I previously bought an Ultra 1000va that was on special for $109. While the unit worked, the software was terrible and didn't. The unit itself had few indicators and overall I wasn't impressed. APC is really the industry leader. I spent an extra $50 for this unit and it was worthwhile. No hassel with anything. The software is easy to use and integrates with Windows XP seamlessly.

The battery in my previous APC UPS died so in lieu of replacing it, I thought I would get a brand new unit altogether. I come from a 350 VA UPS and let me tell you, this 1300 VA unit is great! The LCD screen is very informative from displaying the instantaneous load, approx battery time, how many times it intervened, current frequency, and also input and output voltage. The unit handles my pretty high-powered computer beautifully. The UPS feels solid and just as good quality as my previous unit. For the money you get a pretty powerful unit which will give you peace of mind. Stay away from the other knock-offs such as ULTRA or Cyber Power or Power Sentry, pieces of junk. APC stands behind its name and its $150,000 equipment guarantee. Trust me, spend a bit more money to get an APC and you won't regret it.

Just purchased this so it hasn't really had to deal with any surges or power interruptions yet. Super easy to use. Just plug it in. Self-monitoring modes seem to work well. This unit has a very sturdy construction and a reassuring heft.

I bought this ups for use on my audio surround system, not a computer. It works perfectly, getting past the occasional power hiccup and gives me plenty of time to turn everything off when the power fails.

Easy to install. Appears to work great. I had an Ultra UPS that died after 3 years. The replacement cost for the APC was the same when you consider the free shipping and instant savings.

Even though I get an occasional pop-up box saying my ups isn't communicating (lies I tell ya!) the ups works great, and the software tells you load, time expected to last at power failure, and keeps a history of oops from the power lines. And it is really user friendly. More than you'll ever need for information.

I've had this UPS for over a year on my 52-inch TV and satellite equipment, and during that time we had a flash flood that submerged the unit in six inches of water (up to the display). I disconnected the batteries and put the unit in my garage thinking It would also be scrapped, but found that once dry, and the batteries replaced, it all worked just like new. Excellent buy!

Mine was DOA when I got it, the printed out test results were from January of this year. But APC replaced it very quickly with there newer version of the same model (Blue LED). This is a great price for this model!

I have used brand X low end UPS units for years and this product outperforms those, hands down. The capacity and functions for the price are excellent. I will certainly purchase more of these as the need arises. This site scores again! Keep up the good work.

Bought 2, one for my desktop setup, and one for the TV and satellite. Now I don't worry during storms and the occasional power outage. APC's have always been the best I've had. I recommend it.

Replaced my older unit with this more powerful one and now my processor, printer, modem, AND new 27'' monitor will stay on when the power stops! My installation was slowed down because I forgot to charge it overnight before plugging things in, so it pays to read the instructions first. This unit is large and heavy so make sure you have room enough to place it and get to it when necessary.

Bought this to replace another brand that decided to quit working. Have used APC UPS's for years, and I really think these are tops. One you can get battery replacements, and they will recycle the old battery for you. This unit came as shown, works great for the purpose intended.

This is our third APC product in the past 15 years and we have been well pleased with all. Living in the woods means every time the wind blows you may loose power. Wouldn't be without our APC-Back UPS's

i ordered the apc after researching for a battery backup for 4 days. apc is great in quality and easy to change a battery when needed. i ordered on a monday, this site told me 5-7 days for delivery using ground service. i received the shipment in less than 24 hours. apc is great, but this site is best.

My last two battery backup's have been APC. This one has twice the capacity as both my others and twice to outlets. With the LOW quality power that we have in Ca. this is a must. Great unit for the money.

After my 7-year-old smaller APC UPS finally gave up the ghost, this unit was the logical choice. With 8 real battery backup outlets and 3 surge protected, plus cable and phone protection and voltage levelling, great for a home setup with lots of accessories, VoIP adapter, etc. PowerChute software is basic but useful and the auto-shutdown works fine.

I've used Triplite's for years with a couple of car batteries attached and it gives me hours and hours of trouble-free use. I'm looking forward to the first blackout so i can see how these perform. I know the name and it usually means quality.

Great UPS, but PowerChute software is lacking. Apcupsd (apcupsd dot org) is far superior on both our Windows and Linux servers.

APC products are great. All of my power bar-surge suppressors are APC, I have a small one for my laptop, and I had a Back-UPS Office for my desktop. It worked great and saved me from countless brief blackouts, but I needed more battery capacity. I bought an APC Back-UPS XS 1300VA and it works flawlessly. The power went off last night and I continued working. Don't plug printers, scanners, etc into. No need for battery backup for them, but do plug in a small light so you can see what you're doing. If it's a long blackout, the extra battery capacity will eventually run down and you'll need to shut down your computer. That's happened once in nearly a year. This model has easily outlasted all other power outages here. Highly recommended by someone who's used APC products for 15 years.
