This has been a excellent motherboard so far, at least for the week I've had it. Plenty of alternatives, a massive decent manual but a bit confusing and contradicting in some locations. I installed an Intel i7-990X and 12 gigs of Corsair Dominator RAM on it. The utilities that come with it are OK I guess. Overclockers need to appreciate this board. The SATA III is quite nice to have. No BSOD however, but then I haven't overclocked something on it however, either. The dual BIOS is a good function. Just one USB header. Not a huge dilemma for me, but could be a deal breaker for someone else. The board is an eATX; make particular the case you decide on or currently have will support eATX mounting. There are tons of videos available on Youtube describing this board and how to configureit. I watched several just before deciding to hit the acquire button. I highly suggest you take some time to research these vids to make particular this is the board for you. It may be too considerably board to take into account. The board is rather high-priced, but I don't see this as a con when taking into consideration its capabilities.

Incredibly very good layout of pcie_16, on SLI there is a two slot separation in between video cards, also the pcie_four is incredibly beneficial.oc my i7 975 to 4ghz with vcoreɅ.225 stable. voltage drop compensation function really superior. Dead immediately after 45 days, no boot, no power on fans, no nothing, not a blink. i RMA it. I have to re-paste the north/south bridge cooler. i got 49C temp on NB right after.I got tired of waiting the return and acquire a Evga e770 classfied. i got a E770 classie, what a diference, what a peace of mind.if your in the middle in between a RE3 And EVGA E770 classie;GET the CLASSIEŋ and don't look back!!

read other thoughts read other thoughts this is my second assessment,i was angry with asus for sending me a refurbished board as my rma replacment and gave only one egg rating, but now immediately after working with board and feeling a lot more confidant with it i really feel i really should have mentioned how polite and beneficial the asus telephone techs were, yes i had to disassemble ,ship, spend and wait ,but 1 egg just does not appear fair,so im altering my rating to 3 eggs, and for the record i have bought meny parts from new egg and they have allways treated me like a king

None SATA 6Gb/s Marvell9123 controller does not perform. Qualified drives seem, disappear, randomly. Asus has no fix for this and does not intend to give a fix. The 6Bb/s support is a bald faced lie, and they know it. I have been developing custom PCs because 1989. I've construct systems based on negative board styles from flaky vendors, but ASUS almost usually produced a fantastic item and supported it. I don't know what's occurred at Asus, but this is the last motherboard I will get from them. I don't mind a bug that will be fixed, but I do mind getting lied to and then told to buzz off.

Good layout. Wireless overclocking. Contemporary art heatsinks Marvell SATA 6 does not work. Boot up once and each SATA 6 drives are there. Reboot and they're gone. Then one port is present, then gone. Then port 1, then nothing. ASUS manual does not cover Marvell SATA 6's settings. Some ASUS drivers are more than two years old. I've been developing PCs given that 1988. I've used just about every motherboard brand and ASUS was my preferred. Lately they seem to have abandoned the motherboard marketplace in favor of the far more lucrative Laptop and Multimedia machines. I'm very disappointed with this motherboard and ASUS's lack of adequate documentation. I do not believe ASUS provides a darn about this market place anymore. I will not waste my time with another ASUS board.

So quite a few overclocking selections on this board and it still has stable control. The larger board offers a little much more space to function with. Has four PCI-Express x16 slots and 1 x4, so it has space for two GPUs, superior sound card and tv tuner. Has a lot of sata ports which includes 2 sata iii ports. I like the red and black appear. Blutooth connect is awesome, I can use my Droid x for overclocking Chipset runs hot. 110 c +. The south bridge has a plastic cover more than it that must be a heatsink, silly. This thing takes forever to boot. Windows 7 on my ssd takes half the time to boot and login than the motherboard takes to boot. It goes by way of 3 diverse controller checks and there's no alternative to skip in the bios with a raid array installed. Could have accomplished with out the old PCI slot. It has a built in realtek sound card which is garbage compared to my creative x-fi so I just turned it off in the bios. If I ever do triple SLI I will have to use the realtek due to the fact the board has a PCI slot rather of another PCIX x1, but I knew this when I purchased it. Overpriced! Basically put, this board has practically just about every function you could possibly want in a gaming rig, that you'll be overclocking. Two BIOS profiles, probelt, LED voltage displays (normal, high, crazy), and a massive array of settings for overclocking and cooling. It even has an LN2 setting! Not to mention the PCI slot switches, and LED lights for what is malfunctioning, or not connected. None so far. It appears like some other people today have been getting difficulties with theirs, but it's most likely not the board.

I adore this board. It comes with a ton of little extras for high end builds that makes every thing that a lot less difficult. It looks awesome and can manage something out there suitable now. Extremely impressed with this motherboard and I will get from ASUS again because of it. The very last red ram slot is dead, could have been me though trigger i was kinda rough on that certain spot when assembling the computer, but i can still use the black slots so its fine. Also, wish it had far more pins for USB connectors, the motherboard comes with a PCI slot factor with two usb ports on it and it only has 1 set of pins on the motherboard produced for those usb ports so the 1 i have on the case cover is useless, not genuinely a con although due to the fact that makes it to have 11 usb ports. Liked the stickers and the replaceable motherboard heat sink that came with a fan, thought that was fairly cool.

