Good modular cable set. Unit failed immediately after only 5 months of operation. Must have handled my technique simply. EVGA MB w/Intel E8400, 4G Ram, 2HDDs, 2 DVDs, EVGA 9800GT. I commonly have no issues with Antec so I never ever kept track of the receipt. Now I can't RMA it devoid of one particular. Feel I'm carried out with Antec for a even though. I've had two seperate Antec Energy Supplies die on two distinct systems now in the last year Manufacturer Response:TruePower New, Antec’s most recent household of advanced power supplies, has been shipping for about a month, so the customer’s claims simply can not be true. We strongly encourage him to get in touch with Antec’s Consumer Support team to get the superior service we are identified for.

Replaced my old Antec whose five volts dropped to 4 V. Failed at the 120V connection after four months. The failure was a physical a single. The cable connector arced inside the unit if the connection was manipulated. Power was maintained if you forced it in a diagonal direction. Without having intervention, no power produced it to the energy supply. I'll be looking for warranty relief.

Worked like it should till it quit I had 2 of these correct energy 550's, ƒ comps) Following just more than a year the first one went out taking the mobo with it. I replaced the mobo, and got a BFG 650 that is nonetheless going powerful for about 2 years now in the comp I am typing on now. I put the other Antec 550 I had in this comp on the new mobo in the other and it lasted about another six - 8 months prior to dying and frying but an additional mobo. I will not ever trust Antec to my high priced components once again. The second Antec did last a tiny over two years prior to going out so I guess that could be decent. But the reality that each had the same issue and both took the mobo with it just sucks.

Fantastic appear in jet black, sleeved wires, decent modularity, reasonably quiet 120mm fan, extremely superior voltages. Listing described it as much more modular than it essentially is -- it has a base set of cables hardwired, and additions are modular. At my buy value (ษ), it's nonetheless a excellent deal, but a modular power provide ought to let you avoid unused plugs dangling about in the case. From the listing "The primary energy cables are permanently attached, even though all of the peripheral cables all plug into the back of the PSU" Which is simply not correct -- and what's a lot more, the add on cables are all multi-connectors. The result is I nevertheless ended up with many unused plugs, which kinda defeats the point of a modular method. But in the end, it's minor, and for ษ, it's nonetheless a amazing energy supply. And I located the voltages to be incredibly reliable -- a lot far better even than the Antec that came with my case. I'd look at this a superior deal even up to โ.

Price tag was wonderful. Tons of cabling. Dead on arrival. Suprising for something Antec, in my expertise. Too considerably cabling that can not be removed if not utilized. Go with some thing more modular. Don't give up on Antec, but this model disapointed me.

i can't say sufficient about this psu; quiet fan, steady power partial modular system energy cord sits a bit loose, just touching the cord kills the energy to the pc otherwise, i'm incredibly content with this unit. i can often tighten up the power cord fit with a bit of electricians tape.

Solidly built unit, *lots* of cables plus much more back-up cables, quiet fan. Maybe *too* a lot of cables. I like the unit. It isn't low-cost, but you can tell the manufacturer did a initially rate construct. It comes with a package of extra cables, in case you will need much more connections for hardware. I used it in a case where the PS is placed on the bottom. I think it would do better in a leading-mount case, exactly where the cables would be less in the way. The fan is like a whisper.

I bought this for about ็ which includes a rebate.Antec e-mailed me about missing the UPC code, and gave me a opportunity to resend it rather of merely denying the existence of mentioned rebate. When I e-mailed them that I had indeed included the UPC, ready to send in my scans, I received a response within three minutes (or so sayeth Gmail) that informed me that they had located the UPC code inside the envelope. That level of responsibility (not quickly trashing a file when initially deemed invalid) inspired me to write this review.Oh, and the PSU itself appears pretty solid - I'm not effectively educated in PSU hardware but I believe most difficulties would relate to positioning within distinct instances rather than reliability. It's not such a hot deal marked at ๪. I normally go for Computer Power and Cooling, but I did get this for ็...Favors bigger instances...I'll want to wait the full 60 days, but that's greater than waiting 90 for absolutely nothing.

two 12v rails. don't see any need to have for a lot more than that. four tough drives and two cd drives, excellent to go. adequate power for a good rig, if you require much more than above, then grab Antec's next step up that dose have three 12v rails. if you are going to run high end graphics cards in sli, then yea, step it up a few watts.

Good, lots of connections and some are modular. High excellent connectors for new and older systems as properly. Perhaps too several connetions that can be difficult to organize specially in a tight case. There is a extremely noticeable. There is also a high pitched eletrical whine when it is plugged in. I've read of a similar phenomenon in a couple of customer reviews for the true energy 650 but not the 550. I'll call client service to see what they have to say about this. I'd give it 4 stars if not for the high pitched whine concern.

Significant quiet fan works well with my existing setup to keep air flow temps incredibly comfy. Definitely like the selectable cable attributes. A lot of power for a mid range (not too heavily modified) laptop or computer. Too many wires pre assembled to the PSU primary power cables. If you don't have some room to stuff the excess, you'll uncover it difficult to manage inside your case. I'd like to high five everyone one of you guys/gals. I ordered the PSU on Sunday afternoon and had it on my door step by Tuesday morning. I've tried going for the fast fixes by employing significant retail chain shops *coughcoughbestbuycoughcough*, and always ended up getting burnt in the finish. I'll never make that mistake once more. Thankyou Newegg

Bought at a neighborhood store when it was on sale last week for ์.Nice looking unit.Semi-modular cables.Antec-branded. Up to about a year ago, Antec had been my choice for energy supplies and instances for my builts. Even so, it appears like the top quality has gone down considering that then. I've had fairly a couple of Antec PSUs gone bad on me, ranging from Basiq to this one. This 1 lived for about an hour and just died with out any warnings. Absolutely nothing seemed to be out of the norm with my develop. Gigabyte P55-UD3R, i5 750, Radeon 4650 card, 1 HDD, 1 DVD burner. It died even before I tried to over-clock the method. No burned smell or anything so I believed it could have been the MOBO that had gone bad until I swapped in my spare PSU to pin point the difficulty. Brought back to the store and exchanged for the Earthwatt 650W. Issue solved. However it costed me ฤ more and 3 hrs of taking the PSU out (sucks, due to the fact I tied up all the cables and had to tear them out), driving back and forth, waiting in line to return and acquire a new 1. I guess I'll get started reading reviews once more and will undoubtedly be looking for alternatives. Corsair, Thermaltake, and even Rosewill is looking pretty darn superior suitable now. :-D

A lot of connectors (and much more in the bag)Stable powerLengthy, sleeved cables produced it straightforward to keep them organized Less an egg for rebate service. No confirmation (or check) received two months after submitting rebate. Antec apparently handles all rebates in house now after their last rebate contractor went bankrupt, so there is no third party to blame here. All emails have gone unanswered so far. Still a steal for what I got, even sans rebate. A trusted tech reviewer gave this one high marks and 1 of the Black November offers created this a must purchase for me.

Cons: Not 100% modular (that's why it's inexpensive)

Pros: Inexpensive, quiet, good quality.
Comment:
Good quality PSU, quiet, inexpensive. However, it is not fully modular. So for example, if you are running on board graphics, you are gonna have some cables hanging around not doing anything. But for the price, it's nothing big.

Purchased for a build to go with the Antec 300 case. Easy to mount with plenty of additional cables to power devices. Runs nice and quiet and cool, but I do not have "gaming" hardware so I don't know if it will have enough for gamers.
