ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:
Not intended for overclocking
Pros: Cheap for what it doesEasy to installSmall Comment:
Currently using it for my i5 750. As someone who does not intend to overclock, this is a great solution for your cpu cooling needs. From stock cooler to this, I saw a 8-10C decrease(in idle) from 38C to 28C. For the price, you can`t go wrong. If you plan on overclocking, I`d suggest spending a bit more. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:none
Pros:cheap, effective way to solve overheating problems Comment:
As someone who is not an overclocker, but appreciates the high end performance of the core i7 chip, that was getting up to 70 degrees idle using the stock fan and 95 degrees under load, this $20 (on sale) cooling solution lowered my idle levels to 45 degrees and load temperature to 60 degrees. Simple, effective. Great value. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:was a bit scary & challenging to install g 1st
Pros:seems pretty chilly even on a hot chip like this Comment:
I was kinda surprised by the install process with the screws and such and the weird plugins to the motherboard, they were challenging to install BUT... I think it was a really good value for the buck and I'm happy I got it. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:- Had some difficulty with the push pins at first but no problem shortly after
Pros:- Inexpensive when on sale (approx $25)- Good cooling/price ratio- Quiet Comment:
Was looking for a less expensive cooling solution for my new Core i7 (was pretty much broke after paying for that and other parts) so I settled with this Artic Cooling. It does a good job and brings the temp down by a few degrees than stock. Quiet too. I'm very happy with it. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:--not best for high overclocks--mounting system looks cheap
Pros:--easy to install with a needle nose pliers--keeps my CPU significantly cooler than stock--reasonably quiet--good value--reasonably small (will fit in most cases) Comment:
I have this cooling my i5 750 that is currently running at 3.7GHZ. At idle temps are in mid to high 30's. I think $30 for a 40% boost in performance is a good deal. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:Some say weak construction, I say it's not. Just install normally and not like a Bull In A China Shop! Mounting on AMD systems places the fan at the bottom and blows the warm air up into your PSU since Revision 2. This move is a let-down for us AMD users since the original version used to attach with the fan blowing air out the rear case fan.
Pros:Price, Quiet, Easy to Mount and Work around inside of case, Lowers Temps, PWM fan. Comment:
I like the fact that these are priced lower, have a 92mm fan and don't swallow the space inside of your case up. With these reductions the cooler performs just as good as some 120mm units yet still allows you to work inside of the case. The fan on this is barely audible at full speed aswell. I wish that Arctic Cooling would have kept the original version that mounted on AMD boards so the fan would blow out the rear of case unlike now with it blowing up and into your PSU. Perhaps keeping both version labeled INTEL and AMD would have been better! Anyhow, with this strike against it for AMD users the unit is still be far a decent heatsink regardless for it's Strengths above. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:Perhaps, and this a big maybe in my opinion, would be the Intel type push pin mounting system. I found the pins a snug fit on the motherboard and I have no doubt that the mount is secure.
Pros:Ease of Installation, excellent cooler for my needs, as there should be at least a 10 degree Celsius drop in core temperature. Comment:
I have been running the 4 cores of my Core i5 750 at 100% duty cycle for the last 8 days. Temperatures on all 4 cores (using Real Temp) averaged between 64 and 68 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are now averaging 45 to 50 degrees Celsius. About 12 to 14 degree reduction. I read all the reviews that I could find is that this is not a cooler for the serious overclocker and that may be the case. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-13-10 11:24 AM |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:- Harder to install on some cases
Pros:- Pretty Easy to install- Not too large and bulky- Very Quiet Comment:
I just recieved this 2 hours ago and decided to go ahead and install it right away. Besides my exhaust fan having to be removed during installation (and put back on of course), it was very easy to install.I have a Q6600 that was stock at 2.4ghz. I'm now OC'ed to 3.0ghz and I idle at (37/36/33/34 degrees). It loads at about 55-60 which is very acceptable. This is really worth it, spend $30 and get 600mhz to gain a NOTICEABLE performance boost. Would recommend to all of my friends! |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:Lack of back plate, although not necessary but still would make many a little more comfortable
Pros:Light; fan actually blows in a proper direction; quiet, temp controlled fan; easy to install; good instructions; supplied with decent thermal compound Comment:
A breeze to install on Gigabyte P55A-UD3 Core i5. Good instructions. From looking at it, it looks like a much better cooler than stock. Hardcore overclockers might go with something else, but I got this for the low noise, and it does it well. It blows toward the back of the case, IMO all HSF's should do this. Not too high or heavy so people with slightly narrow cases shouldn't worry. An excellent mid-range cooler. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:The previous version (FREEZER-64-PWMPRO) mounts so that the fan exhausts to the rear of the case on an AM3 system. The orientation of the fan on this version is upward hence the fins impede the first RAM slot.
