Great SSD with lots of space for many programs and even some games. Had a HDD that took 2 minutes to boot and now with the SSD it takes just under a minute now!

Got this for almost 3 months and no problems so far.I always trust OCZ SSDs, at least for me, I have bought many of them and for friends too, none of them had any problems.Their new series Vector should be as good as Vertex 4. I'm looking forward to the new gen of OCZ's ssd.

Cons: A bit expensive

Pros: Speedy, stable, easy to use, mounting bracket and screws included
Comment:
OCZ has establisehd itself as the brand who tries hardest to make the best SSD's.This is one of the extremely rare SSD's not using the Sandforce controller that everybody else (including Intel) is using. So they have an unique edge and they deserve credit for being a pioneer and offering something other than a "me too" product. My Agility3 has been flawless so I decided to get a Vertex4. So far, so good!

Cons: Needs hack to enable TRIM support on Mac OS X (all non-Apple-pre-loaded SSDs need this so no fault of the drive its own)

Pros: Fast read and write rates, lives up to reviews.
Comment:
This is my first SSD so I have little to compare this to, but as various mass-reviews would say, this drive comes out on top or near the top in most of the benchmarks. I'm happy to see those results match my own findings, as it's good to know that what you read about a product you have purchased lives up to its name.A small disappointment is that the advertised R/W speed on the box is probably taken from some best case scenario with some specific benchmark, because synthetic benchmarks which I have run are noticeably less than that. Of course you can't rely on synthetic benchmarks to indicate real-world performance, but I doubt the advertised speeds are typical. You can't really fault the marketing for that; I'm sure most companies advertise best case scenarios when it comes to product performance. All in all, it's a great product and I'm very happy with my purchase. A great addition to my MacBook Pro. Now, OS X Mountain Lion boots up in about 7 seconds and my XCode compile wait times are nearly non-existent.

Cons: - Poor 3.5" adapter plate.- No SATA data cable.

Pros: - Excellent performance.- Reasonable price when on sale.- Firmware 1.5 already installed.- 5 year warranty from a good company.
Comment:
While not all that big of a deal, they really should include a data cable with these. They cost pennies to make I'm sure and it's another place they could put their logo. Think of all the windowed cases out there!Another downer is that the included metal plate for mounting a 2.5" SSD in a 3.5" bay only holds one drive, which is odd seeing as two could easily fit in one of those. A lot of people do buy these in pairs for a RAID 0 setup after all. Just make a cut in the shape of an I then bend the two bits of metal upwards by 90 degrees (think of double doors opening). With four holes on each "door" you would be able to mount two SSD's, plus you'd have better airflow due to the resulting hole below the drives. I had to buy some Kingston brackets just so I could mount the two I purchased together, otherwise they'd have taken up two 3.5" bays instead of one.I didn't get a chance to properly test them on my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H motherboard using the Intel SATA3 ports, but the speed when installing Windows 7, when booting, and when copying files to the array was noticeably fast. Very fast. These are replacing one of the early OCZ Vertex 2 60GB drives which I've never had any trouble with (got it in September of 2010). I just wanted more space. You can't go wrong with OCZ products as their support is some of the best I've ever encountered.

Cons: Puzzling switch between performance mode and storage mode.

Pros: Fast. Perfect size.
Comment:
Bought this after owning 3 OCZ SSD drives that never failed me. My confidence in OCZ is limited after being fouled by the vertex 2 fiasco and their tendency for secrecy. Once again they hid the switch between performance and storage mode for the Vertex 4. In the end, the vextex 4 is awesome. I see a significant speed increase from the vertex 2 to the Vertex 4.

Cons: doesnt let me update  drivers, crashes daily, have had to re install windows 6 times

Pros: decent speed
Comment:
bought this drive with high hopes. first ssd in my first build, hoping for outstanding performance. the speed was ok but i was looking for faster which this drive was supposed to deliver, the agility 4 turned out to be faster than my drive. i have had you re install windows 7 7 times now, so the drive is very unreliable. i have not had much time to even use my computer because ive had to re install everything a numerous amount of times. i wish the reliability was there to make this drive worth my money. also before i install anything i would try to install new drivers and it would not let me but it kept telling me new drivers were needed. very unhappy

Cons: -requires frequent firmware updates for best performance

Pros: -Fast!-Reasonably priced-Included drive adapter
Comment:
Picked this up for use as my primary system drive in a new gaming pc. Was worried 256GB wouldn't be enough, but so far so good! When first installed you will really be blown away with the responsiveness, but after about a week (and having loading it up) you may not notice anymore. Installing windows 7 off a fast usb drive to this is a bit of a thrill tbh. I haven't had any sort of sleep/resume issues that some people had been worried about, so I think those sort of "OCZ issues" have been dealt with by now. I did run the linux boot cd firmware updater almost immediately though, but already 3 weeks later there's a new update! and every time you run the risk of losing your data, so back-up,back-up,back-up! Anyway, paired with a large raid-1 for additional storage, this is an ideal solution, and well worth it.

Cons: having issues to upgrade to 1.5 using windows tools box

Pros: really fast drive. good upgrade from older ssd
Comment:
to upgrade from 1.4.1.3 to 1.5, use the linux iso file that you burn on a dvd/cd and boot with it. make the upgrade to 1.5 much easier. good drive, good price (got it on special at 219$ + a 20$ gift card).

The Vertex 4 line are at the top of their class for performance and price. The price has dropped $70 since I bought last month and it just continues to fall. It's a must buy if you're looking for a high performance SSD that works well with uncompressable data.

I bought this SSD to replace a 100GB G.Skill Phoenix bought in July 2010 in one of my systems. I immediately installed firmware release v1.4.1.3 before installing Windows which went flawlessly. It seems to be working great so far and am very pleased with its performance.

Cons: Died after applying 1.4.1.3 firmware update

Pros: Extremely fast, works excellent with 2011 MacBook Pro
Comment:
Bought it, installed it into my Oct 2011 MacBook Pro, installed Lion onto the drive, installed all my apps. The drive was incredibly fast, stable, and so much better than the HD it replaced. Then I backed it up and upgraded the 1.4 firmware on it to 1.4.1.3, which is a non-destructive upgrade, following the directions on the OCZ forum for the Mac.My laptop began freezing for long periods of time on drive access, so I ran Disk Utility to check the drive. The drive reported numerous errors on the filesystem, so I wiped it out and attempted to reinstall Lion. The installation failed. I tried re-applying the new firmware, the update r claims it was unable to find the firmware online, and wouldn't update  the firmware even though it could see the drive and firmware just fine on the Linux firmware update r.The drive now can't be written to at all, it can't even be seen by the Windows firmware tools under XP.If it's not the drive that's the issue, it's the firmware. This drive is now a $240 paperweight. A firmware upgrade that claimed to be successful when applied should not be reducing the drive to an unusable, non-writable state.I wrote an email to one of the maintainers of the OCZ forum, yet to hear back.
