Antec Sonata III 500 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Quite quiet and high good quality. Plenty room to access elements. Wonderful power provide. A small larger than I would have liked, but it confident gets the job accomplished. The energy switch is behind a door which is an annoyance but the door keeps things quiet. The side door latch is too tight, but due to the fact I do not open up the case significantly, I can reside with that difficulty. I had a little case which was stressed by heat and noise. I upgraded to AMD 1055T X6 which I knew would make matters worse. I added a Noctua cooler. My ATI 5750 vga is a noisy kitchen stove also. I now have a nearly silent and extremely cool laptop or computer.

This solid, sleek little case is well worth the income. I'm applied this case to construct my file/proxy/cache server and all elements fit nicely with no hassle. I particularly appreciate the tool-much less side mounting drive bays with the soft rubber bushings. The 500w PSU is super quiet - so far so great. Each front and side locking panels are a plus! Antec is my computer case of option! My only complaint is the PSU cables are not modular, but not a deal breaker, especially at this cost.

Easy, Clean Style. Effortless to install drives. I record music and the Fan is a bit loud. The front USBs only operate when they want to. Not a negative case, if you replace the fan.

Best case I've ever had. Mid tower is great size, not as well heavy, and comes with 500W psu. the tough drive racks are cushioned and slide in and out easily. If you swap tricky drives in and out alot (like I do) this is like a dream come correct. If you're worried about space I have an nvidia 9800 GT and a huge zalman cooler and they fit just fine. Also operating two challenging drives with no problems either. The front dust screen operates like a charm. every so frequently i just pull it out, wipe some dust, and slide it in. Case upkeep is a breeze with this case. I would have preferred a clear side panel so I could see into the case, but all solid black looks great too. At initially I was a small worried about the air flow and that it only had one particular fan so I stuck in the "optional front 120 mm fan". Absolutely UNNECESSARY. I took it out and run my rear fan on low. Had this case for three years now and in no way regretted it. Antec is up to it's old antics, making high quality circumstances.

I bought 5 of these towers for a new build for my Dad. Couldn't be happier with the provided accessories and options. My next case will be one of these.

The PSU alone is ๖ on NE plus I got cost-free shipping. I was able to fit a 5850 GPU in there, barely. Overall an excellent case and PSU for the cost. Althought subsequent time I would possibly order anything larger without a PSU since I ordered a seperate larger Corsiar 750W PSU anyway. The front door doesnt swing open smoothly after about a month of use. It started catching about halfway open and the way its created it looks like it could break pretty straightforward. Its pretty modest so depending on your wants, it doesnt have significantly space for a front fan if your using a bigger video card. I didnt use the PSU considering that its also smaller for my needs but its good to have a spare back one particular on hand.

Fundamentally a incredibly great item on the surface. See cons even though. The ESD challenge on this product has triggered me untold amount of hours among mobo and USB based peripheral vendors in order to nail down this challenge. This contains many, several painful hours with different tech support personnel, emails, phone calls, ....over the last year and rebuilding systems. No present, as of 3ǟ񳏊, clear communication from Antec that acquiring one of these products proper now, will or won't trigger the purchaser to have to deal with this ESD issue on the front assembly! Make contact with Antec consumer assistance and ask for the replacement front panel assembly kit. This is Antec's "solution" to the ESD dilemma.I've not received and installed mine however.I'm posting this as this was not posted right here in Newegg that I could discover as of this date, threeǟ񳏊. I also could not uncover, although don't claim I didn't miss it, on Antec.com/support

Was utilized for a new develop. Effortless to perform with. I have applied three Antec situations in the past. This was first one that had sharp adequate edges to leave a small blood behind. I thought the top quality was a little lower than what I applied in the past, but as soon as completed I won't be inside for sometime. Ease of assembly is their strength.

