ASUS P7P55D PRO ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:- Died while overclocking so I had to RMA it- Unable to get it to overclock beyond BLCK=160 with Turbo enabled and full memory bandwidth (DDR3-1600)- Erased my saved OC profiles when overclocking failed- Strangely changed my LAN physical address when overclocking failed

Pros:+ Good connector layout for easy cabling+ Plenty of room around CPU socket for aftermarket coolers+ LEDs help with diagnosing problems+ Power savings via EPU6 software
Comment:
My setup includes a i5-750, CM Hyper 212+ and G.Skill ECO memory. In general, this seems to be a good board if you run at stock speeds. I wish the automatic overclocking failure recovery was more stable. When overclocking, I now check the LEDs and turn off the power at the power supply when it fails to POST instead of using the case's power switch (so far the replacement board hasn't died). When my board died, I think the BIOS chip got fried which caused the memory LED to stay lit up (implying a memory issue when there was none). Special thanks to NCIX's technical support team and the RMA cross shipping process to get me up and running again. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-04-10 02:33 PM

Nice!
Comment:
This mobo was much easier to install than my older pentium D. I dig the LED trouble lights for DRAM, CPU, etc. That helped isolate a memory issue. Speaking of which, I don't like the single retaining clip design. Drivers, utilities, etc all work great.

Love this Board
Comment:
First build for myself, went in really easy and everything booted just great. I had a bit of problems with the ram seating properly, so I'm not super sold on the single clip design, but that's my only gripe. Heck, I've got a window in my case, and it's pretty to look at.

ASUS P7P55D PRO ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:The sound card.

Pros:Supports lots of IO and doesn't crap out. Very reliable.Never has bluecreened.
Comment:
This has been the best MB I have had and I had many. I loaded this one up with two Raid 0 pairs of 1TB each plus a boot drive. I run it with th 9800GT, An Auzentech Prelude 7.1, a USB HDPVR, a satellite DVB card, a Bluy Ray DVD, a USB UIRT with some security cameras. It is teh at the heart of a HTPC and also doubles for household security. It never crashed and I have really hammered on it with IO and lots of real time HD video decoding which takes the E8400 up to about 80%. It has never blue screened and in a year and half I have probably only had to forcibly reboot it a couple of times. My only complaint is the crappy sound card on board. That is why I bought the Auzentech. I run XP SP3 byt will soon move to win 7.

Excellent MB
Comment:
this MB is Great, installed easy , worked very first boot up and performs like a Lamborgini. I cant think of any Cons with this board other then you may have to update some of the included utility software included with it but that's not the MB's fault.

Best board I've ever had
Comment:
It's been a few years since I built a machine from scratch. This board was perfect. Very easy to setup, everything fit on the first try, and everything is compatible. I am very happy. My Core i5 works awesome too.

Best board for core i5 and core i7
Comment:
This is the easiest to use board for both core i7 and core i5 CPUs. Having tried a few different models from Asus, this is the only board which installs hassle free. That being said, you should get the latest BIOS update from Asus, for any motherboard, when building a new system. This board has every option you could need, for most applications. And supports two PCI Express video cards.

ASUS P7P55D PRO ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Had trouble installing Windows 7 from USB boot

Pros:Lot's of features, plenty of SATA ports, good layout. Overall a great motherboard
Comment:
Aside from all the great features, I'm giving 4/5 stars because of the issues I had trying to install Windows 7 (64bit) from the USB boot. I'm not sure if anyone had this same issue but for some reason, it didn't seem to be able to detect my USB boot stick, even after configuring the BIOS to different boot priorities and physically removing my DVD drive (leaving my SATA Hard Disk and Graphics card connected). It kept giving me the message, "Reboot and select  proper Boot device or insert  Boot Media in select ed Boot device and press a key".I gave up and decided to put my old Win XP DVD in to see if there was really any issues and oddly enough, it worked. So I burned the Windows 7 ISO onto a DVD (using the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool). I insert ed it back in, and voila! It was able to boot from my DVD drive and install Windows 7. What a headache that gave me. I thought I had a defective mobo.

Comment:
Great motherboard, easy to use, great features and accessories included. This is the 2nd Asus MOBO Ive gotten through NCIX, no issues with either.Everything is laid out perfectly, no clearance issues with my GTX 260 which was a big concern on this build. ASUS FTW!

Excellent Motherboard
Comment:
Teamed with i5 and 4G of corsair ram pc12800 and 1T WD caviar black, this rig flies. Booted right away and loaded W7. When OC, make sure that you force the BIOS to use 1600, boost to 1.65V and load XMP for corsair memory otherwise it is difficult to clock above 3.2G, currently stable at 3.5G which is about limit on stock intel fan

Worth the price!
Comment:
Picked this motherboard in my very first computer build. Great price to performance ratio. Comes with all the features expected from Asus (software to manually and automatically overclock the system). The PRO and EVO are almost the same except the EVO comes with more overclocking features, for a lower price tho the PRO is well worth it.

ASUS P7P55D PRO ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:-I had a hard time knowing if I installed the memory modules properly, since the slot comes with one latch (presumably so you can install/uninstall the memory without having to take out the video card(s))

Pros:-numerous USB/SATA ports-roomy (although the CPU fan is awfully close to the RAM)
Comment:
-no problems with it yet-the trouble shooting LEDs is a brilliant idea - saved me quite a bit of time -it's a lot nicer looking than the lga 775 asus motherboards

Great MOBO
Comment:
This was a great board to build with. I haven't done a build for quite some time and was a little worried that things had changed considerably. I found the documentation very good and build was a breeze! MOBO started up the first time with no problem at all. This is a great MOBO and should provide great service for many years to come.

The Gigabyte board I bought blew a CPU... changed out to the ASUS P7P55D PRO and it has been running well. The manual was a lot better and the overall ease of assembly just seemed more confident.

Wow what a sweet mobo
Comment:
1st let me say I haven't done a build since a P166 was the top of the line cpu. What a sweet board this is. The build was way to easy. If you can attach a static strap to your wrist you can build a really nice machine. Everything went together as per the manual. The memory configuration in the manula is incorrect, but is corrected at Asus's website. Over clocking was a breeze and the CPU is running at a cool 26 degrees C. If ya want a solid mobo this should be high on your list. Good service as always from Tiger.
