Large!A lot of SpaceLooks so awesomeA lot of fans for air coolingWonderful cable management Heavy with anything in it. Yeah thats about it, truly not even a issue. Just thought I would mention this if anybody likes to take their Computer to their pals property or some thing. Also the 2.five bay up leading is sorta useless. I would not leave a SSD in there sticking out like that.Be careful which PSU you choose, cables are somewhat difficult to reach where they will need to go. My PSU only had a issue with the 8-pin for the CPU, couldn't run it by way of the back. Had to just put it over the video card. No Biggie I saw this case even though just browsing and I decided that if/when I build my very first personal computer I would use this case. It has to be this case. I am pleased I got this one!!!!Construct:Case - Antec Dark Fleet DF-85Mobo - ASRock 870 EXTREME3CPU - AMD Phenom II x6 1100TVideo Card - MSI N460GTX HawkRAM - Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4GB ƒ x 2GB)HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 500GBPSU - OCZ OCZ750FTY 750W Fatal1ty

Lots of room, wonderful airflow, attractive style, steel construction and painted interior. Liked that it went with red LED's instead of the cliche blue. Looks way additional wonderful. Cable management behind the back panel can be pretty tight, in particular with wrapped cables. With all of my cables running. No dust filter on the optional side fan, and it causes it to get dusty inside the case Rapid. I like to clean it at least each and every month or two. This case is Massive! The case fans are particularly quiet. A lot of area to move about and Cable management in this case is Amazing! I ordered a clear red led Antec case fan for the side window installation was straightforward nevertheless a lot of space with a 9800 GTX+. Almost everything is staying super cool no heating troubles at all so far. NO sharp edges inside the case. The SD hub ontop of the case works excellent and has a mounting spot for an internal SDD on the case floor. I actually can't say enough about this case and for any individual wanodering when you get the case the inside lock demands to be in the up position and you push push in on the left side of the front dorrs to open. I doesn't have any indicator but that is how you open them. This case has Metal thumb screws to hold on the side panels. The Swift swap feture is wonderful and functions flawlessly. You can adjust it to place the HDD in any spot. The USB three. cord could be a bit longer due to the fact it needs to be routed to the back of the case. only con is length, since routing to the I/O plate is only way since 3. does not have a normal internal pin setup but. This case truly is great. It is larger than the 1200 and has a plexi window instead of mesh. As for a prior evaluation stating that the USB three. has to be routed out the back of the case and plugged into to the I/O plate. This is only alternative USB 3. does NOT have a unified or typical Internal Plug in however. Could come with a bit far more literature but that is the nature of instances. Overall it was nicely worth the income, I have only seen one particular other case i in fact liked. So to uncover this a single is wonderful and fits with me perfectly. With Antec you can't go wrong.

-Looks beast-Stays Cool-Red lights aren't too bright/too dim-fans don't get too loud-Wiring made easy but not simple (fan power)-a lot of space to expand-All the two.five" hotswap caddy's inside/outside are excellent if you ever need to have them for your dozens of two.five" and 3.5" SATA drives you have lying around! (not I) -Buttload of useless attributes-Low cost plastic for "clips" more than 5" bays-Annoying clips more than five" bays-Gonna break off these low-cost plastic clips more than the 5" bays any day now-Gonna rip the fans off on accident 1 of these days-Useless and really tiny RPM knobs you can't truly reach on the fans upfront-leading and rear fans are controlled by uncomplicated two-speed switches on the FRACKIN BACK OF THE CASE FOR NO REASON-Top fans have NO red LEDs for NO reason-useless to have filters on the front when those are the only ones! (NO leading filters and NO filter for the side panel!!!)-YOU CAN'T EVEN USE THE Top 5" BAY THE FRACKIN Top FAN BLOCKS IT! ANTEC Needs TO FIRE SOMEBODYŋ! Great case if you have 9 SATA/IDE three.five" drives you need to have to remain cool with these beast fans!Greater case if you continuously hotswap your DOZENS of 2.five" and three.5" SATA drives on a every day basis!Higher-er case if you only will need 2 of the three 5.25" bays!My case came with a negative USB front-side header (one of the four). I could use the USB three. and just run it to the back into one of my normal 2. ports, leaving me with 3 plugs upfront. Newegg nor Antec carry spare parts for high paying costumers, on the other hand I was supplied to take apart my whole rig to send it back to wait possibly two weeks for a TINY replacement frontside header. Never ever once again, Antec. Overall: If you have a 1200 watt PSU with 14 SATA/Molex power plugs, DOZENS of 2.five"Ǚ.five" drives, only two optical drives, no children/pets to break off these low-cost plastic clips over the 5.25" bays, don't use your optical drives on a daily basis as these stupid clips get in the way, and delight in folks "oo-ing" at your rig; then this is ideal fo

