For $40 I'm not complaining. Haven't had any issues with the drivers although some of the GUI for the drivers are awful. I can tell a noticeable difference over the onboard. |

Cons: no EMF shield. the 8786 chipset is a cutoff from 8788 chipset but only difference is just 24/96 vs 24/192.

I needed a headphone amp for a headset I was purchasing and finally chose to go with this device. While it should be noted that the PCI version of this card is significantly cheaper I decided to go with the PCI-e version due to having only those slots available in my system.Sound quality is good for a card of this price, there are some cool effects that are thrown in as well such as virtual 5.1 for headphone users and microphone filters. Happy with it would definitely buy again. |

Purchased this card to hopefully get some more low end/volume out of my headphones, of which it does perfectly.Max volume while the AMP is active will likely blow most headphones, however the sound drivers include a separate limiter option (defaulted at 70% max) to help prevent blowouts from happening. For my headphones I ended up setting this limiter to 50%.The fact that the headphone must plug into the back of the card directly to use the AMP will either be an annoyance, or even a deal breaker for some.