Pros:Arctic Cooling decided to go with a fluid dynamic bearing fan for this version. Comment:
I decided to stick with the older FREEZER-64-PWMPRO but replaced it's fan with the Fluid Dynamic Bearing one that came with Revision 2. I wish that Arctic Cooling would have stuck with their original design for AM3 orientation. My Mobo is a Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P |

Cons:None so far
Pros:QuietEasy InstallGood cost/power ratio Comment:
Going from my Stock Cooler on my Q6600 made a ton of difference.Overclocked to 3.0Ghz from 2.66Ghz, at 100% CPU Load (on all 4 cores) Temps were going to 77 Degrees and idling at around 55 degrees. Now I idle at 44 degrees and at max load run at 60 degrees Celsius which is acceptable.Recommended. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:- Instructions fail hard (took a bit of thinking to figure out how to mount for me, a first time builder.)
Pros:- Well Built- Very easy install.- Works well with a wide arrangement of hardware.- Comes with heat sink compound pre-applied, so if you don't think you able able to apply your self. Comment:
For the price it is a very good heat sink, keeps my AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE at a very reasonable temperature even when overclocked. Very easy install even for a first time builder. |

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:- Not as quiet as I tought it would be
Pros:- Better cooling than stock heatsink- Quieter than stock heatsink- 6 years warranty- Very easy to install Comment:
I bought this to build a quiet PC and this heatsink is not as quiet as I tought it would be but it is still quieter than the stock one. It's light and feels good quality. It keeps an AMD Athlon II x4 620 at 33°C at Idle (800MHz) as per Speedfan but I didn't tried under loadVery easy to install, I tried it on an AM3 board. ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:- None. Not as strong a performer as some other heatsinks, but it costs much less. So it's not what I would classify as a weakness.
Pros:- Price. It's very inexpensive.- Performance. Does a great job on my OC'ed Q9550- Quiet. Comment:
I'm very satisfied with this purchase. My Q9550's stock heatsink was actually smaller than my E4300's! No wonder people have thermal problems with these CPU's. Anybody picking up a Yorkfield, while they're still around, should not be using the stock cooler, IMO.Anyways I mounted the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 with some MX-2, and it runs great. OC'ed to 3.4 ghz at 1.35 volts (bios), Prime95 stable. Running In-place large FTTs on Prime95 (creates more heat than the other torture tests) I top out at 51C after running 24 hours. It's important to note that I never hit those temperatures with regular use. CPU idles at 25-27C, with no throttling whatsoever.Mounting was easy. However, it's important to be cautious with the plastic wedges that hold the push-pins down. The heads of these can break easily, as one did for me. I was still able to easily mount/unmount using pliers and a screwdriver, even with the head of the piece being broken. Some of you may require better cooling than this, and there are definitely options for you. You just have to be prepared to spend more money. If you're a budget OC'er as I am, or just looking for a quiet solution that is superior to stock cooling, this is the heatsink for you. |
price is not cheapest heatsink but probably best heatsink for under 30 bucks. another weakness is the fan is hard to remove and you have to remove it to install it on am3 board. but other than installation its pretty awesome.
