There have been alot of negative evaluations which made me nervous on getting this but following installing and following the instruction manual on precisely how to install the drivers and computer software it has worked seamlessly everytime that I use it. Have not tried to record something via the HDMI but has worked everytime with the component cables. Would like to be capable to use any software package I want to record with but making use of their computer software will perform just tends to make alittle more work

Low-cost. Captures both analog (supposedly) and digital. This capture card does not capture the audio from my analog device (VCR). I have tried the capture computer software that came with the card. It recognized an audio stream but would not capture it. I then tried 3 other capture applications ࿠-bit Virtual Dub, Virtual VCR and Pinnacle Studio). None recognized an audio stream. I plan to do much more study and obtain a diverse (probably additional high priced) capture card. I am utilizing WIndows 7 and went with this card simply because it is listed as Winows 7 64-bit compliant.

I purchased this card especially to capture gameplay from an Xbox 360. First off, if you're looking to capture reside gameplay straight on your pc, you are going to will need a truly high powered personal computer in order to not expertise lag. When I initially purchased this card, I was operating an Intel Q9450 (Quad core two.66 GHz, 12MB Cache), 8 GB of DDR2 RAM, and an NVidia GeForce GT220 (LOL!). I connected my 360 straight to my personal computer, and the screen lag made it unplayable on both 1080i and 720p. Right after some analysis I invested a small much more income on a POWERED hdmi splitter. The difference is astronomical. The high quality of each the 1080 and the 720 is awesome. Even even though it is only 1080i, I was capable to upload 1080 videos to YouTube straight devoid of getting to convert. This card does what it's suppose to do and it does it wonderfully Card fits a tiny loose in any PCIe slot so don't get concerned. If you are obtaining this card and you want it to execute for you, obtain a powered HDMI splitter. If you just get a common splitter you will have a loss of top quality. and if you are hunting to run it directly off your laptop or computer, be sure that your technique is really high end.The computer software, at least for me, has been more than sufficient. It has a fair quantity of possibilities, and it tends to make capturing effortless. The hdmi to analog wire that is included with this capture card is extremely beneficial if you are attempting to capture old vhs tapes or older camcorder tapes. Not necessarily what I am going to use it for, but I adore the reality that they consist of this cable with the package because it adds flexibility.

Cons:Bundled software is not so greatNo 1080p

Pros:Excellent quality capture via HDMI and component (as long as you use your own capture software)
Comment:
I use this card to record and stream gameplay from consoles (Xbox 360 via HDMI, and Playstation 2 via component, in each case using a video splitter). The bundled software isn't very good for recording, so I don't even touch it. Ordinary capture software such as VirtualDub works just fine, though. It's too bad it doesn't support 1080p (just 1080iz60 and 720pz60 max), but that's not a big deal for me. HDMI quality is perfect, of course, being a digital signal. I haven't tried any HD video through component, but for a standard NTSC resolution the quality is perfect.I picked this up when it was on sale here for $80, but even at $100 this card is still excellent value.

The functionality that I get from this product is worth the 贉; it does a lot more than most 跌 card do. I have converted all my analogues to digital and have captured 1080i HDMI video flawlessly. Surprisingly, in spite of all the complaints, the software program that was included operates really properly. I also have a high end Pc so that might contribute. The software is difficult to navigate at instances but it functions properly on my Windows 7 64-bit system. Recommend this product for any individual who wishes to hold their old analogues or capture fantastic HD shows!

-Uncomplicated to setup and install. Took me much less than ten minutes!-Does every thing as advertised.-Displays my DirecTV feeds with HD good quality by way of my Computer which enables me to keep tuned to my NBA games whilst surfing the net on my Sony LCD HD television. Maximum output is only 1080i. I can't wait for a 1080p to turn into available.Other than that, I can't assume of anything else that's negative about this card...It's that great. I originally purchased this card with my major intentions of recording my Black Ops (on PS3) game play by means of component video. Despite the fact that, I haven't started recording, I am fairly happy with the good quality and the functionality this card has made so far with my Satellite feed.

