ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons:-mediocre sound quality-PCI

Pros:-price-amplification
Comment:
This is a cheap way to give your headphones a bit of a boost as opposed to using intergrated sound. The difference in volume levels over the on-board sound is definitely significant but, in my opinion, it does not add much to sound quality. Nevertheless, for the price, especially if it is on sale, you can't go wrong in combining this item with a pair of average headphones for an inexpensive boost in sound. Unfortunately, I will have to uninstall it once I go SLI with GTX 570 as I will have no accesible PCI slot on P8Z68-V Pro.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons:Not sure if it is my front panel connectors or the card but i get background noise when using the front panel connectors, again not sure if it is my front panel connectors but the auto switch to the front does not work.

Pros:Cheap, Great sounding for its price, Easy to install, Headphone amp
Comment:
I got it during the weekend special for 13.99 after rebate and i'm quite happy. I don't like how I have to go into the sound settings to use my usb sound card as my front panel won't work as said in the cons. Overall a great card for the price and highly recommended if you have older on board sound.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons:Not really a con, but bear in mind that it's not PCI-E

Pros:Great value for the moneySurprisingly lots of power for bigger cansSimple yet effective software
Comment:
I got this to power my Senn PC350 and they work fabulously. Lots of power for the money, making this a worthy upgrade compared to onboard sound, especially if you have the right headphones. The simple setup software works very well, and is easy to understand. I even tried out Toslink to a decent amp and there are no problems with the digital signal. I would say the only issue is that in the long run if I decide to go with SLI on my Sabertooth P67, then I will lose the card, so know what you're getting into before you buy (at the time, there was no greater values coming from the PCI-E offerings). Great bang for the buck.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons:None

Pros:Excellent sound card for a gaming computer
Comment:
I run this card in Stereo paired with Steel Series 5H V/2 headphones.I'm sure the surround sound works fine, but after years of working around heavy machinery, chain saws, under diesel trucks, etc. So I've learnt after playing with "surround sound" headphones I can't hear a difference. So this works well for me paired with the 5h's, no complains, can't hear enemies walking long before they get to me in Bad Company 2, haven't been snuck up on since.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons:Drivers are terrible.Mic picks up sound from OS/Music.

Pros:Great sound for headphone setup.Amazing price!Lots of features!
Comment:
I bought Xonar DG because I play a lot of games with a headset and figured that I may as well try out a sound card and see the difference. Dolby Headphones made most FPSes a lot for immersible, but the mic was picking up almost anything and everything my computer was playing. VOIP was nearly impossible unless I was running nothing else that produced sound.I'm using a USB adapter for my Microphone and everything is fine now, but the fact that I had to resort to this makes the Xonar DG lose points, as well as my recommendation. :/

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: Crashed my computer when installed (see below). Works fine as long as you don't unplug and replug the speakers while the PC is on.Also, sound wouldn't work period if I installed the software and set my front panel audio to AC '97. Setting it to HD audio worked fine.

Pros: Works great with Windows 7 x64.
Comment:
I used this in an older Core2Duo motherboard where the onboard sound drivers don't work in Windows 7 x64. This sound card installed fine from the disk, although it was a bit quirky and crashed the computer when I disconnected and reconnected the speakers while the computer was on.Other than this bizarre quirk, the sound card works great - sound quality is fantastic.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: Forcing Surround

Pros: Works, Easy to install
Comment:
Easy to install hardware and software. The config comes with lots of options. But I miss being able to force 5.1 sound even if the source isn't 5.1. This is something I could do with the Creative Audigy Live that I had before. I got this card thinking it might solve my low microphone input volume issue. But sadly it didn't.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: -audio quality still not stelar-software is ugly :P

Pros: -better than onboard sound-dolby headphone-cheap
Comment:
For the price, this is an amazing little sound card. The sound quality is noticeably better than realtek's onboard audio solutions, and it includes support for dolby headphone. The software is fairly comprehensive, with sound and voice effects, bass re-assignment, and support for surround sound gaming through basic EAX. You really cannot go wrong with this card for the price. If you have the extra cash, though, consider the Xonar DX.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: none that I can find really at the moment. Maybe the user interface needs a little bit getting used to.

Pros: Compared to onboard sound, it sounds a quite a bit better. The front panel ports has much less interference sound to it. The price is very good
Comment:
Brought this card to replace my onboard card since the plugins on my onboard card was dead. Couldn't be happier with the price. With this card my headset and most importantly my mic works now well too. I'd say for a basic replacement card, this card is a good buy for especially for the price it is.

Pros: Dolby Headphone

This is a good card for 25$. In my opinion the dolby headphone is worth the 25$. It turns ordinary 2.0 headphones into virtual 7.1. It is awesome.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: no emi shroud, no external power plug, slightly worse reproduction than most onboard sound cards, bad drivers

Pros: cheap, sounds nice, headphone amp
Comment:
This card is a pretty darn good value despite all its shortcomings. The sound has a lot of bias to it, making everything "sound better." It only impacts reproduction a little bit though. There's nothing on this card to reduce noise from EMI or dirty power, which causes a lot of static/popping issues with the card. The other static/popping issues are due to drivers, you may want to try the unified drivers if none of the solutions on the Asus site work.Something that sounds nice and gives decent positional audio with a headphone amp is pretty darn good for $24-$10 MIR.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: -takes up an extra slot in motherboard so can't do dual GPU. Not the sound card's fault though

Pros: -Great card for low price
Comment:
I use headphones and up until now I was plugging them into my 2.0 speakers.. For $25 dollars I wanted to see what a soundcard would give me. Pretty good results. Hard to quantify, so maybe its all in my head, but it seems like I can hear those 'hard-to hear' noises in BF:BC2 and other games. No issues with driver, I just didn't install onboard one's that came with mobo cd.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: For what the card is built to do there are no weaknesses.

Pros: Most inexpensive card with a built in Headphone AMP, Front Panel Headphone AMP
Comment:
For the average gamer and even most HC gamers this is the perfect card. Price to performance is off the charts! Paired this up with my Sennheiser PC350 headset and I'm hearing sounds that I've never heard before in my games, sounds are crisp and clean and never choppy. I definitely recommend this card to anyone who is a headset gamer!

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: If the signal is not encoded in 5.1 it will be output as stereo.

Pros: The features I wanted include 24 bit audio with 96kHz sampling capability along with a SNR above 105dB. I also wanted a dedicated optical audio output, a feature many other cards leave out. The available graphic equalizer is also nice for changing the audio effects and customizing sound for your specific preference. The price point for this card also makes it a good value.
Comment:
Good enough for the price. I don't care for the 10 dollar AMEX Card rebate.

ASUS XONAR_DG Xonar DG Sound Card
Cons: No coax out. Usual pain in the arse to send for the rebate.

Pros: It works and the price is right
Comment:
I just needed a cheap sound card with a digital out good to 96/24 to interface with my DAC and this card fits the bill. I prefer coax out but couldn't get one unless I spent more. Fortunately my new DAC accepts toslink, but I've read (though haven't experimented to confirm) that coax performs better for audio applications, perhaps because of the additional circuitry needed to convert optical to an electrical bit stream. Usual pain to send for the $10 rebate. It would be so nice to just get the $10 back at the store, but they have to make it difficult because the manufacturers know that only a small percentage will send for the rebate simply because it is so difficult to do so.