Okay so case overall is superior. There is tiny bubbles in the paint but I think it may possibly be produced that way not sure. Fans maintain almost everything cool and in a position to hold my two sapphire 6970 2gb cards. Case is just amazing have been fan of antec since 900 then 1200 now this. I can't see myself purchasing a unique case. Okay only flaw I can see is DO NOT Acquire A CARD READER!! They did not give you a five.25 to 3.five bay cover. So my card reader I ordered is pretty useless correct now. GRRRR I needed that too. So I decided to be mean and knock a star. Okay so overall actually pleased with this construct. Its my 3rd construct from Newegg. Again newegg is always on top rated when it comes to prices, shipping, client service. So as lengthy as Newegg keeps offering Antec situations, I will maintain buying! lol.

Greatest over all design I've observed for the price. sturdy, desirable, great space even for the biggest accessories. added 3 blood red fans and the situations nevertheless has a lot of room for two 5850 video cards and the massive cooler. Doesn't really need the drive covers, but that may make this special from other instances. Some tight cables, but take your time and it will all manage. Vampire red is cool but would also have liked Zombie Green choice. This case is built for those that want a step above the norm.

I absolutely positively like this case. It took a small time to grow on me as this case is enormous, but as far as new full towers go, this is one of the less deep, which is what i wanted as it is on a desk rather than on the floor. It will hold 9 hard drives, which slide correct in the front, i purchased two additional sata power mounts from Antic, as the case comes with 2 which is adequate fit 4 drives, you can have 8 total with slide mount. The fans are excellent, the front 3 have variable speed, the two in back and the 2 on best have hi/lo switches. It has wonderful access holes for wire routing. The vent for the side mounted fan lets it suck dust into the case, i am figuring on a way to mount a filter on this mount, as i do not need to have a fan there at this time. Probably will get the Antec 1000W CP extra large power provide produced especially for this case and the 1200 series, as soon as i am in a position to order my Sandy Bridge motherboard & 2600k processor.

Cut outs for cable management behind the board.Front bays open quickly and quite easy to install into. (although haven't tried a water reservoir so not certain about those)Opens simply on all sides and solid construction. The supplied fans even turned all the way up are not that loud (maybe 20-25DB) and on the lowest settings it's essentially dead silent (probably somewhere about 10DB) Even 4800-7200 RPM variable speed HDs are louder than the lowest fan settings on this case. The edges are rounded and you seriously can't cut yourself on this factor. Top 5.25" can't hold a 5.25" drive due to the very first fan on the leading of the case hanging in the way of the drive. The covers on the drive bays on the other hand stylish are annoying if you need to open your optical drive often or if you install a fan controller there (although since all the fans have their own controllers on them, so no real cause to install a controller). This case is a BEAST. It weighs a lot when it's loaded up, and it's not the easiest thing to carry about, but if you pay attention to the weight on the particulars page, and really look at and measure out the size specs, then you will see this. This is a full sized tower, so if you get a power provide that has dinky cable lengths, it might be complicated to actually use the space behind the motherboard tray for cable management. My Rig:Antec DF-85 caseCore i7-940 2.93GHz LGA1366Prolimatech MegaShadow CPU coolerASUS Rampage III FormulaG.Skill Ripjaw Series 12GB ƓX4GB) DDR3 1600 (soon to be 24GBƜ WD 1TB Caviar Black HDDs (storage and informationƛ WD 150GB Raptor HDD (OS and games)Soon to be included:EVGA NVIDIA Fermi GTX-560 Ti - (using 8800gts till then)Corsair CMPSU-850HX PSU - (using apevia 900W warlock till then)

