APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Superior lay out. Nice looking case. Top usb and headphone good feature. Handle is a good function. When the case arrived to my home the box was not damaged, when I opened the box I realized that the top was loose. When I got it out of the box I realized the top was broke. There are 6 little plastic hooks and three screw mounts to hold that best on. 5 of the hooks were broke and 2 of the screw mounts. So I was going to RMA it, but it would expense me 20 dollars just to send it back. So by the time I got one more case providing that 1 wasn't broke I would have pretty much as significantly in shipping as the case price. Its genuinely sad since the case was not bent or something the top was just broke. I applied some plastic epoxy to glue the hooks and mounts back on and appears to be holding.I had to get rid of most of the tough drive cage to fit a GTX260 in the case but it was well worth it. It may possibly have fit with it in there but hold the card up to the case it would have been to close for me to try so I just removed the cage. Put a 120mm fan in the front!!Would have been a 5 if it weren't broke.

Quite nicely designed case. Handle is great! Put in a 120mm fan in front, and the front bezel comes off very easily for mounting. Good power button and reset. My CPU fan is too loud, but I ordered a Masscool for the socket A AMD. Highly suggested. NONE Shipping charges are killing me along with the CA sales tax!

Wonderful case, great cost. The handle on top and the top USB ports are really nice capabilities. NewEgg sold out already, so I guess other people like it too! None NewEgg rocks, my orders show up typically one day, two at the most!!

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Overall, a great case. Good presentation and finish. Not as large as the photos make it appear. Handle is decently powerful. With a thin intake fan installed in the front, 4 challenging drives can indeed be mounted inside, while I question if airflow would nonetheless be sufficient. I install one tough drive up high and one down low with the intake fan in between and have had no heat issues. Even though the front bezel is removed effortlessly, it appears to attach in a quite solid fashion. It's not going anywhere unless I want it to come off. Side panels are a little flimsy, but if one is cautious while they are off (as any person really should be), then I cannot see it being a difficulty. Flip door for usb and audio plugs on the top of the case doesn't like to seat 100% properly soon after the children messed with it, but I seem to be the only 1 that notices it. The predrilled holes in the front accommodate an 80mm case fan. 300W powersupply is not large enough to energy a beast of a graphics card, so be careful!

see other review... The included PSU was too weak to run my ga-g33m-ds2r, crucal ballistix 2gb kit, and two HD's. Kept restarting after about 1 minute. I popped in an Antec Standard 500w and all is nicely.

Um its black?? Header cables are way too brief...the case came and the box was in close to excellent condition...when i took it out of the box i had realized the top was broken in two of the screw mounts and 4 of the clips...i bought the case for the manage...looks like that got me certainly nowhere

Cons:Feels flimsy when side panels are offPower supply is for bsic systems onlyNo front panel USB3 portsNo SSD bracket

Pros:InexpensiveQuiet power supplyNo sharp edgesGood airflowTop USB2 and Audio portsDecent fit and finishSubstantial drive bays in and outHandle on top looks nice and is convienient
Comment:
I have used this case for the first time and I am quite impressed. I would not likely use this case for anything other than a budget build as the power supply like most in this price range probably should not be trusted to put out its full rating for any length of time. In a low power SandyBridge build however it is very quiet, almost silent in fact and the internal airflow is excellent. It has a good selection of expansion slots and drive bays with the exceptions of front panel USB3 ports and an SSD bracket, neither of which are a serious show stopper for a budget build. I think this case is an excellent value for the money and I would recommend it to anyone looking to build an inexpensive machine.

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Comment:
I ordered this case primarily simply because of the handle, size, and decent looks (I wanted some portability), but I was actually stunned when I pulled this thing out of its box. This case is truly lovely! And the top quality appears to be superb. There is no reset button as there is with most other circumstances, but I really take into account that to be a plus. (No accidental resets and you can always reset the technique by holding the power button in for at least 5 seconds.) By the way, the power button has a genuinely good green backlight that looks incredibly classy when turned on. In fact, the whole case looks classy and, yes, the manage on the best looks real superior and works real excellent too. 1 a lot more thing - the front panel audio outputs / USB jacks are nicely hidden but really effortless to get too and they couldn't be in a greater position for convenience. It's also simple to eliminate the side panel if you want to do upgrades or make modifications. I can't picture how everyone could be disappointed with this case. This case is what it is. Inside it's obvious limitations (it doesn't have enough bays to be much of a server case), I couldn't uncover any unpleasant surprises. I do wish it had a window on the side although, but it is otherwise close to great. I haven't definitely tested the energy supply for voltages, but Allied is a trusted name and it appears to be performing the job for me. I have simultaneously run 2 harddrives and two DVD recorders for a number of weeks with no issues.I commonly don't take the time to write reviews such as this. (In reality, this is my very first time.) But I am so impressed with this product that I want to share it with any person that might be in the marked for a case like this. But it seems that I have a history although of finding out that most of the goods I come across that I really like are discontinued soon right after I discover them. I hope APEX continues to make these long adequate for me to buy it's larger "PC" version (and at the very same price too - what a deal) when I order the parts to build a different laptop or computer.

Light, good handle, great airflow possibilities. Perfect for lugging around a MicroATX desktop PC. The plastic looks kinda cheap, & the metal is a bit thin. I know the case is affordable, but I would have paid far more for this exact similar case with a good finish. If you don't require the handle, get a different case. I from time to time function from home, so I need to bring a PC back & forth. I didn't want a laptop b/c I want a lot of power, & I like developing machines myself. So this case fits the bill perfectly -- it's about the size of a medium-sized briefcase.

