ASUS GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) ENGT430/DI/1GD3(LP) Video Card
Comment:
This factor rocks! I wasn't expecting a powerhouse for what I was budgeting for, but this exceeded my expectations! I got it on sale, which was wonderful of course. I upgraded from a 256MB GeForce 6600, and now, at least according to Windows expertise index, the low point in my program is truly my processor (A pentium D 3.2 ghz). This card prices a 6.6 for each graphics selections. The ASUS software package is truly excellent and intuitive, the fan is very quiet (quieter then my stock heatsink fan), and installation was effortless as pie. I would install the driver from the website, not the cd, as the cd driver is older. The power consumption is very modest as properly, and even with my modest 400W power provide I'm fine, and there are no more energy connectors that you need to have to be concerned about. The temperature is always inside secure levels also. Shipping was quickly as usual with newegg, and wonderful packaging! Also 1GB memory and DX11 nearly appears like overkill on this card, but not actually complaining! None that I can consider of.. comes with almost everything you could need for a budget dedicated graphics card. This a single kicks integrated graphic's *** any day, for a great price. I suppose if it was totally free I would be happier, but oh properly. This will play Battlefield Undesirable Company two on all of the highest settings at 1680x1050 at about 35 to 40 FPS. It will play Far Cry 2 at medium settings without having lag. It plays GTA IV nicely, with the most up-to-date patches and some uncomplicated DIY personal computer fixes (although GTA IV is primarily CPU intensive). It plays each and every game superior then my old card! This also rocks playing high def films. I utilised to get a lot of lag on Avatar 1080p, but now I can skip around in Windows Media Player and it starts promptly and takes time to buffer. I Adore THIS CARD and would get yet again!

This card will clearly beat any on-board graphics any MB will offer you in color, depth, clarity and speed. Windows 7 graphics ratings will enhance drastically (mine went from three.five to more than 6.two). 1GB of memory for this kind of income is extremely impressive. For the income spent, I consider I've far exceeded expectations for my micro-ATX board develop I just place together. I can now think about this a gaming Pc with the upgrade this card provided. Solid construction is good as nicely. Keeping everything in viewpoint, I can't think of one particular. I may possibly just have to upgrade my XFX 9800GT on my primary Pc with this card. Thanks newegg!

Comment:
This card is the finest video card out on the industry for HTPCs. I construct plenty of them a month and this is the one particular I constantly suggest and 95% of the time put into the HTPC. The HDMI performs ideal. The potential to turn it into a low profile card also is excellent and best if you decide to move into a smaller situation. It handles BluRay films with no problems. Use it with Media-Portal team-mediaportal.com and of course just Windows MCE. The price is wonderful, the unit has been wonderful for the last year that I have been using them. I have three of them in my HTPCs. None so far in the year I have had only 15+ making HTPCs Really fantastic card. Appropriate now I can't assume of anything except for minimizing the heat and sound maybe? Which I have no issue with just figured I would put that out there. I really like them.

Potent, Efficient & Quiet GPU. Plays Blu-rays good. WEI Scores 6.6 on both Graphics fields in WIN7 x64. Heat Sink/Fan takes up also substantially room (physically) so that I can not install a card in the slot below. Essentially lost the one particular available PCI-e slot for my Tv Tuner card. Going back to smaller GPU, unless I can discover an alternate heat-sink/fan for this card. I would have provided it five stars otherwise.

Comment:
this video card is by far hands down the ideal video card for constructing a new htpc or upgrading your current htpc. i wasn't for positive about it when i purchased i back in nov. of 2010. because then i will not acquire any other card for any htpc. i have had clients get mad at me for that but the moment we hook it up and they use it for a week they call and inform us they love it. now on specific builds we will have to put in a heavy duty one particular if honestly needed. when you install it and hook it up hdmi the machine is prepared to go and the resolution and every little thing else is accomplished and setup correctly no additional resizing the screen on the tvs or monitors. all you have to do is decide if you want the audio to go out the hdmi or your spdif. if you seriously want to tweak it you nevertheless can just like the other individuals. i have ggetting them for ๟ or much less, based if i buy in bulk or on sale. i read an write-up when i was deciding if i must acquire it or not and it known as it "the new king of the htpc video card" it istru not significantly yet. i have not had 1 fail on me yet and have them in 3 of my private htpcs at property... it was excellent that asus made it a low profile card also. you can just slip off the face plate - take off the vga port place the new face plate on and now you have a lp card. its very nice they did it that whytime for a new laptop. i have been jumping into all 3 boxes and writing plus deleting stuff

ASUS GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) ENGT430/DI/1GD3(LP) Video Card
Comment:
Inexpensive video card with reliable chipset, 1 GB is way over the leading! Don't actually see the benefit of possessing this card. Can't seriously play games with it, even slowed on busy screen on Plants Vs. Zombies. My method is fitted with a Phenom II X6 1055T, and it definitely is the weakest link. I'm obtaining a Radeon video card. The uneducaed clods at NVIDIA, apparently, can't get their act together about compiling a decent driver. It won't recognize my monitor so I'm forced to use a VGA cable, it has some weird quirk so I have to reinstall the driver EVERYTIME I want to play Darksiders. Your finest bet is to go with yet another video card, totally has no genuine function, unless you're into heavy video editing, which is about what this card can manage. Low cost and disappointing. It's not negative for the cash, hence the 3 stars.