Pros:Drive baysFunctionality
Comment:
I’ve had this case almost a year now. Amazing. Normally don’t keep stuff that long. I didn’t like the Fan power connectors, nor the rear fan speed controllers. No adapters to connect these Fans to the Motherboard. Some might think, connecting 8 fans to a motherboard would create  a problem. They might draw too much power. In most cases you would be right. In my case, I first had an Asus Maximus II Formula in this Case. It has 8 on board fan connectors. So for me connecting all the Fans is not an issue. But I couldn’t because of the Fan connectors that came with it. I dealt with that issue a bit later. Cable Management took some thinking. The corsair 750 I had, had quite long Cables, not Modular so routing them in behind between the m/b and back panel was a good option. Lots of zap straps, but all went well considering. My m/b just fit. It’s 10.6” long, and brings it right up to the drive bays. Not good. Connecting the h/d’s and hot-swap was tight. I broke one h/d when the data cable bent too far and broke the little plastic piece that holds it off. Fix came later. I love these Hot-Swap Bays. That’s one of the reasons I bought this case. 2.5” and 3.5” hot swap. I use them often when I custom machines. When all was said and done, everything worked, cables for the most part were all tucked out of sight. About 3 weeks ago A buddy wanted another Machine and was willing to pay for my M/B. I found this smoking deal on a Maximus IV-Z board, so I went ahead. Now, was the time to fix this case the way I wanted it. First, I got me some new Fans and a modular power supply. Ripped the old Fans out. The front speed knobs had to stay. They are glued in and I didn’t want to break them so I just cut the wires close enough so I could re solder them back, if in future I wanted to sell this case. When I put the new m/b in I realized it was even larger. A whole inch. From 9.6 to 10.6. It was bad enough before. The Sata connectors on the M/B are even closer to the edge of the drive bay frame, when h/d’s are installed they are right above the connectors, which makes connections really tight, luckily enough that Frame has vent holes in it, but of course not large enough to put a cable through. I took my wire cutters and snipped through some of them to make them twice as big and now the cables can come straight out of the m/b and through the vent holes and back around to the h/d. 2 problems solved. The power supply was a bit easier since I didn’t need to tie off the unused cables in the back anymore since it’s a modular unit. All my 10 Fans are now connected to my new m/b. Software controls them and so can I. I moved the 3.5” Hot-Swap connector to the bottom and removed the other since I don’t need 4 hot-Swap drives. Didn’t want to put it on the bottom but I had no choice since the m/b power connector was right there. Nice feature though, that one can remove them. Kudos for that. Lots of drive bay room. Cooling is nice. 3 in the front blowing in and the other 5case Fans out. Might change the top to blow in cause my Noctua NH-D14 fans blow in two different directions. I’m going to give this case a 4 out of 5 and that’s being nice. Making this case this small in my opinion is a huge mistake on Antec’s part. My original Maximus formula II board was already out when this case was made. It was already was too tight then, now its worse with the new m/b. I paid $170 plus tax. Lotta money for something that should have worked. At least it should have fit my old board. Can’t blame them on the new one. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-04-11 02:41 PM

It looks great!!! I mean 7 fans come with it. All fan speeds can be adjusted and 5 fans have red LEDs. Lengthy, wide and tall. Best for a gaming develop. The wire management is fantastic but I was not in a position to hide all wires, but that is not that huge of a deal. GPU case fan does not have a filter. It kinda defeats the purpose of having filters on all intake fans except that 1. I purchased an Antec TriCool Red 120m fan for the GPU case fan spot and also a ModRight FilterRight Square Style 120mm Clear Aluminum Fan Filter. If you do not use a filter like I did at initial you will notice dust quickly start collecting on the Plexiglas. This was an additional 22 bucks, for the fan and filter, but nicely worth it. I love this case. Big sufficient for anything I'll want to upgradefor my forseeable future. Front fan filters are a great fit for mydusty property. I had an Antec 900 before this and dust bunnys werea big problem . I was tired of blue leds and all the reds in this case aregreat and not as annoying as blue. I've wanted a black case that was painted black inside so wasn' t disappointed .Wire routing was alsosuperb. :-) Beware of the nonremovable motherboard tray as it initially short circuted my motherboard. Could be a stamping QC issue, but some insulating tape on the tray fixed it. Knocked an egg off for this. Reading evaluations on Antec items tells me that they need to haveto roll some QC heads to save their reputation.

Cons:-Minimal Cable Management

Pros:-Big-Lots of Room-HotSwap Bays-Easy Access to Fan Filters
Comment:
Purchased this case merely as a replacement for my 4 external hard drives, rather than have 4 drives hanging around I placed them inside the case in the 4 (included) hotswap bays. Enabling AHCI on the motherboard is not possible due to my setup, which means I technically cannot hotswap, however taking them out with the PC off is perfectly acceptable.I put the drive in an external enclosure and I'm ready to go.Cable management was an issue, however the case has a bit of leway when it comes to putting cables on the outer shell of the case (thought the 2 sides bend to accommodate).

When I opened the box the first thing I thought was "This case is Big and it looks like a monster." I like the fan doors mainly because it makes it a lot easier to take the dust filters out for cleaning as opposed to the Antec 1200. Not considerably of a assessment correct now simply because I've only had this case for a few hours now. Will do a follow up in the future No cons on the case proper now but I do have one thing to say about the shipping. My box came with some of the corners smashed in like if it was dropped a few instances and there is a hole on the side of the box as nicely. When I opened the box and got the case out the fan control knob on the best 120mm fan in the front was pushed in. I opened the fan door to take the fan off to push it back out and one of the plastic clips holding the control knob in location was broken. The knob still stays in place though but it would have been nice for it not to have arrived broken. I believe it would have been nice if the case box was put into yet another box for added protection throughout transport. Manufacturer Response:We're glad you're enjoying your DF-85 but if you have any concerns about that knob, don't hesitate to contact our support department. This chassis was at Computex where I had a chance to appear at it. Hot Swap is good and lots of fans for cooling. Dust filters are a good addition. cable management is improved. Many high core gamers are employing E-ATX motherboards now and this chassis doesn't support it according to the specs. I don't believe quad SLI will fit either but I could be wrong about that. Not supporting E-ATX motherboards is a major blunder here. In addition Antec must have worked with NVIDIA for assure that Fermi cooling was optimum. Nevertheless, if you have a standard ATX motherboard then this is a great chassis to use.