Lightweight, compact, all parts fit effectively. Actual low-cost.Quickly Newegg shipping. The manage is a convenient touch. Nice style. No thumbscrews for the cover: wah wah... I got tired of replacing micro ATX supplies for my old HP 750n. I transplanted the guts into this case: challenge solved. We'll see how the included supply fares. I added a Stealth 80mm front fan for the HD's.

We love the green energy button and the black grilled vents in front. The pictures don't do this case justice, it's black and mean searching. They need a lights-out photo for this case. ;) Like the other guy, with some motherboards it's a tight fit to reach the front audio and USB plugs across the main board. Had to remove the video card to refit the wires. The manage and size of case is best for our Mini-PC project. We wanted a case that could hold a full sized Video card & PSU. This case did the job nicely without having spending a ton of money.

This is my initial chose for the dozens of high-end small business PCs I’ve built. Not too heavy or too light either. Handle is really sturdy. Cost is fair and it looks extremely specialist. The case is properly designed and easy to create out. That said; obtain the model w/o the power supply if it is available. Lately I had no chose but to buy this unit with the p/s and it arrived damaged. The packing foam just doesn’t safeguard this case with the added weight of p/s. I often use the: COOLER MASTER Elite 460 RS-460-PSAR-J3 460W ATX12V V2.31 Energy Supply Item #: N82E16817171046 with this case.

Ordered it late Monday night and received it early Thursday morning. Was pretty surprised to obtain it in it normal product box. looks pretty slick and the deal with is pretty powerful and handy. Plenty of possible and outstanding airflow, audio ports on best are fairly cool. They are hidden in a small flip up door. Case is super light and plenty of room for expansion. When I opened up the box I had that new toy smile which promptly became a frown when I noticed that the case was BENT! Not just a small bit...it was fairly bad. Each side panels had been bent in and so was the frame had been the rear fan is. Was pretty bummed but didn't want to go by way of the RMA process. so took a rubber mallet and BOOM!...looks fairly darn superior!!! glad I purchased this case as it was superior than I expected and newegg in no way does me wrong. Running XFX 8200 hybrid SLI, AMD 5000 Black Edition overclocked to 3Ghz. 4gb OCZ Nvidia SLI 800mhz. and 600w psu. with ancient dinosaur hdd(I think Bill Gates employed it back in his college days).

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons: None at this price range

Pros: Quality, design, style, affordable, comes with a good power supply
Comment:
I was surprised by how well the case was made given the low price. The styling is excellent and the included carrying handle at the top of the case is extremely handy if you want to move the computer around when you need to.The included power supplier by Allied 'seems' to be a good one. 'm not able to test its output or efficiency etc. but it is quiet and includes 2 fans, which is rare for a typical econo 400 watts psu. There are not a lot of connectors but should be enough for most users except gamers. The metal of the case is a little thin but I do not intend to sit on it. Overall this is an excellent case for the money and I will definitely buy again.

Good For The Price
Comment:
I love the look of this case and I would buy it again for the build that I used it for! Very good manageable size! The biggest complaint if is that it does not have a firewire connection (plug)! Quality is a little less as far as the thickness of the steel; but is well supported when put together! In one way that may make it better considering the weight when carrying it! I did however buy and replace the psu even when I ordered it as I'm not used to getting good quality psu's that come with computer cases! However the psu looks nice and I will use it on something that I do not put much value in; like an older mobo! Overall; it's worth the price!

Great case very tight
Comment:
I bought this case after buying a barebones kit with an Asus M4A785-M mobo and a Phenom 9750 cpu and 4g of corsair ram it was tricky getting the ram burned in and set right as it a very picky board and overclocks the best of any build I have ever built. It is very tight but plenty of airflow as i added every fan i could to make sure it ran cool it is loud but well worth it the thermal intake on the side is about perfect for my cpu and fan.WARNING there isnt room for a large cooler and thats the first of 2 drawbacks the second is running a high end video card it was very hard to install my card I had to zip tie every cable as there just isnt any space inside also firewire would be a plus but I added a card so its perfect for my build been running win 7 since 11-12-09 stable as it gets

Comment:
The lightweight Apex TX-381 computer case housed my new system. I especially like the front side USB ports located on the top edge for convenience. Also like the handle. 300 Watt power is enough for my system. It’s a great, inexpensive case, for the MicroATX.

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons:PSU is not probably not very reliableHandle on top makes the top hard to place things on or stack anything on top

Pros:PriceComes with PSUHandle is very handyHaving connectors on the top like USB, MIC, Headphones is a very good ideaVery lightweightComes with 1 case fan in the backHas side vent over the CPU area with cone that can be extended to tunnel air directly to the CPU area
Comment:
Good budget case with PSU, the handle is very handy when moving it around as it feels sturdy enough to use. Best feature of the case is the USB, Mic, Headset jacks in the front are on the top of the case for people who have the computer sitting beside them on the floor. I would definitely buy this for another budget computer but would never buy this for a computer I would build for myself

This is a decent micro ATX case. The handle on the top of the box is sturdy enough to carry the machine around. Although the steel is fairly thin, it's not as thin as some boxes I've seen.

Good Value
Comment:
First off, I didn't use the power supply so I am only discussing the case. I consider this a descent value for the money. The metal is thin and the case is a little crowded if you add the front fan(like I did). I wish I didn't need to remove screws to get inside but... The case holds everything securely, the top handle is nice, and the air movement seems quite good. All cables were nicely labeled as well.
