good case
Comment:
Used this for a resent build for friend, Asrock board AMD quad core DDR3 mem, and wanted a little smaller case, this worked very well. The build quality is a little cheap, kinda flimsy. PROS. cheap, power supply and comes with a chassis fan. CONS. cheaply built, no fire wire

Buyer Beware
Comment:
I bought this case mainly for the size and the handle. When the case arrived,I opened the box from the top. I reached in and grabbed the case by the, what I thought was useful, handle. When I lifted the case, the whole top of the csae handle and all broke completely off. I needed a case at the time,so I put the handleTop back in the box and used what was left. The case itself is fine. The fan is loud. I would not recommend lifting this case by the handle, mine broke and the case was empty! Power supply is very cheaply made. I did not use, and would not recommend using it.

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons:power supply needed more plugs.

Pros:Price, small, has a handle, nice top panel, clean looking.
Comment:
Its a great little case if you are looking to build something for a student who will be moving their pc alot. The only thing i can think of that ppl should look into is make sure the power supply has enough plugs you need for your build. It only come with 1x4pin for the motherboard, and there is no 6pin or 8pin plug, so its kinda hard to fit in a nicer video card. But all in all, its a super case, I just love the handle on top, makes it so easy to move this thing around since its also so small. Its a very clean and neat looking case with all the space you need for its mATX build.

Great Case for a basic computer build
Comment:
I purchased this case to put together a micro-atx with a celeron processor - used the power supply that was provided and all worked well. I did not add any power hogs like high end video cards etc so the 300 watt supply worked just fine.

Exactly what I was looking for
Comment:
Needed an inexpensive case and it fit the need nicely. Case is a little tight installing eeverything but air flow is good and with round cables everything fit. Power supply is good but not a high power one. Overall I'll use this case for many more projects.

Works fine
Comment:
After a computer upgrade I wound up with a motherboard, intel Q6600 chip and 4G of ram. I decided to add a box, hard drive and a DVD drive and set up an UBUNTU computer since my work involves software that is native to Linux. It was easy to put the parts together. The box is basic but its all that is needed. Its most important property is that it has been working for over a month with no problems.

Love this case!
Comment:
For the money, versatility and what you need it to do - you can't go wrong. I have bought 6 of these and built computers for all of my kids. I have bought many cases in the past and this one is the best all around.

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons:None, for the systems I have built. Some might find it a little short on power supply cables.

Pros:Easy to work in, light, love the handle and the usb ports at the top.
Comment:
I have used this case for at least 10 computers and hope that it remains available in the future. It is inexpensive and does the job. People I build computers for like it's portability and light weight. Some mATX cases can be difficult to work in but this one is good.

Great case with a Handle
Comment:
Just the case I was looking for, a nice simple design microATX case with a handle. This case fits my needs for a semi mobile solution. The 120mm Rear Exhaust Fan as noted on the photo is misleading. Can not fit a 120mm fan therefore, my Corsair Hydro H50 I recived from another vendor before the case came in dose not fit. Only a 90mm fan (which comes with one) fits without a case mod.

Great Value
Comment:
I am very pleased with the value of this case. I had an old microATX board with a P4 2.0 GHz processor that needed a home, but did not want to spend much on an old machine. Case looks good and no problems installing, and has performed flawlessy so far (4 weeks). Case fan is a little noisy, but it is still quieter than many I have owned. After market fan would be better, but it is not noisy enough to matter to me. It has power for both IDE drives and SATA drives so it is good for my old hardware.

Good Case and Power Supply
Comment:
I was a little concerned over some of the reviews here, but ordered it anyway. The only problem I had was a reversed wire for the power led. All in all, for $39. I got my d530 sff into a new home...and a power supply to boot !! Thanks!

Excellent little case
Comment:
Great little case, nice layout for micro, built 4 of these. Metal is a little on the thin side, but it is $40, never used the power supply on the builds, gave them to the local school. All of the PS still working, I just do not trust them - case and all for $40

Very disappointed with Apex
Comment:
I received this case building an htpc (bought XFX MG-63MI-7109 and Intel Celeron Dual Core E1500 here too) for a friend on a budget from here as well. The power supply was DOA (+5/-5 volt rails dead), stupid me assembling everything before testing it (I own a ps tester), confirmed by also connecting a working ps to it as well which fired up no problem. I called TD to see if they can simply send me a ps instead of disassembling everything to return it, they suggested to call apex. Apex rep insisted on all sorts of bullsh*t tests to confirm an exchange even after I explained have a ps tester and after telling him that I already tried another ps. I will have to do another exchange and have decided to go with another company (Ultra) for the ps and my friend raised his budget for another case. The case wasn't bad, a little thin here and there and some mb with installed cards may make a difference on being able to use the front top usb/sound connect due to short cord.

Cons:Weak side door

Pros:Nice lookingPlenty of room
Comment:
Picked this out for my daughter and she loves the style. Having the usb and speaker connection up on top is great. Comes with a cheap power supply but, she only using this computer for homework and internet. The side door panel is flimsy, so be careful to not bend it!