Tends to make the ASUS 27" monitor it's hooked up to appear fantastic at 1920c1080 running HD DVD's and streaming video at 720p. Runs quiet and cool adequate. I'm positive it fits perfectly in a modest situation exactly where you will need low-profile with the low-profile brackets taht are included, but in my case it also has sufficient git-up-and-go to deserve a spot in a situation exactly where you could fit some thing larger. Assuming it lasts a extended long time, no cons for now. Fits in my modest form element HTPCFairly quietSupports desktop size adjustment (my earlier one particular didn't)Great colors VGA port doesn't fit in low profile so if you want VGA AND low profile, you'll have to locate a workaround(minor ) The driver on the CD was old and when I upgraded to new 1, the NVidia Control panel wouldn't work. Haven't truly tried gaming with this. Serves my purpose which is to play videos/movies and stream to my Television

Moderately rapidly 3D (𞻬+ passmark) in a card that does not hog power (doesn't even have a seperate power connector), and at a price tag point that offers it a really excellent overall performance-to-price tag ratio. Runs standard nVidia driver & adjustment software. Installed with out any difficulties. The heavy aluminum fins on this are thick sufficient that it could run into one more card, depending on slot spacing. It doesn't even come close to causing a problem in my HP midsized tower. If you do not want to likelihood overtaxing your wimpy 425W energy provide, and nevertheless want decent 3D gaming capability, this is the finest selection I've identified. Get one when they are back in stock. My other Asus items have thus far been totally dependable.

I own an acer x3400-u2022 sff. I fit completely in the slot with the bracket supplied. The drivers installed properly, and the efficiency has been what it was sold to be. In a modest form computer such as mine, the vga port does not fit with the card in the bracket. As an alternative I ran a dvi cable to my monitor. It is excellent to know if your monitor can use diverse connectors. I am not a hardcore gamer, and this card suits my wants considerably. I play civilization V at high settings, and the card has been very quiet.

Fantastic card for HTPC and light to moderate gaming based on resolution. Incredibly quiet, stable drivers, and has all existing technologies. Matches Radeon 5570 for gaming efficiency, and surpases it for HTPC. Optional included brackets give you lots of flexibility. Takes up two slots due to heatsink, but in exchange you get extremely quiet efficiency. Only DDR3, but all manufactures are currently working with DDR3 rather of the reference GDDR5 mainly because of price. Rates a 6.6 in each WEI x64.

Function quite well with Ubuntu 10.ten, no complications with driver. This is on of the more care no cost upgrades I've ever had with a video card. Operates nicely with 1.two.two and tested old Half-Life on it with no issues. Handled double extended displays with ease. Just just made my speedy slap together AMD 64x4 technique really feel much more super. None encountered but I don't know much about this dust resistant fan factor, I figure I'll nevertheless clean out the machine every month.

IDK heat sink is too big I wanted to use that card as physX. Asus genuinely need to have to stop making heat sink so freaking major that generally get in the way & causing conflict with other cards. Most of their custom video cards are the very same quite enormous heat sink. Which I have the ASUS ENGTX580 DCII that take up 3 slot.

Very quiet, my CPU fan is noisier than this card. My Windows Encounter jumped up a bit from four.9 to 6.6 on gaming graphics. Not as very good as I was hoping when moving up from the old 8500Gt w/ 256Mb. Confident I CAN run Crysis on High but it nevertheless is sluggish so nonetheless running at medium settings which I could with on my 8500Gt. Also have some noise when working with VGA even on the DVI port (using a DVI/VGA adapter and VGA cable to the monitor) fortunately it is not noticeable except on specific background colors so not that big of a deterrent (hopefully they can fix this with a update later on). I know it is a not a gaming card but I expected a little too significantly for what I got....considering the jump from my 8500gt to this card. I guess I will have to wait and acquire a much better card for gaming and use this 1 for Physx. Don't let this discourage you from getting it as seriously this is only 1 my opinion and I am rather picky :)

I bought this to test out a theory: if this card + an old Pentium 4 + CoreAVC + Cuda can handle 720p/1080p video decoding in an HTPC setup. Passed with flying colours. Even a high bitrate movie like Avatar played smoothly at 1080p.

Really great card with 3D capability. Low energy requirement (only needs a 450w PS), small form factor video card, very cheap upgrade for low finish systems, and makes games look amazing. It's not a geforce 580 lol. Really, so far none that I've identified. If you have a low finish system like I do and you want a good graphics card, then this is the card you want. I bought a HP desktop and wanted something other than the integrated intell graphics, and this card worked perfectly for what I necessary. The only thing I wasn't content with and it has absolutely nothing to do with the card, is that my new desktop came with a 250w PS and this card needs at least a 450w. Lucky I had a 550w in my seriously old non-operating desktop. Nothing to do with the video card, but just some thing to maintain in mind when obtaining this card, and IMO you should get this card if you have a low finish PC that needs a graphics card upgrade, nicely worth the low cost.
