This is a good HD capture card. I use FRAPS to capture the stream and the excellent is truly good. Simple to use computer software No outputs, you will want to buy splitters if you want to play on your Television though recording PS3 can't be captured via HDMI with any capture card, Since it makes use of HDCP encryption. This will record PS3 via the component adapter just fine even though

- Cost for the HDMI input is simply the biggest pro for this item.- Capacity to play your PS3/Xbox games on your computer directly and record them in HD quickly.- In a position to use your Pc speakers for HDMI audio so if you have five.1 surround on your Pc compared to stereo sound on a Tv then you'll be amazed at the difference.- Does not crash randomly with newest drivers as older reviewers have reported.- Completely Windows 7 64-bit compatible. - Included software is simple. Basically no configuration to strengthen the excellent of the output. Recording configuration is limited as well.- No 1080p assistance, and 1080i was really sluggish even on a incredibly high end system. You will require to use 720p output. Make certain your PS3 is NOT set on 1080p just before you plug it into the capture card or you will get a black screen!!- Cannot record PS3 footage with the integrated software program due to HDCP, you will will need third party programs such as FRAPS, as other reviewers have mentioned. But you can still view and play the PS3 via the included software fine.- You will will need a fairly contemporary program to record in 720p without having any lag. I have a Core i7 920 @ 4. GHz, GTX 295, 6 GB RAM and a 1 TB 7200 RPM hard drive. No lag at all when recording via FRAPS. If you get lag, it's your program, not the card. For months I was looking for an cost-effective way to record and stream my PS3 game play to the world wide web and friends. It was challenging to find capture cards that provided HDMI input had been reasonably priced. This card seemed too great to be true - HDMI input capture card that was HALF the price tag of other nicely known HDMI capture cards. Soon after reading some of the reviews I decided to buy it and see for myself.I promptly downloaded the most current drivers from the AVermedia website in hopes to steer clear of any crashing troubles. I'm happy to say the system has not crashed as soon as through outputting PS3 game play in 720p resolution.I enjoy to stream issues live to close friends as well and my initial was FFXIII. Every person was blown away at the good quality of the stream and how amazing every thing looked and sounded. We all had a blast and I made a lot of them jealous getting in a position to stream my PS3 reside in such top quality! This card is worth Just about every penny if you want to play/record your PS3뤀 on Pc in HD

Easy to install, setup was straightforward. Works like it says it does. I had a household video on Hi8 cassette that i wanted to convert to DVD. I purchased one more device but it was dropping thousands of frames! I returned it and purchased this. ZERO dropped frames, even at the highest recording top quality! Included computer software is horrible and will not record my household videos simply because it mistakenly believes they are copyright protected. Luckily, I nevertheless have Pinnacle Studio 12 installed from when I had a Dazzle and that plan functions Good with the AVerMedia card. Have not figured out how to get audio however, but I'm sure it's something I'm performing incorrect. Thanks NewEgg! Really satisfied.