Major fan of the R3E, it replaced a eVGA Tri SLI LE, and im really happy with alot of the capabilities, despite the fact that id kill for USB three headers, if only they existed. A heads up, the CPU step-up is completely useless... I was curious so I applied it on my 920, and it was pushing about maximum voltage at 3.two Ghz, and I knew I could do three.2 at stock voltage. i7 920 @ four. GhzASUS R3E 6GB G. I wanted the evga classified three but it was sold out across the net. wife stated I had to devote the $ now or it would be gone. This was my second selection. I have owned a lot of asus board 3 of them nonetheless going as we speak. I ought to say all the reviews in here had me second guessing my decision. So I went out and read the reviews on 15 diverse over clocker and pc evaluation web-sites on the net. None of them had doa's, poor mem slots, not recognizing mem or dropping hard drives. I went with my gut and the reality that 99% of them could be user error. New egg has generally treated me proper for years so if it was truly junk. I would just rma it and get gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9 or wait for the evga classified three. I bought, the box was sealed, put it together and it fired proper up. It recognized all my mem and set to the xmp profile in the bios. Put my raid on it and its been operating for a couple weeks now solid. I must have rebooted a hundred times by now. I have had it oc due to the fact its second day of its life. Only one complaint. The 4 pin energy plug on the bottom of the board facing down towards the bottom of the case under the last pci slot. This is 1 of the two 4 pin connections it wants to give your sli additional energy. I necessary a molex connector that the wires came in from the side of the connector due to the fact of the clearance between the board and the bottom of the case. I feel it should have been facing out towards the case door. but I purchased the connector and all is fine. Here is some helpful info for you if you are thinking of purchasing this board and you can keep away from all the troubles people are having in these posts. 1) have a great psu this board has two/ 8 pin, 1ቴ pin, and2ǚ pin connections just to power the board if you don't most times it won't boot and you can burn your board or your cards if you are operating many gpus. don't believe me read the manual. evga is selling a add on to give much more energy to the pci slots on their classified boards simply because they didn't put these two additional energy make certain you use memory that is on the qualified venders list for this board on asus internet site. Don't attempt to plug raided drives into the two red 6. sata slots simply because there is no raid controller for those two slots. If you use raid like me use the other black sata slots that have a raid controller also in the manual. It has a crazy bios so if you don't know what you are doing then I would be worried. I began oc this hours right after I got it together to see what she could do on air. I got my cpu to a 4. without getting to add volts. I benched vantage at four. score= P39682 / CPU 65507 / GPU 38070 I went to a four.five on air but the temps had been in the 70c. but she did it no challenge no lock ups, bsod did it like a champ. I'm running it at 3.8 now as a stock speed all on auto. Id advocate this board to anybody it's a solid board.my pc= ASUS Rampage III ExtremeCore i7-970 three.2GHz Six-Core COOLER MASTER Hyper N cpu coolerCORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 6GB DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)two= raid = VelociRaptor 300GB

Really uncomplicated to overclock. I'm an amateur at overclocking so I’m studying as I go. I only have the Corsair H50 CPU cooler so I want to be extremely careful as to NOT smoke the CPU. Every single time I appear at this board I go WOW. NONE. I have tried just about every thing on this board but the Bluetooth with not one iota of a dilemma.

Soon after 1 week... quite a few; immediately after 2 weeks... NONEThis board causes driver resets, random hangs, reboots, and failures:Example: Clean install, installed all updates, drivers, and and so on. Screen flashes "Display driver stopped working..." throughout gameplay. Technique hangs... no response, no KB, no mouse, nothing... Manual cold boot...When the method begins to boot from the HDD I get a BSOD with a 0x0000005c error; this identical error occurs when I boot from the Windows DVD as properly. Other CDs or DVDs just restart the system. I've tried unique memory, single memory, SLI, single card, No HDD (boot from CD only), and the identical result... I can't even get the thing to boot from anything. I previously wrote the four star review right after a week... but then the difficulties started.... This board is garbage. and I am requesting an RMA from NewEgg ASAP. I've been without a pc for 2 weeks (the initially "working" week" wasn't even productive.)

Lots of capabilities.Upgraded from rampage II to the III.I required the 6gb sata contoller. I gained 100mb per sec from the controller with the c300 ssd drive. Requirements more the just 1 usb header on the motherboard. Now I have 2 usb ports on the front of my corsair 800d that don't function. Not applied the usb 3 but.. Absolutely nothing I have is usb3. nice upgrade from an already killer board.

Can work Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe Immediately after Effects at the similar time seamlessly.enjoy the blue tooth no cons as i can see. only thing i want is a superior wireless card