HDMI and Component inputs. Each have great image top quality for my desires. The HDMI input seems lossless picture-excellent-smart for actual-time viewing.Component input is also available in other capture software program apart from Avermedia's MediaCenter. HDMI input cannot be displayed/captured outside of Avermedia's MediaCenter software program. This is not a key con for my needs, but individuals who hope to capture the video input from the HDMI in a 3rd party software program will most likely be disappointed. I use this card to add an HDMI/Component inputs to a 30" HP ZR30W monitor which has no HDMI/Single-Link-DVI input and no built-in scaler. This way my Pc scales the 720p񳀨i input to the screen's native 2560x1600 resolution.I connect the screen this way to a HDTV DVR, so I can watch Television occasionally on my monitor. I got the open-box version for a bit less expensive, came with every little thing in a retail box. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

None Device does not fit correctly into any of the PCI Express slots on my machine. I had 3 obtainable and when the card is mounted the bracket would be impossible to screw in. when you to the card comes out of the slot.Testing the card when mounted properly outcomes in a DOA anyway. My Pc knows the card is in there but when I install the software no connections are recognized in the card. HDMI, Component, S video or Composite all turn up a blank screen. Most up-to-date drivers for my 5870 and for the card and still nothing. I'm going external, even if that suggests I'm going to have to spend an added 贄 or so. I hope I get my RMA fee back. If you can record HDCP content on a DVR, why cant capture cards do the same? 1080I HD video recording, clear image, PCIe, the video good quality it's just as good as if my PS3 was connected directly to my Tv, smooth frame rate recording, in a position to record HD via component (see Cons)In spite of reading all the unfavorable testimonials I nonetheless decided to obtain the card and prepare myself for the challange! Unable to record game play by way of HDMI, no 1080p, demans a lot of performance for the duration of HD recordings. Component is just as great so you can do it this way. Most games will carry an HDCP signal through HDMI and it won't let you record. HDMI input is fantastic for playback or recording off an HD camcorder. Website forum/FAQ is a dead end so I wouldn't even bother with it or calling by telephone, go straight to on the internet chat assistance. I noticed a commom denominator on those with issues, Windows X 64-bit versions. I've under no circumstances liked 64 bit due to the lack of compatibility with a lot of softwares and peripherals, they're just nightmares. And yes, a manufacturer can release drivers for a item but there's seriously no guarantee it will work on "your" method.Initially I installed this on a process with a Core two Duo E4500, 8GB Ram, 1GB GeForce 9500GT VGA, and Windows 7 32-bit sitting on an OCZ SSD. Installation was smooth. The playback through HDMI was smooth but, when I clicked record it was jittery, skipping frames so negative I had to stop playing. I went to chat assistance which only took 30 seconds to reach an agent. Soon after trying various drivers, they gave me a link to a secured ftp web site that contained unreleased BETA drivers but no luck. I then put the card into a Quad Core build and WALLA! Silky smooth 1080i video recording! So make sure you got muscle below the hood to run this sucker.

Does what it describes well adequate, great price tag. Tech Assistance was quite swift and valuable with my concern (issue resolved inside 30 hours), even though the links from the manufacturer replies supplied here on newegg sends you the wrong Tech Assistance (it did for me, at least). The included system is poorly designed. Some settings appear very tough to discover, and a lot of times you won't understand there are in fact Much more settings than what you see (mouse wheel doesn't generally scroll on a mouse page, so you have to use somewhat-hidden arrows to navigate up and down a page).Driver installation was a bit of a headache. I was expecting this plug and play device to be ready to use without the want of a restart. Absolutely nothing worked with the item until I did. The problem I had with this card was incredibly negative tearing on the bottom part of the screen. Immediately after contacting tech support, they recommended I move the card to a various PCI-E slot. I moved the card from my PCI-E x1 slot to a PCI-E x16 slot and it began operating magnificently. I DO have choppy audio, but I have a feeling it has to do with some settings on my personal computer. Moreover, if any individual runs into a issue with not being able to use the included program to record (HDCP compatibility issue), you can usually use a various plan (such as Fraps) to record what you want.Computer specs:Intel C2D E6750 @ 2.66ghz3GB RamGeForce GTX 260Video runs smoothly @ 720p. Audio is slightly choppy. Unknown if this is an concern with process resources or an problem with program settings.