Antec DF-85 Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Cons:- The top fan closest to the front is practically touching the 5.25" drive bay on the inside of the case.- 5.25" drive bay hinge covers feel a little flimsy- 2.5" hot-swap on top of the case had a visually loose connection. I had to put off the clear cover (remove 1 philips screw) and push the cable into the hotswap cable.- Front fan door lock feels a tad cheap- VERY LITTLE INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN (2 pages, both contain multiple languages)- Comes with a lot of front panel cables (more cables than my PSU)- Faint ticking from the lower back fan (not too worried about it)- USB 3.0 isn't connected via a header, its routed through the case to plug into the back panel- No individual fan controlls / reading digitally (strictly analogue)- each fan connects itself with a male - female 4-pin molex cable, making chains of connections in the back panel.- To ground yourself while building use the screws as they are the only part of the case that touch bare metal.

Pros:Looks AMAZING! I was deciding between this case and a haf 932 advanced.- You can run liquid cooling in this case (I didn't)- The front fans being on hinges seems to be un-important, but I have used them quite a bit more than I expected as they are the covers for the 3.5" drive bays.- USB 3.0 on the front panel!- ANALOGUE FAN CONTROL- Side viewing panel- Keeps the system cool without after-market fans- I enjoy pressing the power and reset button, they feel nice to me :)- ITS ALL BLACK (very hard to find non-painted surfaces)- Cable management is excellent 5 re-useable zip ties, lots of ports, and plenty of room in the back panel.

Yes lots of points in both pros and cons, I'm just being informative to those interested. I actually do recommend this case when its on sale. Its got a decent build quality, though some parts feel a little cheap. To be honest, its a case that will keep your system easily cool. 5 Stars because it feels like the cooler master haf 932, is within the same price range, and has more features to keep yourself busy for a while :)P.S. For a little fun, look through the back fan (while the PC is on) and look at the front fans. Now adjust the analogue control know for the front fanI thought it was pretty spiffy :)

Comment:
The entire case is full of pros. 7 beefy, backlit fans maintain each and every component in my high efficiency machine below 80 in idle and below 90 when running FSX in full graphics. There is so considerably room in the case that, in most cases, liquid cooling will not be necessary (unless you are packing a bunch of graphics cards next to each other). Lots of room for difficult drives, optical drives, etc. And with the effortless to access hot swap drive bays, and 2.5" sata swap up best, it is amazing if you do any work with laptop or computer repair, hard drive cloning, etc. Washable fan filters keep the system cool without having impeding airflow. It's a lot less difficult to clean a fan guard than to air dust out a motherboard. Drive guards look cool, and genuinely support out in transport. Built in fan controllers are good. You can use a usb 3., but it has to plug into the back board of the tough drive by way of a weird wire system. Fans are not compatible for a standard fan controller. Overall, a excellent model. Very versatile, and really powerful at cooling hardware. If Antec had created some alternative to add fans you can manage with a normal fan controller, it would be ideal, but as it sits, it is an awesome product. If you are creating a new computer, or have to keep your side panel off your old upgrader to maintain it cool, acquire this case. Jaws will drop.

-Enormous with a lot of selections in the future to upgrade-comes with 7 fans, three on the front consists of stepless fan control, leading two and the two on the rear has a sliding fan manage and is set to high or low-cool temps with all the airflow -not the greatest fans, but fans are quite affordable-best two fans are 140mm which are kinda in the way of the leading 5.25 bay so dont expect to fit an optical drive on the top bay-only has 3 five.25 bays, could use a bit more specifically with the top one getting a hassle-no vents for psu intake......kind of one of the greatest downfalls.....ill have to drill some holes myself -paint job was a bit sloppy (black raised dots of paint, prob due to improper painting, unless it was meant to be like that o.o) Bought this case from a distinct retailer for 贡.99 following instant rebate and MIR so that was a fairly superior steal. For the price I paid, i feel it was a solid investment, at the price newegg is offering at, I would recommend go buy the antec 1200. roughly very same price but so a lot superior