Will operate successfully maybe about 80% of the timeComponent inputHDMI input Hope you like restarting. AverMedia has some of the worst computer software and drivers. This 'device' is fundamentally nevertheless in prototype phase, no reputable corporation would release it like this. It crashes and freezes randomly just from fully normal use and when it crashes you have to restart your Computer to get it to work once again. Restarting is a Large inconvenience AverMedia, don't you get it? And AverMedia appears to have cash to devote on people who browse newegg critiques and respond to them when this item is in a state like this. Devote More Income IN YOUR HARDWARE/SOFTWARE DEPARTMENTS, Much less ON YOUR Advertising since these drivers are SO unstable its practically a joke, and it's your reputation. I don't mean to be overly harsh, it's surely a good product when it functions, I'm just disappointed it's SOO unstable, doesnt support 1080i 񡺸p only), and a couple other concerns that could have been fixed if they kept the development cycle open longer, it appears this item was just rushed to the shelves. None. Does not work. The computer software crashes when choosing HDMI, and does not perform for Component. It would not enable me to put in HD recording profiles, only DVD 鼐x480). For composite captures, which is the only mode that functions, I can use a a great deal cheaper card, much less than twenty dollars. I bought this card for HD captures, I read the bad critiques, but believed that the new drivers fixed the problems. They don't fix something. Effortless install I purchased this to record PS3 gameplay making use of HDMI cable input. Soon after installing I discovered that making use of the HDMI cable only outcomes in a black screen. Researching the dilemma on-line, I found other individuals had the very same problem and I could not locate a fix. In the end I decided it would be simpler to obtain one thing else as opposed to wasting time and power on something that is so hard to use, assuming that it could even be accomplished. Also the user guide that came with this item is very vague. Any person have a suggestion about what an alternative to this thing is? Functions flawlessly. I got this to record PS3 and Tv shows, so far ive only testing the ps3 gameplay, and it look amazing. Dont believe the stuff about it not working with PS3, it works good. And as for the "not able to record HDMI" thing, here is how to do it.Plug it into the HDMI port on the Aver Capture card, video need to pull up. If you hit record it will say unable to record protected content material and what not. So just go download a little program called FRAPS. Make your PS3 gameplay full screen and use the hotkey to start recording. This functions good and records in full 720 or 1080i.I have yet to get the component to work with the PS3, this is largely for live streaming, but i dont want this as significantly. So if your looking for a capture card to function with HDMI content material, this can do it. The software program, its buggy, slow and causes your pc to crash even though in the initially stages of getting it to perform. If the Video feed isnt contant and smooth, this plan will lock up. But once its up and operating, it runs just fine. Make positive your computer system is effective sufficient. If your going to record and play even though on your computer monitor, your going want some thing with some power, processor and graphics wise. Also there is a tiny bit of lag when going via the computer. To fix this problem, just buy a splitter to run off your device, and run one to your comp, and one to your Television. This will give you the Tv to view/play on whilst nonetheless recording on your comp. See Beneath I have had this item for about five months now, and I wanted to share mt latest thoughts on it. Avermedia did update the application on 6ǚቦ, to cease black screens when launching a video. On the other hand, the interface of the application is still quite cumbersome. It takes 8-14 methods to program a timer recording - Accurate. The video is nonetheless slightly jerky at times, but somewhat tolerable if you tell yourself to accept it. Also, the interface of the application is junk. It is non-intuitive, and extremely annoying to use. Some may tolerate it, but it genuinely needs to be streamlined to make it a worthy recommendation.Overall, I am unsatisfied with the obtain. It has so significantly promise, but Avermedia never genuinely delivers the goods when it somes to the application software. Considering that it does not have a built in tuner, you are forced to use Avermedia's own application, since Windows Media Center will not recognize it. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,Considering that you at the moment have troubles with the video I suggest try to update the graphic card drivers on your computer system. Thank you for your feedback concerning AVer MediaCenter software. We are operating on enhancing the attributes and functions of the software program. Rare capture card for HD at inexpensive cost. Numerous input choices, each HDMI and component to circumvent HDCP problems. two channel analog only with component input. Included software is limited. Won't record if any smell of HDCP present whether merited or not. I got this before NewEgg even carried it. Purpose was to transfer HD recordings from Dish 722 DVR to avoid losing if DVR crashed or if changed from Dish. For this purpose it functions perfectly. I saw a comment from somebody that had complications with it stopping when operating HDMI from their 722, but through an Onkyo receiver. My bet is the Onkyo is sending HDCP signals to prevent recording. I use an HDMI powered splitter and it has no dilemma with the 722 directly. It will not record anything for HDMI from my Samsung BD player no matter whether protected content material or not. It will record from the BD player by means of component but only with analog. Only problem I had was a quirk with ATI card that has HDMI output and I didn't have the sound driver installed. Tech Support replied suitable away with the resolution (which seriously doesn't make sense but it worked).

