Easy Install - Fast Delivery
Comment:
Everyone needs an upgrade eventually and this little guy did the trick. Make sure your PC meets the motherboard and system requirements. Easy to install. Ship it to your work address so you won't miss the delivery! I could have gotten it three days earlier.

I bought this CPU and a new Gigabyte MB, they are a great combination. This is my first AMD processor but it will not be my last, I'm very happy with it's performance.

Comment:
I bought this with a Gigabyte motherboard which died after 4 boot ups. RA'd the board back and went back to ASUS with the same features. Great cpu, especially in a board that works :)

AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.9GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-Found that a 7750 beat it in gaming benchmarks-small, wimpy heatsink included

Pros:-Price (although Intel offerings are creeping close)-Runs cool on inexpensive aftermarket cooler-Pretty good overclock-Decent for HTPC
Comment:
Cooler running than earlier X2s, better overclocking(3.7 unstable, stable at 3.45)capability and doesnt break the bank. No regrets, but now the X4 620 is looking pretty good. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-16-09 10:23 AM

BIG BANG FOR THE BUCK
Comment:
At first I thought that the heatsink and fan looked a little puny for a 2.9 GHZ CPU, however, it does the job of keeping the cpu at 37C at idle and 43C when working, without being noisy. The CPU is faster than I expected and handles multiple graphic programs without delays. With 4 GB of ram, XP Pro boots up in 10 seconds. This makes an excellent heavy duty office machine at a price that can't be beat.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.9GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-Dual-core "only"

Pros:-Price-Speed-Overclockability-Power consumption
Comment:
I picked this up to replace my Athlon X2 4000+ at 2.6ghz.With default voltage in the BIOS, and almost no effort, this CPU overclocked to 3.55ghz.Blazing fast, and according to my Kill-A-Watt, uses 30-40 watts less than my Athlon X2. Very happy with my purchase.I noticed games load much quicker now, and x264 encodes about three times as many frames per second. Would definitely buy again for an HTPC or even cheap gaming computer.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.9GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:- Nothing wrong to say for that price

Pros:- Very good price when in bundle with Gigabyte 785G- Good performance for the price- Perfect for an HTPC- Good Energy efficiency
Comment:
This AMD cpu series is very good considering the price they are selling them. I builded 2 HTPC and they are performing really well. They are enough powerful for the day to day tasks. Very good values if not needed for a gaming machine.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 2.9GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Not a high end more expensive processor.

Pros:Dirt cheap - belongs enshrined in the top of the bargain bin.
Comment:
It's hard to get a more solid processor for under $100. It's in my sister's computer, and does everything she needs it to. If she ever feels the need to upgrade, ditching an $85 processor is fairly painless.

Awesome performance for the price! I'm runnnig this in a Gigabyte AM2+ motherboard and it screams down the street! I haven't overclocked this beauty yet cause I'm still waiting for the new to wear off before I hammer it down for performance.

I've built 2 systems with this cpu & am very happy. 20% overclock paired with a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM motherboard with no problems.AMD may not be leading the processor war but still provides good value. Runs cool even with the overclock.

Good for the buck
Comment:
Yep great deal for the amount that is for sure. I am able to game at high speeds, no more lag time (in general), and everything runs smooth and fast. But remember that if you get this cpu to get an AM3 board. Nevertheless, for the performance that it offers (and I love mine) and its low price, it is totally worth it.