Getting aesthetically conscious, I don't want some weird glowy case made for teenagers, haha. This one particular of the nicest hunting situations out there.Having a 500-watt powersupply is good. There's a lot of space inside for components, and haven't had a lot concern fitting components in. Sliding mobo would've been nice, but ah nicely.Fan is quiet, and my program is running really cool. Have a quadcore with 260gtx GPU.Other persons complain about the lights becoming vivid, haven't noticed. I don't believe it blinks at all when in Sleep mode, if it does it's certainly not vibrant sufficient to notice. I sleep correct next to the Pc so I'd know. All really minor gripes.Front door is a bit on the chintsy side, but immediately after swinging it open and closing for a year, it's nonetheless holding up fine. While, 1 annoyance is that Windows automatically opens the drive after burning a disc, so gotta keep in mind to open the door for that.Never ever had a single static discharge in more than a year of employing this thing, contrary to other critiques.Every single as soon as in awhile my computer crashes (wish I could figure out why, urrgh), and when it does the front USB ports sometimes wouldn't perform. Had to flick the power switch on and off to reset it to get it operating. Due to the fact I don't know my Pc's crashing, can't actually fault the Antec case.Man, the rubber bottom *really* keeps the desktop in spot. Very difficult to move, you essentially have to lift it. Would like a a lot more friction-much less bottom. Chose this more than the Antec P183 mainly because the P183 is large. A year later still think it's a single of the best out there.

Antec Sonata III 500 Black Computer Case
Comment:
This case and power supply is an superb foundation for a computer system build. The case is desirable. The front-panel jacks and manage buttons are placed nicely on the front panel, and their connecting cables are lengthy enough to reach any location on a motherboard. The removal of the HD trays is very easily achieved in seconds, and with no tools. There are cushioning grommets for use in shock-mounting Tough Drives. New versions of this case have holes on the bottom (floor) of the case for mounting a new Solid State Drive (SSD). This case runs quietly, and cools well. Antec goods are trustworthy, and I have used them just before. A question to their E-mail support on an earlier case was answered promptly, with the precise and right details I had requested. Antec items are worthwhile investments.NewEgg shipping "strikes" once again! I ordered the case w/free shipping, and it arrived the next day. Totally NONE! NewEgg is a dependable company, and stocks what they claim. I have in no way ordered an "In stock" item from them, and then received a Back Order notice.

Antec Sonata III 500 Black Computer Case

Solid develop top quality, sleek conservative style, quiet(case), simple to perform in, plenty of drive bays (for a mid-tower), effortless to access three.five" HDD bays, front port eSATA, etc. Regardless of extraordinary construct quality for the case, however Antec pre-installs less than typical case fans. From the much less than impressive CFM ratings to the ridiculously high dBA (noise) ratings on the fans, I’m disappointed due to the fact this case is supposed to be all about noise reduction. Also, you have to flip the case on it's side to take away the air filter, type of a pain if you Computer isn't sitting out in the open. One of the clips you squeeze to get rid of the filter broke very easily on mine creating it complicated to get rid of the filter for cleaning. A good case if noise is a concern for you, but possibly look at quieter fans and be cautious removing the air filter.Bear in mind a case is all about air flow so clean the filter typically.

Cons:Plain Optical Bay Area

Pros:QuietGood-Looking when shutExcellent base power supplyLock for sealing in components
Comment:
Simple case, elegant when the front is closed, but an unfinished interior by the optical drives gives a feeling of cheapness. I trust Antec power supplies, so the fact that this includes a 500w unit, even if not used with this case is a good positive.

Antec Sonata III 500 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Pros are SIDEWAYS Tough DRIVE BAYS and SCREWS TO HOLD IN PCI CARDS. I wish all cases had been made this way. The front of this case is very flimsy and the locking front door is flimsy and useless. The case has a plastic screen to filter out dust, but it has a large gap in between it and the case so air will just go around it. Also the whole upper area of the case where the DVD drives go will also let in air once again making the filter useless. Nobody desires a door on the front of their PC. It just gets in the way of DVD drives, and so on.

Built a Pc back in 08 w/ this identical case... was impressed with it back then, so I figured I'd go with what I know for my shiny new core i7 develop :)Core i7-870 w/ ASUS P7P55D-E MB. Straightforward develop ... course, I knew this case from my previous create w/ it - so yeah, no prob. ;)Power provide appears high good quality, and quiet. Liking the PS so far.... minor nit picks... compared to identical case I purchased in ང - the side panel on this 1 does not fit flush unless I use the back screws - this was not the case with the exact same case I purchased in 08. Also the door and latch seem a small cheesier than just before - minor although. Overall - a really good case - and superb PS.

