got it to perform with my kvm (IOGEAR GCS614A four-Port PSǘ KVM switch) it took some perform but i figured it out. got it because it is nice and clean, not a major boxy point. i'm making use of it on a gigabyte ma785gm and it will not operate with the switch even though installing the os. keyboard works but no mouse. not a huge deal as long as it works following that. you have no thought how frustrated i was. to get it to work, set up the os (vista 64) with unique mouse keyboard. do not use a password for the user profile. finish install then unplug other mouse keyboard, turn off employing power switch, plug in adapter with mouse and keyboard plugged in, turn on personal computer, windows detects adapter correctly. after that you can add a password.

Connected my ergonomic "AT" style keyboard to my legacy totally free laptop. (I already hat an AT to PS2 adapter on the keyboard.) Can't beat the value. Not a con, but a warning. The USB connector has an inline logic chip that identifies the device to Windows. This signifies the downstream devices can not send their very own idents to the computer. As a result, the laptop did not recognize my Intelipoint Trackball. So... Be conscious the quite intelligent "legacy" devices might loose some functionality. That said, the trackball had its personal USB adapter, So I'm completely ergonomic and operational.

inexpensive does not perform at all with my IBM Model M keyboard. I returned the initial a single and got an additional and it didn't function either. I just got a TRENDNET TU-PS2 and that performs fine with this keyboard. You get what you spend for.

The device permits me to use my stoneage keyboard and mouse with computers that do not have PS2 ports. It was a affordable option to the retail retailer version which was 5x the price tag of this. It doesn't work appropriately with a Linksys four port powered KVM switch. The mouse would move, but I'd have to click about ten instances just to pick some thing and the keyboard was fully non-functional. Once I bypassed the KVM and connected directly, it worked with no a hitch, even in the BIOS screens. An inexpensive alternative to futzing around with new keyboards and mice.

High Good quality Supplies and effectively made. All connections fit great, not as well tight not loose. Allowed me to hook up old PSǘ mouse and keyboard by means of KVM switch with PSǘ connections to a new USB port on HP desktop (HPE 300z) running windows 7. Functions perfectly. I need to have to upgrade to a KVM with USB connections but until then this will permit me to use old peripherals with an older KVM switch on newer systems. None I attempted two other adapters and they didn't perform. Must have purchased Bytecc the initially time.

Functions when it functions. two out of three either were dead when I got them, or I appear to have fried by attaching to an intel Mac. The lights don't come on, when I plug them in I get a single character repeated. (Won't work with OSX or with BootCamp or with Parallels.) The 3rd adapter I haven't dared connect to my MacBook, it's connected to a Dell server. It worked, but then seemed to cease working right after a though. If I unplugged and plugged it back in, it performs once again.I bought this product over yet another related one since of the very good testimonials here on NewEgg, I'm surprised... Messing with these usb adapters that must just plug and play; attempting to get machines to recognize them took over an hour of my day and ended with only one of the 3 that I bought functioning at all. I also have a couple of of these adapters of a various brand, (no longer readily available). I can connect anything (mouse, tracball, ergo keyboard, typical keyboard) to the old sets, connect them to any laptop or computer and they work fine. They don't cease functioning right after a little while either. I'd advocate trying out a distinct item over these Byteccs.

smaller package Doesn't work beneath OS X ten.5. If you open Process Profiler and look at USB devices this device shows up with vendor ID 0x13ba/product ID 0x0017 and is reported as a generic USB keyboard -- BUT IT DOESN'T FUNCTION. Buy the Sarbent SBT-PS2U (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156004). The physical hardware is the similar with distinct firmware and works completely. LED lets you know when it is connected.Haven't had a issue with keystrokes inaccurately repeating.Performs fine with my IBM Model M. Quit working immediately after 3 months. I opened the casing with a light hammer tap and checked the connections, two wires had been crossed that shouldn't have been.I moved the wires more than, put the case back on, and now it performs perfectly yet again.

