Runs every little thing I have thrown at it devoid of a hiccup.Easy overclocking stays cool. Appears extremely stable. Its not a 6950 ... I was very impressed at the packaging Asus. Appears as an individual thought out the boxing to reflect the truth you just spent good funds, and you really feel superior about that purchase when it isn't just bubble wrapped.

Electrically really nicely built. PCB has second PCIe power connector populated, which is probably good. Dead solid at factory clocks and beyond. Voltage enhance is an advertised function. In common, a superior card at a vanilla price. Longer card layout locations GPU significantly farther to the correct than any other on the marketplace, in turn placing the heatsink farther to the proper. Overall, great enough that I bought a second; dead solid in CrossfireX as effectively. With fans set to minimum speed, each cards independently emitted a mid-range buzz/ticking clearly audible outdoors a fairly open High Airflow case. The noise wasn't air moving, and it was identifiable and stood out more than all other noise sources in the space, which includes when the case had its 200mm fans maxed. Placing a finger on the 6850 fan stopped the noise. Additional investigation showed the fans themselves had been not notably loud but did have some considerable vibration in open air. Because the fans are tough-mounted to the airflow shroud, I believe the metal-and-plastic shroud acts as a resonator or sounding board for vibration; my fan/shroud assemblies tested separately on a lab bench exhibited the objectionable noise behavior at all fan speeds. Exceptionally low noise was featured in quite a few evaluations of this card. My cards would be by pure decibel measurement as nicely--but because the noise was narrowband it was far more annoying than the number would indicate. I assume most cards are fine but the shroud style exacerbates any variances in fans. With two examples in hand (and a bunch of silent pc forum discussions), I consider buyers may take this possibility into account in particular for open-style circumstances. On the other hand, these could be exceptional cards with just fan replacement. Volt manage is restricted to the ugly SmartDoctor utility at this time and can't be decreased below factory settings. I'm not returning the entire cards, but as a lengthy-term ASUS user would enjoy to help them in diagnosis.

I primarily play Battlefield series games and MMOs. A few games I've tried with this card are as follows: Battlefield Bad Corporation two, Left 4 Dead 2, Starcraft two, and Rift. So far I have settings maxed on all of those games and it runs properly. I've upgraded from a Nvidia Geforce GTS 250 to this card and am very pleased with it. I wouldn't genuinely contact these cons, but some could think about them such. The photos of the graphic card are unintentionally misleading. The pictures show no required 6 pin connector and it in fact demands two 6-pin connectors. This didn't bother me mainly because considering that this was an upgrade from my earlier card which essential 1 6-pin connector, I wasn't surprised. The 2 6-pin connectors are on its side so beware if you have a Mid sized tower like me, mine barely fit mainly because of the plugs added to the dimensions of the card. I want to make a few notes here. 1st off, I have never ever received a product from Newegg as DOA, so excellent news there. Asus assistance verified a query of mine, they took about three days to respond but I did get a correct response. I've been satisified with Asus thus far. My only concern is that of UPS. Recently I've ordered 3 shipments from Newegg via UPS' simple delivery and am not pleased. I reside in a duplex that has a side entrance (my entrance) and a front entrance (downstairs neighbor). I'm waiting for the 3rd shipment nowadays, but the past two have both been left on the porch of the front entrance. This is expected if no one is household, but both instances I was and my neighbors had been. Each occasions UPS' driver set the package down, knocked and walked back to his truck without waiting for them to answer the door to correct him on exactly where my entrance was. This is concerning particularly in below freezing weather and the truth that these shipments were very important computer parts. Look at upgrading delivery.

Cons:- At this price point, no complaints.

Pros:- Best price/performance GPU out there at the time of posting ($120 after MIR)- Very nice custom cooler by ASUS, quality products and very reliable company.- Does not consume a lot of power, making this compatible for most people even with weaker PSUs.

One of the best midrange graphics cards for a budget gamer. Best bang for buck

Quiet (my 8800gt was finding genuinely loud playing existing games), overclocks properly CCC not as intuitive as Nvidia computer software Hooked up through hdmi to a 1080p television, had to adjust in settings to get rid of black bars. Overclocked to 6870 speeds with no voltage raise. Not a fan of the layout of CCC, but its the net age, I figured it out.Playing games with no AA the card tends to make zero noise, cranking up the AA I've heard the fan wind up slightly for a number of seconds prior to going back to quiet levels

Bought this almost two years ago and still am able to play most games at either max or very high or high settings. It is however getting to the point where it is out dated however, for a value priced card, it performs quite well. You will be able to run most new games and very good settings.

Comment:
Somewhat rapid small card out of the box. Very easily overclocked to 900񳁮 on 1.72v producing it a small quicker, enabling me to play Crysis on high settings, with very high shaders, quite high textures, and 4x AA with 34-50 fps. This card insists on getting overclocked by Asus Smart Physician software program. This software program just barely does what you want it to, no profiles, no frills. The memory clock is very limited in it's overclock range, and the voltage is locked unless you use Wise Medical doctor. Couldn't mod Afterburner to alter this card as other people have claimed, yes I know, and performed the process to no avail. After all is stated and done, I bought this card to save me money. That is precisely what it accomplished, but I consider I would have been superior off spending a tiny much more funds on a quicker card for a small much more funds. This however, is not Asus's fault, just my poor judgment. can't dock an egg for that. Others have stated really high overclocks for this card, but I honestly do not see how. Many reviewers have made the claim as 940 becoming this cards overclock ceiling, but i could only get it to 930񳁮 on 1.22v with no receiving a "graphic card failed to respond, and has recovered" from windows in Furmark anxiety testing. I'm questioning if other individuals are stress testing their overclocks on these cards? Card does almost everything its advertised to do at a generous value. Overclock-in a position to 6870 specs. I am pleased, and considering Crossfireing a different.