Antec Sonata III 500 Black Computer Case
Comment:
Appealing without bling. Good power supply, and reasonably simple assembly. Far more screws and other hardware than most folks will need. Not of the very same quality as the original Sonata. As just 1 example, the thumbscrews in the back are not permanently attached. The cable management is not perfect. The original Sonata let 1 get rid of all the three.five" drives at once to get behind them. This 1 does not. Mainly because this case mounts the drives rotated by 90 degrees, you have more cause to want to get back there, and less capability to do so. The option is to mount the caseThe case is not as quiet as Antec would like you to think - the loudest component is their own 120mm fan. Even at the lowest speed there is quite a hum there. As mentioned, by "piano black", they mean "holds your fingerprints". In some environments, this might be a difficulty. I believe it looks great, but it's not some thing that gets touched generally.

Extremely nice develop top quality. Mine came with the 500 watt power supply which saved me a few bucks. I like the front door for a clean look. Other's have stated the door feels affordable, I don't get the similar feeling. Not a entire lot of space. If I had to do more than, I would have most likely spent a few added bucks to get the Corsair 600T. Only comes with 1 fan.

In the spending budget case range, you get an outstanding, confirmed excellent power supply with a quite good case. Excellent drive bays, screwless sort, shock absorbers and bottom mount 3.5" drive bays, nice, sleek appear, etc. None, genuinely. Not a single concern. I've built a lot of computers with budget cases, and I will tell you that this 1 blows them all out of the water. I don't know how you could construct with any other ุ to โ case and not be fully in really like with this case. Seriously, I could gush on all day about how significantly nicer this case is than it's cost point competitors. If you're questioning if you really should get it, stop. Do it. You won't be sorry if you're not some kind of weirdo. It's not a premium case, but it was a pleasure to build with.

Solid style, very easily accessed front-side air intake filter, really quiet. Sleek look. Straightforward to function with The front-side panel in my unit looked fine, but proved to be unreliable, to say the least. The mic in jack took up to 30 seconds to register that one thing was plugged in (no such concern with rear jack) and the headphone jack introduced important interference into the line. Additional annoyingly, each the front-side USB ports developed issues in much less than a year. The first lost the plastic guide that keeps you from bending the get in touch with pins, the second basically stopped working. Not getting a spare case, I did not RMA. Immediately after all the superior feedback I've heard about Antec, this lack of top quality control is rather disappointing. Keep in mind that you may run into cable length difficulties with this case if you're planning on working with IDE devices inside. In my case, the motherboard only had 1 IDE connector, and I had to do quite a bit of twisting about to make the ribbon reach each the three.five" IDE hdd and the nearest five.25" drive bay for the DVD drive.

Genuinely nice seeking case. Easy access to internals. screwless mounts for HD's and cards. Good filter on the front air inlet. About six months soon after getting the case, i noticed that it would reboot if I touched the front usb ports. I unplugged the cable connecting those ports to the board, and the similar thing kept happening. I lived with it a while, just avoiding the front ports, but I would accidentally brush against the ports each and every now and then. I eventually replaced the case and no longer had any problems like this. I don't really know what was happening here. I definitely liked the case, seemed like a incredibly sturdy and nicely built piece from a superior name. Possibly it was just a fluke, IDK. Just thought I'd pass my encounter along.

I have built about 5 PC with this type of case. Extremely dependable and quiet. I have been wanted to attempt a newer design, but have reverted back to this case Other than the best swinging door to access it that occasionally gets in the way, it is a wonderful case. PC noise is really minimal with a Zalman cooling method.

Bought this for a budget desktop build because it came with a power supply. For the price I paid, it is a very good price especially since the power supply is decent enough to run low to mid tier setup. The noise level is surprisingly low though this is only my initial impression of it.Will definitely be purchasing this for my future builds

Cons:Wish the front didn't have a door on it.Not as quiet as it claims to be.

Pros:Rock solid power supplyGood airflowEasy to work in
Comment:
I've got a power meter hooked up to my PC right now. With Prime95 and Furmark running I'm hitting about 450 watts. The air coming out of the power supply is still nice and cool, and the small fan is quieter than the case fan at the back. Easy HD mounting, air filter catches the big stuff, and decent airflow. I can't get anything to overheat even with the single exhaust fan at the back of the case. The original Tricool fan died earlier this year, but it was only $12 for a new Sytche fan.
