Cons: lack of usb port

Pros: Light weightgood air flow
Comment:
One of the better notebook cooler I have had. The zalman NC2000 provides great air flow to the laptop with a reasonable amount of noise coming from it. It is very light in weight and the quality of the product is excellent. I would recommend anyone who plans to game should consider this cooler.

Cons: -Not the "quiet" I was expecting, but its hardly noticeable. -50 bucks + shipping?!

Pros: It keeps my laptop 10°C cooler under load and also has an extra usb port in the back to make up for the one you lose. The aluminum on this cooler is the reason why the laptop stays so cool. There is no reason to increase the fan speed on this cooler, leaving it at the minimum RPM will do an excellent job. I didn't notice any chance when I set the fan speed to a higher RPM
Comment:
If you need a laptop cooler, this is definitely one of the better ones to get. However at 50 bucks, it's quite costly.

Cons: Portability

Pros: Sturdy design, quiet, variable fan
Comment:
All in all this is a great cooler. The aluminum body provides a sturdy stand and also stays very cool. I've been able to run games on my laptop (Deus Ex: HR and Assassin's Creed II )without exceeding 70*C on a Dell 1640.

I love this cooler. I have only had it about a week so I can't say too much about longevity. It is designed to be used on your lap. All the connectors are on the side instead of the back. When the connectors are in the back they get bent and broken. This is very quiet and puts out a lot of coolness.

This fan really does wonders. I am not technical so exact temps are unknown. However, the CPU fan hardly runs anymore and the laptop feels much cooler. Great product. Bought 5 more for teamm at work for their new 17 inch Dell Precision's.

This unit does what is says, and works very well. My laptop is a high performance laptop that heats up a lot. This unit cools down the laptop quite a bit. Also since it cools down the laptop it makes the computer a little faster, as the CPU does not get as hot as it used to.

Friend recommended this to me back at Christmas time, and finally got around to purchasing it. Id have to say it is one of the best investments in a laptop cooler Ive ever had. Very sturdy, has great fan power, and keeps my Asus G60Vx GPU at a good temp while running high performance video games. If your considering getting a notebook cooler, this is the one for you.

Quiet, quality made, coooooooool... Does everything that's said about it. Looks great and fits my 17 inches laptop perfectly. Wasn't expecting anything less from a brand like Zalman... thus why I chose to pay the exatr money instead of buying a cheaper product.

Quality and performance far exceeds any other laptop coolers that I had looked at prior to purchaseing this one. Two others, I tried were junk compered to this one, Highly reccomend to all. A little pricey but worth the extra for quality.

This unit is made well, so quiet you can't hear it, good size, large vents, multiple USB ports, adjustable heights, rubber grips to keep the laptop in place, very stylish. I was looking for a less expensive one, but decided if I wanted the perfect product I would have to pay for it. Well worth it! I recommend it highly.

I was quite surprised how well built this cooler was. I like how quiet and power efficient it is, and it keeps my ASUS G71Gx-A2 screaming thru games for hours. I'm very impressed and would recommend this product to my friends.

I got this for my husband. He was always very concerned about how hot his laptop would run because of the high demand programs he had running consistently. Now he says his laptop is actually cool to the touch, which is incredible considering you could nearly burn your hand touching it previously. Great product!

I use a Dell Studio XPS 16 and it tends to run hot. This cooler not only cools the laptop but after a long day of work the bottom of the laptop (which normally would be too hot to touch) is as cool as if it were not running. This is the perfect size for a wider laptop. the back of the cooler is open to allow a sheath for the plug-wires to be out of site and gathered in one place. The price was my hesitation on buying... I decided to risk it and i've not been happier. The fans are so quiet I don't even know it's running unless i put my ear to it. The big selling point that makes this different than other cooling pads... the aluminum top of the unit is ALWAYS cool to the touch. This has saved my laptop from prematurely overheating and i've noticed a drastic change in the consistency of how my laptop operates without the heat. I am pleased as punch!

Cons: Why not the option for 4 fans? Has 2 but the impression in bottom for 4, maybe with 4 it could of run quieter.

Pros: This cooler is awsome, I have a Dell xps studio 16 and it Keeps the laptop running cool. Even off of battery it is a good kit. Trades run time for internal cooling=about same run time.

Worth every penny. I use it on my couch with the stand up legs, lets the air in. The palm rests are cool with this unit and even the heat outlet is cooler on the laptop with this cooler. If you have any heat issues or even a litte and want a good place to sit the laptop while using on a couch or bed this unit is for you This review was modfied by poster @ 09-20-09 09:54 AM

Pros: Great fans, aluminum surface, silent and easy to use. It comes with 2-3 extra USB ports. Very efficient and does deduct temperature.

I purchased the product to go with a new 17" laptop. Unfortunately the laptop was DOA but I kept the cooler for my old one - 15". I'm glad I did. The cooler is great. The aluminum really plays it's part. If my hand ever touches the metal it seriously feels like I'm touching an ice-cube. Unfortunately I can't tell the internal temperature but since I've had it my laptop's internal cooling hasn't kicked in to power mode once, something I saw quite often before. And the size difference hasn't been bad at all! I was expecting the cooler to be massive for my 15" laptop but it's been a good size. So I docked it a bit in value because of its price - still great though.

Ditto what the previous reviewer stated; well made, quiet, adjustable fan speed. My daughters Toshiba laptop was intermittently shutting down (I thought) because of heat. This fixed the problem. The slightly slanted (towards the user) surface is a plus. I'd buy this again.

Product is very quiet with the ability to adjust the fan speed which is a nice touch. The case is sturdy and able to support my 17'' Dell Precision M4400 laptop with Dell docking station with just a small portion of the docking station hanging off the back. Airflow has helped and I'm pleased so far - about 1-1/2 weeks.

I noticed my laptop got a little warm from time to time. I'm not a heavy gamer, but I am a heavy bookworm. I figured this was just a good investment to improve the lifespan of the notebook.Zalman claims that the NC2000 will reduce overall noise while keeping things cooler - a claim that I was naturally very pessimistic about. They actually did it. At a low setting, the fans are extremely quiet, but they move enough air through the perforated aluminum face that the higher-rev, louder notebook fan doesn't have to turn on. For heavy users, you'll find that these fans do get a little loud at full speed. The surface is aluminum and is always quite cool to the touch. The two weaknesses - this guy is pricey, but you do get what you pay for. This is also a fairly bulky unit so portability isn't great for people on the go.
