Pros Good searching box Upon assembly the CPU light remained on regardless of processor on it. Won't post practically nothing, and now its on its way for an RMA but New egg refuses to refund due to the fact I've decided no longer to pursue assembly.Thought I was obtaining a trusted corporation but looks like I was incorrect. Won't be acquiring from New Egg anymore if this is how they treat their buyers. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Buyer,We apologize for the concerns you are experiencing with this motherboard. Please speak to me at OC_Support@asus.com and reference situation number NE0707 so that I may possibly get much more facts about your program configuration. To ensure that you get a totally functional replacement, I can have you send the board straight to me so I can oversee the duplication testing as well as the testing of the replacement.Sincerely,ASUS Assistance Team

Completely excellent board! Great overclocking attributes and includes sata v3. The temperature monitors on the Asus Pc Probe look a tiny flakey as it will read temperatures such as 33 degrees farhenheit a single moment and then drop to 92 degrees the subsequent (literally seconds apart). This motherboard is totally excellent! It was included in the personal computer that we tried to create in order to reach a 7.9 WEI.The components in are create are:Intel i7 980xAsus Rampage IIICorsair Specialist Ax1200 1200W Energy supply2x Cruical Ssd (sata III) 3x Nvidia GTX 4802x G.Ability DDR3 2000 F3-16000CL8T-12GBTDD2x Corsair SSD (sata II)

This is a Fantastic board with everything you'd want from a newer board to upgrade to. It's Large, don't order a midtower case as i can barely fit it into my older Antec full tower. It's an XL-ATX, so when you order a situation... ORDER Big. This order has been a disaster as a entire, but this board is worth the funds.

This board has a enormous amount of capabilities and looks slick. I haven't used it sufficient to give a far better assessment for "pros" ... cons seem to be taking over this evaluation. The Sata 6GB "Channel" keeps dropping out... IE the drives "disappear." I RMA'd my board to Asus... and they sent it back as "tested ok." Nothing was completed. I known as Asus back... and the only insight they could provide is that my Antec 1000 watt energy supply had an concern on one rail or wasn't sufficient energy (eh?). Of course, the PSU was tested and works just fine... it powered my last Asus P6t board just fine. They also tried to blame the hard drives. I have 6 NEW tricky drives ƒ Mushkin SSd's and 4 WD Black 1 TB 6GB). All are brand new. No matter what raid configuration I do on the 6GB channel... the Raid array or drives drop out. The Mushkin SSDs work perfectly fine on the 3GB channel.I am rather frustrated... my p6x58d board has ram problems (amongst other troubles), but I just use it since I'm tired of dealing with support. I can't even use this new Rampage 3 board, and I have 񘠄 worth of computer system hardware sitting. I'm contemplating no much more ASUS. IT's not worth it I've purchased 100% Asus for the last 9 years. I've built many computers for loved ones, businesses, and myself. I've referred Asus to hundreds of clients and finish users. These referrals have ended due to the amount of "unsolved" difficulties encountered with the last 2 Asus boards I purchased.I am incredibly tired of dealing with this. I am calling ASUS to deal with this tomorrow... once more. If I do not have a resolution, I will be searching for a new motherboard corporation.

Nice searching board with best-notch capabilities (if you can get them to perform). My board has massive USB difficulties and the onboard sound will not "kick-in" till the method has been active for at least 15 minutes. I emailed Asus Tech assistance and received a reply within three days. I replied back with the info they requested and haven't heard a factor from them since. Not 1 word. I have emailed them now 7 times and it seems they just refuse to reply. It has been a month due to the fact their e-mail to me. What would you call this in Legal terms? I'm 62 years old and have been utilizing Asus for a lengthy, extended time for my personal develop as well as a lot of, many Client builds. I'm finished with Asus. I can no longer RMA this board to newegg and Asus refuses to communicate so I am out the price of this board + other boards in my shop that I simply was also disgusted to RMA (my fault, I comprehend). With EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI and others, i will continue my builds Without having Asus. In my opinion, considering that I am beneath warranty (board is 3 months old), this is absolutely nothing short of FRAUD on the portion of Asus. They will NOT honor their warranty and I have communicated with them over and more than and more than. Adequate is enough. Perhaps it's Lawyer time.

Funny point is, I have been doing this long sufficient to know superior, and I have pics of it as I packed for shipping, THERE Had been NO BENT PINS!!!!! I will Under no circumstances devote an additional dime with these crooks once more. I spent 7k dollars and they gonna try and stiff me for a 400 dollar motherboard. Before all that, I had to call and report 2 consumer service reps for getting totally RUDE to me and my wife. The service SUCKS..... I am not saying they did it on purpose, BUT I KNOW FOR Fact I DIDNT BEND THEM Only reason there is on egg, trigger system wont let me choose .....

After reading a lot of critiques right here I was worried issues may possibly not perform the very first time. Even so, almost everything worked great! The quantity of settings is phenominal! I was easily in a position to overclock to 4.5ghz. I might attempt pushing to 5ghz tonight. I am employing water cooling. The only con I have noticed so far is subpar ethernet performance. I commonly get around 3MB/s DL speed from my provider. For whatever purpose, the ethernet seems to leading out about 1MB/s now. In all probability a driver problem. When installing Windows 7, the raid controller isn't recognized. You have to put in the cd-rom that comes with the board and navigate to the driver. Then all functions effectively. Also, for these wondering if the Corsair Dominator Memory CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 works, it did for me with no problems. All 24gb recognized.

