I found that this card works fine with order versions of windows and not very well with Window 7 or Vista. But I will recommend it for older versions. ( sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes not lol)

There are no signed drivers for W7 yet. Neither MSoft or Ngear has a signed driver and W7 will not allow you to use the card unless you disable driver signing at bootup. This is possible by using the F8 key at bootup but it's a bit of a hassle. Once you've disabled the driver signing, the card does work quite well with W7.

I have a Dell Insperon desktop and the Netgear driver would NOT recognize the card. The card worked fine in another system, not a HW problem. I emailed Netgear, 2 days later I got a comment telling me to move the card to another slot (duh, tried that). Turns out, you need to disable FAST book on the Dell to give the card time to assign IRQs. Card works great now, 5 hour of work later.

I was moving a desktop in my house from a room wired with Cat5e to a room that was not wired. Installed this wireless card and it would connect on initial install but not after a re-boot. I had a conflict with my wired controller which was part of the motherboard. Could not physically remove the wired controller, so I disabled it in device manager. No luck - same problem, so by the time I did all this troubleshooting,

This product would be perfect IF they had drivers for W7. If you have an old (non-7) desktop that could use this, go head. Don't make my mistake, as this will not work with 7.

10 bucks? Perfect! I bought this for an older Sony Vaio desktop, P4 2.4. Worked just fine right out of the box, plug n play. No issues as of yet.

It works fine, and I have no problems with it crashing so far. However, I noticed that the range for this card is a couple of feet less than any other cheap usb adapter. Also I had to install the software like 2 times on Win XP to get it working. On Win 7 works great.

Works as described. Have a wireless router downstairs and it picks it up fairly good. I would like a little better range but for the price it can't be beat.

It works fine now on my old desktop, but it was initially very difficult to set up. There was no software included and I ended up finding it on netgear's support website, but the software seems outdated compared to today's standards. Nevertheless, I now have wireless on my old, clunky desktop!

I bought two of these adapters, they worked fine for about a month and now they are unable to see any wireless router (even when its 2 feet away from it) I have one in an XP machine and one in a windows 7 machine. I guess you get what you pay for

This refurbished product installed properly and worked the 1st time out of the box wihout any issues. Instructions were clear, consise, and easy to follow. Excellent performance, XP home recognized hardware and provided step by step instructions to complete the install. The BUT part?? No software came with the unit, it had to bne downloaded. I thought it was ironical that in order to get connected, you had to be connected to download the drivers. On the bright side, it was an easy install. Price setting was a major issue. I gave a 5 star rating because overall, the final cost was still a great deal. The beef? The unit was originally priced at 8.49 a unit. When I got to the checkout stand it jumped to 10.00. My total cost was 13.46 per unit after shipping and handeling. Still a great deal for a refurbished unit with a full warrantee. Just beware of pricing.

The installation software reset the log in screen for XP. It made it revert to the Professional log in screen. I tried Netgear help on-line as the per instructions. The website din not exist. I called your company & was told they did not have any advice to offer. I returned the card and bought another

works well to add internet connectivity to older machine, just used for light browsing, simple kids games. Be sure to download drivers and install first.

When I got the card I downloaded the software and installed it first, then I installed the card. When I restarted the computer and used the Netgear connection software it would connect for a second or two and then disconnect over and over. I tried using windows connect program and got the same thing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it wasn't working. I checked on the internet and found that these cards have had a lot of problems with constantly disconnection but they all said it would stay connected for 5,10 and some 20 minutes before disconnecting. I went into my wireless router to check the setting and I am embarrassed to say I had put the wrong password in when I was setting up the cards connection, but instead of it telling me there was a problem with the password it just constantly connect and disconnect. Other than that issue the card seems to work ok. For the money I am happy with this.

I use it in an older desk top with XP. It gets about 100' distance and even though I use this computer less than my laptop, when I did I had no problems.

I made the mistake of not installing the card immediately, only to find that that the device wouldn't function even though the drivers installed without a hitch. It was already past the return period, so I'm out my money and stuck with yet another product refurbished by this particular manufacturer. This is the second of only three refurb items I've purchased from this manufacturer that didn't work properly. I'm done with them...

I bought two of these cards. One of them didn't work at all, the other one didn't work if I set up a WEP static password.

Not the best range, but is adequate (70 feet or so through walls). Installed without issue on a Windows XP machine. Price is right!

This unit did not work, no drivers to be found. Fortunately, I had an older wireless card of the same series in an earlier system, so I swapped them out. Performance, compared to the other company, the signal strength was not as strong with the older unit, and the older unit's drivers were already in other systems, which makes for much easier setup. Sensorship, what a wonderful world; you ask for me to rate an item but can't mention names?