HDMI input, dongle supports just about every little thing, PCI-E x1 interface The AverMedia Center computer software it comes with can't touch Windows Media Center (which I utilised for a long time with my cable Television and coax tuner card), died after 4 months of use, product registration process is close to impossible I lately switched my Cable Tv to Dish Network and considering that the dish receiver box had an HDMI output, I now get HD channels, and this is the only card offered with an HDMI in, I bought it. I was definitely disappointed when I identified out it wasn't compatible with Windows Media Center. The software it comes with functions just fine for watching Tv, playing console games, and recording, but it doesn't do a lot a lot more than that. Immediately after 4 months of use, when I open AverMedia Center to watch Tv (hooked up via component cable) all I see is green flickering and picture glitching. I went to the manufacturer internet site to RMA for a replacement card, and they had been asking for 1200 diverse serial/product numbers. I don't have the box any a lot more, and there are no SN stickers on the card, so I guess I'm out of luck. Manufacturer Response:Dear Consumer, Considering that you are receiving a green screen video issue when using AVerTV HD DVR it is most most likely due to the graphics card. I recommend to check the driver version for your graphics card and update if the existing version is outdated. We also posted updated drivers and computer software on our internet site that you can download and install. http://www.avermedia-usa.com/AVerTV/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id&tab=APDriverThe serial number is printed on the box or on the white label of the card. Does exactly what is advertised, I can record XBox 360, XBox games and anything else I can connect to the cable with ease, quality is very great for the cost, audio is not noticably different from what plays via speakers and setup was uncomplicated as well, no updated software needed, worked on Vista x86 straight out of box with software provided.Overall a very superior product with almost no lag when recording, playing MW2 and other games was nonetheless really effortless whilst recording! Component (YGBR) cables plug into dongle, on the other hand they only pickup video in the Avermedia software program when dongle is plugged into the left HDMI port. Not genuinely even a difficulty Would Advise to any person wanting to record console games, quite superior item for the low cost.

The only concern I have observed is when I move the player from 1 screen to an additional and the two screens are connected to two diverse video cards (ATI 4850). Not a huge deal for me.

Astounding picture quality, better than any capture card I've used ahead of.Accepts fundamentally all video input kinds effortlessly.Far less costly than any other HD card, and near the price of some SD cards. When using 720p over Component, the preview has a flicker, but this doesn't show up in the capture and your eyes adjust.Included software is expectedly underwhelming, but 3rd party programs can't appear to capture sound from the card and will freeze when attempting to. Not a massive deal since just about every laptop or computer has a line in anyway. It's best to use something like VirtualDub to capture, so you can choose your codec and get a lot more customizable quality settings.I was hesitant to purchase this after reading the critiques here, but following having this card a couple of months, I've in no way had any trouble with the hardware and I'm still amazed at the top quality of this card fairly substantially each and every time I capture.

Bought this to use on my HDCP certified monitors with my HDMI consoles (Xbox 360/PS3). I own 3 monitors in NVSurround configuration ྸ" in portrait mode), and thought it would be amazing to play my games on my three monitors. This was one of the solutions I discovered, as many users have reported that this capture card can be employed to VIEW (not capture) HDCP streams, which was my only objective. For the 360, it worked fantastic, as it does not use HDCP. Also, excellent effort on their component to give support, even if it did not end up solving my challenge (stated below) My PS3 however, did not perform through HDMI in NVSurround. Even though all my monitors are identical and support HDCP, for some cause, HDCP viewing fails in NVSurround. I can view it fine if making use of 1 monitor. To workaround, I had to shell out ฤ component cables to use with my PS3. Not content about that, but it works well sufficient now. The framerate of 1080i is way too slow for action games - be confident to use 720p! (wish it supported 1080p!)Pc:i7 9506gb ram460GTX in SLIetc...