Premium video card. Asus top quality. Packed into a premium package with all required accessories. I have bought a lot of Asus motherboards and a number of of their video cards more than the years and have by no means been disappointed. The shroud for the fan makes the length of the card yet another centimeter longer, but, you shouldn't be attempting to squeeze this factor into a smaller case anyway. The fan and heat sink are really nice. Solid and heavy also come to mind. Appears to me that the best video cards will constantly have a 256bit or larger memory bus. This card was the newest of amds 256bit and I'm extremely content with it. For my builds, I always put up the large income for the video card and ram. My processors are often the smaller and much more efficient ones ࿍watt 5050e).For the many power advisors out there, I need to say that this card is operating fine on a a lot smaller power provide than everyone expects. You require to take into account your components and the authoritative hyperbole in these forums just before you make a decision on the wattage you feel you require.

Bang for Buck - five stars For those of you with instances that do not demand tools. I encountered a slight problem. The ASUS card has a metal nameplate along the edge where you would commonly lock tabs in place to secure the card in place. The nameplate makes it IMPOSSIBLE to carrectly install the card. You will will need a modest phillips head screw driver to take away 4 screws that secure the metal piece that runs the whole length of the leading of the card. Removing the screws enables you to detach the ASUS nameplate and permitting the the tabs to lock down.

Haven't attempted maxing out the card, but I was playing BF Poor Corporation two on max settings such as the aliasing on max @ 1680x1050 with ZERO lag. Good video quality. the graphics looking really spectacular now compared to my previous 8800gtx which was really a great card (until it went haywire). Fan is on about 40% and sits at about 41 degrees Celsius doing nothing. haven't checked it even though playing games, but at only 40% fan power, it keeps it cool sufficient to play hardcore games and can't hear the card at all.I really wish I could say additional about this card but I just can't feel of anything..It's simply a wonderful card :) Quite satisfied with it. None that I could possibly feel of. If some of you are thinking about getting a 5850 instead, don't. Get the 6850. Newer architecture, excellent overclocking and adjusting, and just way much more potential. and like I stated, this card is simply just wonderful. Picture oneself obtaining a video card that will satisfy you for below 赨, and you will most surely obtain this one.

Scales fairly nicely in crossfire, plays everything I've got, such as Crysis, in Ultra with at least 2xAA smooth as butter at 1080p. This doesn't incorporate Fallout: New Vegas, but that's hardly the card's fault. Bethesda just dropped the ball on that certain game. They're priced so well, I felt like I stole them. They're larger than I expected, and they get fairly warm when overclocked. They also put out some noise if the fan speed goes above or is set above 50%. ASUS programs are quite bad, so is their assistance page. I've never ever mentioned something bad about ASUS just before, but they're beginning to go the way of the dinosaur with end-user support. It seems like every person's performing it, although. Haven't attempted to overclock them too high, they get unstable at stock voltages with clocks above 900񳀼 in my system. My case and whole set-up is cramped, and I don't want to raise the voltage until I can give them much more space later. This, however, is not the fault of the cards. Just sub-par preparing on my part.

For the price card can't be beat at stock settings i get: runs crysis on very high 25-50 fps (i prefer high 30-80fps 1080p 4xaa) Rift on Ultra settings 25-60 fps everything else has been 30 fps + on idle card stays between 39-44 C on load never passes 70C usually runs between 59-65C ambient temp (18-26c ) IMO there's really no point in getting anything better than a 6850 at the moment runs pretty much everything on high and when it cant anymore CROSSFIREwhich will be extremely affordable when prices drop  in the next 6-12 months (my guess comparing it to 5750 prices 100-150$ range)

I stuck it in and it began up flawlessly.Overclocked simply but only following encountering some troubles (see cons later) and stayed fairly cool and silent as well.Low cost since Newegg pulled through once once again. The bundled software program is horrible but that's not worth taking off an egg. The actual issue is with SmartDoctor. The version that it is bundled with doesn't enable you to tweak the voltages at all. To be able to set the voltage, you have to go on Asus' internet site and download the most recent version five.74. The dilemma is that this version doesn't show up when you pick the 6850 but I was able to come across it on the 6970's page(http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us). Download and install that along with AMD's newest Catalyst drivers and you're superior to go.Can't save profiles to SmartDoctor. The box certain is fairly. Received a dead card. System just will not boot no matter what I try. Asus support is HORRIBLE. I've been trying for 3 days now and I still can\'t reach any person. The one time I sat for 45 minutes on hold and lastly got a individual they just took my name and number down and said I'd get a call back from a technician. That was 3 days ago and I'm nonetheless waiting. Now when I attempt and call them I just get a busy signal. I've been working with Asus items for years. My motherboard, monitor, television card, and my laptop are all Asus products and I've constantly been pleased with them. But now that I in fact have a difficulty and have identified out just how bad their support is I may well in no way use an additional Asus product once again.