This board is decked out with very a couple of attributes and it's quite straightforward to get lost in the settings for this factor.-BIOS has an Car Overclock feature. You can select "Auto" mode, i7-965 Extreme Ɠ.33GHz) and i7-Crazy Ɠ.7GHz). In testing I was in a position to get my i7-950 from three.07GHz to 3.7GHz and it was stable. Make confident you have enough cooling even though, this can be dangerously hot.-Motherboard has two CPU 8-pin power connections, which produced boosting my overclock from the automatic three.7 to four.two really stable and straightforward to do.-PCIe x16 slots 1 and 3 run at full x16 even in SLI. It's not typically a board can do that these days.-I/O panel is flooded with ports such as the ROG Bluetooth which can be utilised as any other USB Bluetooth would be. USB three. is excellent and being x58 it's complete speed. There are TONS of 4-pin fan headers on this board and they're spaced nicely. I was in a position to hook up just about every fan in my case to the motherboard and have them all monitored, however I nevertheless have three open headers. This a single nearly made me want to NOT obtain the board: There's only one internal USB header. I personal a Cosmos 1000 case and I need two headers for the front panel alone, so being a 踰 board I expected at least 2 headers. There are only two selections I know of to add additional headers, a single of which is to acquire a PCI to USB expansion card with a 9-pin header on it. That wouldn't work although, I was running two dual-slot video cards in SLI and that blocked the PCI slot. The only other option is the NZXT IU01, and it functions best but can be tricky to discover. The included SATA cables are also all have appropriate angle on one particular finish and straight on the other. This created it kind of challenging for me to use them for cable management considering that the motherboard SATA connections are turned sideways, I had to use some other SATA cables I had laying around. The SATA six controller is a Marvell chip. Sad to say Marvell doesn't pass TRIM commands down to SSDs so it seriously made the SATA six useless to me. I had to use the SATA II. I was initially going to purchase the EVGA Classified three E770 but they promptly disappeared from stock. This board happened to be the subsequent closest motherboard in specifications and it worked out perfectly given that I currently had just about every other part and just required the board.I suggest shopping for the NZXT IU01 for this board, working with only 1 USB header is a PITA.Core i7-950Asus Rampage III Extreme12GB DDR3-1600 G.ability Ɩx2GB)two EVGA GTX 580 SuperClocked in SLIImportant C300 boot drive2x WD Caviar black 1TBCooler Master Hyper 212+CM Cosmos 1000Cooler Master Silent Pro 1000W PSU

I really like this motherboard. It has choices galore. My only complaint is ASUS list of qualified vendors is rather outdated and/or incomplete. The options for flashing BIOS from a USB are very restricted per user guide, of the compatible flash drives only a couple are obtainable from Newegg. This is listed as an ATX...it's not. It is an extended ATX. I have an Antec Lanboy Air case, amongst the size of the motherboard and the CoolerMaster V10, it barely fits. This mixture does not permit operating optical drives at the top front, they had to be relocated to middle front. I guess what I am saying is watch your sizes and be prepared for a tight fit.

Super simple to setup and oc. One particular usb header, swift fix though: normal usb to usb-header (~ũ.50 every), plug the usb connection to usb ports of the back of the mb. My case has grommets exactly where I can pass these extension via. Now I have four fully functional front usb ports at the front of my case.No quad sli (four physical cards). Finest mb i have ever used. Construct: i7 950 @ 4.two 1.35v w/ HT on, Corsair Dominators 12GB @ 1600, 3x Zotac GTX 470 in triple sli @ 850񳊔񳏀.

Immediately after reading these evaluations, I was crossing my fingers it would perform. Worked devoid of fail. Board has limitless possible. So many functions. North Bridge has stayed fairly cool, even with no the included fan heatsink. Appreciate the lights inside, including the ROG logo. Included several SATA cables. BIOS is easy to navigate and even if you aren't an overclocking pro, you can just bump up your processor to the subsequent greater with CPU Level Up. This board has much more capabilities than most individuals would ever use. Like overclocking with your smartphone through bluetooth. Or Liquid Nitrogen mode, most individuals don't even have access to the stuff. 1 usb head tends to make me sad. I don't use front USB that much, but it created me decide on amongst utilizing the front panel or a USB card reader. R3G and R3F each have two USB heads, so if you don't require the additional bells and whistles, you could want to verify those out and save some $$$. SATA 6 is useless. Can't raid with it. All my connections are on the SATA three. Hasn't created any speed distinction. If you have an OCZ SSD, make sure you download the Intel RST drivers. I didn't know this until I went onto the OCZ website otherwise your drive shows up as a removable and you cannot upgrade the firmware.

Fantastic motherboard, simple install, easy BIOS setting. The Marvell controller is a bit finicky when it comes to SSDs. Steer clear of this MB if making use of SSDs as a boot drive, at least till superior Marvell drivers become readily available. SSDs work excellent as slaves though.