http://www.avermedia.com/avertv/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id&tab=APDriver** decide on the 'Global' US web pageAverMedia has a new card, 'C727' 'DarkCrystal HD Capture SDK'. I saw that it had a diff. version of software.Download the new 'aver media center' software program for the 'C727' v1.7.8 (whereas for C027,this product, v1.7.five is newest). v1.7.8 makes it possible for up to 1920x1080i in mpeg-2, H.264/mp4, and even DivX encoding by way of component or HDMI! (DivX by no means was provided ahead of-it may be there due to the fact I have those codecs=don't know, YMMV).Use the drivers you already have! The only interface change is color, nonetheless poor but at least full HD, finally!!!So, this version makes the item buy Significantly more helpful and well worth the purchase !!!!PS: ALL this is utilizing Win7 64bit, and only 720x1280 HDMI & component capturing was tested, other OS versions/resolutions = ?? Takes a robust CPU to work nicely!! AverMedia has other items that do h/w encoding, but at 跌 msrp. This board will function with some other s/w products but they have their set of limitations too, this new version of software makes the use of other software program significantly less crucial! Have employed product to capture and archive many hours of HDTV and constantly appears to function fine!

Works great!!!!!! Stupid individuals give it a poor review due to the fact their laptop or computer is not superior enough to record in HD. Not only do you want a very good pc with like 4gb of ram, a rapidly processor, and a superior video card, but you Need to have A Quickly Difficult DRIVE. You cant write data quicker than your hdd will deal with, HD recording needs ALOT of writing at a fast rate. When your HDD is too slow it will shop the information in your RAM until it can be written, then if the ram gets full you begin dropping frames, because there is nowhere for that data to go.

Low cost! Any other comparable PCI-E capture card expenses at least twice the price. Number of inputs! There is one actual HDMI port, and another "HDMI" port that is for use with the included dongle. Switch inputs from AVer MediaCenter in just a few clicks and it switches instantly.View smooth video with no lag! I have my Xbox 360 hooked up through component at 720p and it feels just like it is hooked up to a Tv, even when recording. I applied to have it hooked directly to my monitor through VGA, and there is /some/ delay when viewing via the card, but I would estimate that it's about 50-100ms, which is incredibly tolerable and most folks won't even notice. Some HDTVs have a lot larger delays than this. Restricted to only the AVer MediaCenter program. This isn't a large deal due to the fact their app works fine, it just has a funky interface. Nonetheless, it loads quite fast and can record in various different codecs and provides superior output file options. Can't record HDCP protected content with AVer MediaCenter program. All of the content sent from my Dish Network box isn't able to be recorded. Nevertheless, 1 way around this is to use FRAPS. It will let you record the content at the resolution you are viewing it at. When my Xbox 360 is set to 1080i, there is visible blurring when issues are moving. It's connected through component as my 360 doesn't have an HDMI port. It really doesn't seem correct. Effortless to fix - just set to 720p due to the fact every thing on the 360 is upscaled anyway. Identical resolution and excellent with no motion blurring dilemma. 1080i via HDMI from my DVR box doesn't have this dilemma, so I'm not confident where the difficulty lies. Not too fussed to dig in any further. No eggs taken off for the cons since they aren't major offers. This is a fantastic card and I've had no troubles with it! I see no reason to get one of the more pricey options due to the fact this does every little thing I want!I'm running this with a Core i5-760 two.8GHz. This card doesn't have onboard processing so you will want to have a decent processor. It only takes 10-12% of my cpu when viewing a stream, which leaves a lot for anything else I'm performing on the pc at the time.

it works.... type of. Where to commence?? The software that comes with it sucks. When i attempt to record my house movies the software program always stops recording and says copyright protection detected. There is no copy protection anyplace on the tapes since they are home produced and recoded on to blank tapes. Other software program I have applied records fine except for the fact that I required to plug the audio into the mic in port on my personal computer rather of plugging the audio in to the capture card. As for the capture card it works great but only when it desires to. Often I get great recordings but most of the time I get something that resembles quit motion animation. What I mean is that when I play back the video or attempt to watch live Television, the picture and sound skip making it appear like I'm watching a security tape (something much less then 30 fps). I know this has nothing to do with me having a slow system simply because I'm running AMD Athlon II X4 two.6GHz, 8GB of DDR3 at 1333, on board ATI Radeon HD 4200 and Windows 7 Pro 64bit If your looking to turn your personal computer into a superior dvr don't get this. Its not compatible with any media center software that I found and you never know if your recording is going to come out excellent or not. Sometimes I even got audio but no picture.