The case wants to be a gamer case, and it'll do it
Comment:
I bought this case to do a budget build and I thought the handle on top was a bit of a gimmick, but I'm finding it to be pretty useful. The USB ports on top at the front of the case are in a good location, unfortunately there are only two of them. The front audio port (at the same locale as the USB) supports HD audio, which is kinda cool. Even though light, the case seems sturdy. The included power supply has two SATA plugs, one of those has a couple molex jumpers off of it. One strange aspect, the included case fan has a plug thats designed to plug into the mother board fan header rather than the molex plugs. There's an air cone right over the CPU which is kind of a good idea. All in all, I like this case pretty well and for a small price tag, it does everything you need a computer case to do with a few nice extra features. For my next build, unless I go for some feature packed high end case and a high wattage power supply, I'll go with this case again.

Cheap and effective!
Comment:
I put an old biostar mobo, a celeron d 3.12ghz, a 60 gig hard drive, dvd writer, 3 gigs of ddr2 dc667 pny ram, a soundblaster sound card and a pny geforce7600 and it all runs smooth as silk, thisis a starter computer for my son to see if he is ready for my rig, lol, great product, great value, also everything was in great shape when it arrived, the power supply isn't the greatest on earth but it works fine and has for a few weeks now, and the red led light for hard drive indicator is gorgeous... Thanks guys for a great buy and making my kid as happy as a clam :)

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons:limited power supply connections

Pros:construction, power supply, handle and side vents, price
Comment:
The power supply runs silent and 2 rails and powers is currently powering a amd x3 8650 and gigabyte 780G motherboard with no issues. The case comes with a nice rear 120mm fan which blows a lot of air at quiet sound levels. The power supply has limited connections (no pci-e), but for the price it cannot be beat.Carrying handle and front usb and audio designs are a nice bonus for such a cheap package. Highly recommend to any mATX motherboard user or any office space.

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons:short internal cables (top usb and audio)

Pros:2X5.25 2X3.5 4X3.5INT bays, 400w PSU, carrying handle, sturdy plastic and metal construction
Comment:
Nice case with lots of drive bays (most mATX do not have this many drive bays). Came with 400w PSU (but swapped it out for another PSU) and rear 90mm fan. There is space for a front 120mm fan (but that was not included).I paired this with a Scythe Reeven Direct Touch Heatpipe CPU Cooler which fitted perfectly (I doubt that some of the other full sized direct touch heatsinks would have enough clearance). The handle is convenient, but I look at the case and sometimes wish that the top was flat, but then I like the handle for when I need to move the case (you can't have everything). The metal is a bit light, but still sturdy enough and the plastic is solidly made. With the rear fan on automatic motherboard control and the other fans (CPU and front) controlled as well, the case is nice and quite and cool (although this is with an overclocked E5200 and no video card).Overall I am pleased with the case and would purchase again.Edit: April 5, 2009 - I really like the handle. The case is an excellent matx case - the only thing is the short header cables may be a problem with some builds. 4.5/5 rating This review was modfied by poster @ 04-05-09 08:38 PM

APEX TX- 381 Black Computer Case
Cons:Power supply of unknown quality and efficiency (but seems to work fine). Lighter gauge steel case (not aluminum).

Pros:DIMENSIONS LISTED IN THIS REVIEW!Compact, pretty lite, 80 mm fan included is a bit noisy, but not bad.
Comment:
Here are the dimensions (as they are not listed elsewhere);17"L x 15" H x 7" W (not including handle). This case is solidly built, and the front bezel is a nice flat black plastic which nicely matches the black epoxy powder-coated case finish. All plastic and metal parts are sturdy, safety edges on all internal parts, yet the case is still light for a steel case. Room for 4 hard drives inside with adequate air space between each (7/8"). There is space to add either an 80 or 120 mm drive cooling fan in front of the hard drives. Also two 3.5" bays with front access, and two 5.25" bays. There is a flip-up plastic door on the top front of the case which is sturdy, and hides 2 USB ports and a headphone and mic port. The on/off and reset buttons feel very well made, and there is a green LED-illuminated ring around the large on/off button which looks great when the unit is running. The case comes with one 80 mm rear exhaust fan. The case has 4 standard plastic non-mar feet which look like they will stand the test of time. The power supply is an "Allied" Model SL-8400BTX, dual-fan 400 watt unit, with dual 12v rails. The bus ratings are +3.3v/20A..+5v/14A..+12V1/14A..+12V2/13A..-12V/0.3A..+5vUSB/2.5 A. It has the following connectors: 6 standard, 1 floppy, and 1 SATA power (in addition to the MB and P4 connectors). There are 4 expansion card slot spaces in back. The carrying handle is very sturdy and looks great. Definitely only a micro ATX case, but there is lots of room for a 9" x 9" motherboard, and the case has good air flow. The cover over the MB has a removable cooling duct for the processor, which uses the bolt pattern for an 80 mm cooling fan if you prefer. For the price NCIX is asking, this is one great-looking, solid case for a lighter and more portable system. I built a system for my daughter, pairing this with a 19" LCD. The result: one great portable computing system for a student. Highly recommended.