Solid perfomerQuite a few possibilities and extras On-board Marvel controller (see below) Good set of attributes and has performed solid for me so far. Intel i7 980x, 12 GB Corsair RAM򜩀MHz, two XFX Radeon 5870 XXX in Crossfire, two Important C300 128GB SSD water cooled.Marvel 6Gb/s SATA controller is only beneficial for single drive use. Although there is an choice to allow raid, performance for raid- config is atrocious, i.e. worse than a single drive. This might not be an issue for those who favor to use raid for mirroring only or don't care about overall performance, but frankly I anticipate a lot more from what I'd classify as an 'enthusiast level' board. If you want full 6Gb/s efficiency with raid- assistance, you'll have to buy an add-on controller card. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for the built in Intel ICH10 controller. It would have been nice if ASUS had offered a far better 6Gb/s controller as that one particular shortcoming prevented me from giving full marks. I count on much better from an enthusiast board.

I have the Rampage 111 extreme board and the power provide I am useing is the Antec TPQ 1200W. It is modular so you can add just what you want while it does come with some connections already hard wired including two graphics card connectors and 2 8 pin atx connectors along with a sata and molex conn. Then you are left with 3 eight pin and three 6 pin sockets to plug in what you need and it comes with an ample supply of options like two more graphics card conn. Now if you use up all the 6 pin you can plug a 6 pin into an 8 pin socket which I am at the moment carrying out to run a sata power cable for two SSD drives. Just so you know you do not have to use the two eight pin atx sockets on the board , the second a single is only for extreme overclocking , I am only useing 1 and it functions fine. In case you haven't observed there are also two molex connectors on the motherboard as well , those are for addional pwer for highend power hungry graphics cards. I did have a issue with the initially board when it just stopped working. Due to the fact it was immediately after the 30 days I had to RMA it directly to Asus and they send me a replacement board which is at present operating fine. The Antec TOQ 1200 is at present operating , 2 water pumps , 11 fans 鲸mm) , 2 EVGA GTX 480 cards , a REVO drive , 12gb Corsair Doinator ram , two SSD difficult drives , 1 Western Digital 600gb SATA 111 difficult drive and the Intel i7 980x cpu. Also a bBigfoot network card and two dvd players.

Great as soon as you figure it out...I had the extreme ll, never had a challenge with it, by way of a lot of OC and tests...this MB is a huge step forward. Got i7 990x , 24 G ram ,radeon HD 6970 working best 񡼰 watt ps). demands TLC Some complications listed by others : over heating, not reading all ram, locking up,bent pins, bsod ect ect....Initially thing I did was to get rid of all heatsinks and apply far better thermal compound, employed the supplied heat sink with fan(required some mod),had to improve ram voltage to get all 24 G to show, now it all functions, cool and stable. I'm not saying this will function for everybody, but it did for me. This board needs some power, and asking it to do a lot more, you have to give it additional, 1 24 pin plug, two 8 pins plugs and two 4 pins all for power.

This board is a treat! I can't think how fun it is to have. It looks excellent in an acrylic case! It overclocks without having a fuss. I am utilizing an i7 920c and 1600Mhz Tracers. I was able to push them to 2000MHz. All I can say for pros is that... it functions! It's future proof! It's not just a luxury, it's an investment worth though. There is 1 flaw, but it is only an optional repair. Essentially the bonus heat sink with a fan did not come with screws. The screws holding the default heat sink will not fit in it. Please see other thoughts if you program to use the bonus heat sink. PLEASE BE Cautious!!! If you are going to put that bonus heat sink instead of the default a single, do not use screws that are too extended or you will bend the metal plate that sits on best of the chipset! It occurred to me but I was able to bend it back. Basically the chipset went more than 100 degrees and the BIOS did an auto shut down to save my board.Even though attempting to repair my small glitch there... I noticed that ASUS put some actually awful thermal compound on the chipset. It's like some yellow ear wax. I went ahead and removed it and put my personal Arctic5 on it. My temperatures just before were about 50 degrees, but went down to 30.Otherwise the board performs greater than expectations tell of it. It's genuinely an remarkable piece of technology. If it breaks on me, I'd definately get a different to replace it and not buy a diverse board.

Its an awesome looking board with so numerous little extras it just makes your invest in that substantially much better each time you believe about them. Produced for overclocking, can assistance 24GB of ram (not that its needed) and even has a overclocking on/off button. Just about every gamers dream i would say. I noticed that a lot of these Mobo's come DOA or with some sort of challenge, i did not run into any of these troubles but take into account that it came out in march of 2010 so its got its kinks nonetheless i guess. MAKE Positive YOU HAVE TWO 8 PIN CONNECTORS. The motherboard has a 24 pin slot and two 8 pin slots for power, they must all be plugged in for it to boot. Dont buy the wrong PSU result in u more than looked this. Comes with an great sticker and an extra heat sink with fan for the mobo if it fits next to or under your heat sink for the cpu.

You get what you pay for with this board - which is a superior thing. You are obtaining luxury and efficiency.