Play my 360 at 1080i and it works flawlessly, no lag on my AMD quad core. Recorded video at 1080i and played my PS2 with Svideo. Good quality is also fairly great for what it is. You have to run the AVer MediaCenter in order to view stream from the card. I thought I could use VLC, but it actually turns out weird. I under no circumstances genuinely looked into configuring it for VLC or any other media player even though, so I may possibly be incorrect. It's not like the AVer MediaCenter is a bad factor either, I really I think the interface is pretty great. Also be confident to grab the most recent updates. Kinda sad it doesn't do 1080p, but oh properly. Wasn't too sure if I get Dolby Pro Logic from the device utilizing red and white cable, I'm pretty certain I do even though.

Capture HD video! I got mine with the intention of capturing my Xbox 360 in HD and it performs the job decently sufficient. I'm content with it. Setup was straightforward. Only 720p. Only stereo sound. HDCP problems that other folks have mentioned. In the beginning, I was using FRAPS to capture the video stream but located that the audio had difficulties if I did that, so I restarted my Computer and utilized the plan it came with (well, the updated version from the internet site) and it operates wonderfully. It works well at what it's meant to do. If you're like me and want an inexpensive way to capture HD video from a game console, this is the way to do it.

Outstanding Card, I dl'd the newer driver and software package from the AVerMedia web site which operates flawlessly. I employed both the manage center and fraps to record and the Control center won.Crisp playable video and much less disk space necessary for recordings at the very same resolutions, Fraps captures have to be rendered (Sony Vegas) prior to there playable with out crashing the system. I tried 1920x1080 and 1280x720 res. for both capture sofwares 350mb and 292mb with the Manage center capture, very same resolutions with fraps was more than five gb. each and were split into segments. none at all I read all the evaluations for this card and was nicely surprised receiving the outcomes I've gotten. I'm operating Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit 4gb ram AMD Phenom II X4 965, ATI HD 4890.I expected the worst getting it to even run beneath 64bit Win 7but it works flawlessly. Worth ever penny and it's a great price. five eggs Newegg generally comes through :)

High quality, HDMI, Smaller Restriction locks, Price tag, Shape I bought this hoping to record my xbox 360 and ps3 through HDMI... But ps3 and Xbox 360 do not let you to record in Hdmi unless you purchase and Hdmi splitter which go for about 75 dolars.. but when you do it through component and by means of high deph cables, the high quality is amazing. I do recomend it if you are only going to devote like 100 dollars.. but if you are going to invest more get the black magic Recording card... Manufacturer Response:Dear Customer,If you are working with a gaming console with HDCP encryption for instance the PS3 that you mentioned with HDMI cable you will only be able to view the video only. It will block recording due to HDCP encryption. You can nonetheless use component cables as an alternative of HDMI as it can record signal up to 1080i. Recording in 720p is truly great top quality through component. I'm hearing a hum in the audio. I dont know if it's coming from my Comcast DVR or the 8 in 1 cable or the card itself. I even went out and purchased further shielded RCA cables to no avail. I would give it 5 stars if not for the humming which becomes portion of my recording. I also did initally have intermittent difficulties creating a black screen but the updated drivers fixed that. I come across it exciting that the 720p MPEG2 setting creates a larger file than the 1280 or 1920 setting. When i playback clips made with the 720 stretching it to 1980 pixels it looks just as very good.