It is little. Functions with my 9 year old all PS2 belkin KVMs. have applied on: newer Dell desktops (all USB), Dell Laptops, Apple laptops, Mac Minis, HP laptops, over 500 different non PS2 based desktop from all key brands more than the last 3 years. In no way had a difficulty that was the adapter's fault. They do not multiply on their own. It doesn't hook it self up. I got this given that the newer desktops and laptops are all USB. It enabled me to use my 9 year PS2 old4 port KVMs. I am a pc tech and I see a lot of machines just about every week. Not possessing to set up a separate monitor, keyboard, and mouse saves me a lot of space. also not getting to spend the money on a replacement KVM is a great factor too.

None Doesn't perform effectively. I bought two, and neither operate appropriately. The very first one particular regularly inserts extra characters into the buffer till you hit yet another essential (as if you were holding down a various crucial). The second one often resets the keyboard (keyboard reset, LEDs flash, keystrokes not accepted for a few seconds). These problems occurred when connected to a Linksys two-port KVM switch and when connected straight to the keyboard/mouse. The only cause I bought this is due to the fact I have an ergonomic (split) keyboard that only has a PSǘ plug. I want to retain the keyboard because it's a single of the couple of I've discovered that makes it possible for me to hold down several keys and essentially recognizes all of them (for example, the MS Natural Elite doesn't let you hold the L, I, and C keys at the exact same time), and it's one of the couple of (nowadays) that actually has the right keys in the right place (the residence/end block has all six keys, and the arrows are in the proper position). But because it doesn't perform appropriately, it's useless. I can't trust it to enter what I variety (and only what I form), so it makes it useless for any real use such as information entry, typing letters/invoices, and gaming.

Incredibly affordable USB connector was extremely loose in its socket and as a outcome it did not operate as soon as. Considering that there is a re-stocking fee, no sense in returning it as it is much less than six bucks.

These issues work excellent. I bought about a dozen of them for a Pc upgrade project. The new Pc's didin't have PS2 ports, and they were equipped with barcode scanners that necessary them. These tiny puppies worked perfectly for them making use of the keyboard end. None Excellent cost/works as intended.

It does partially perform sometimes, I guess. The only way I've been able to get this to operate is by obtaining it plugged in to a laptop or computer prior to I turn it on. I use a USB hub with my printer/mouse/keyboard so that I can very easily switch them to my laptop if I need to have to. This program fails with the Adaptec adapter, given that I can't stand having to reboot my machines every single single time I context switch. And when it does perform, it's buggy: If you hold down a single crucial and strike another, the initial crucial will no longer search pressed to the OS. Makes games unplayable.

Inexpensive. Bought two of these for distinct scenarios in 11-2008.Wanted to use PSǘ keyboard with a Mac Mini operating MythTV on OSX. Neither adapter was dependable. Would sometimes loose speak to with keyboard, perhaps following resuming from sleep? Unplug/replug wouldn't resolve the issue, had to reboot anytime this occurred. Very annoying. Abandoned adapter in favor of USB keyboard. Difficulty solved.Wanted to use a PSǘ KVM with a Mac Mini operating OSX. Neither adapter was reputable. Abandoned idea of accessing Mac Mini by means of this KVM. To be fair, I purchased a diverse pair of similarly priced USB to PSǘ adapters from a diverse web site after I tried these and had the similar problems with the other adapters. They appeared to be diverse products, but didn't appear to function any much better. Didn't bother returning them, considering they may come in handy on a Windows Pc. Now I'm wishing I had mainly because they are only collecting dust.

Modest size. Operates okay with my Belkin OmniView SE KVM switch, and it syncs rapid and reliably. The mouse looses resolution with the adapter. On systems with native PSǘ ports mouse motion is considerably smoother. I purchased this adapter since I was concerned that other less expensive adapters wouldn't work with my KVM. It seems to be hit or miss on what operates and what doesn't. When I very first plugged in the USB PSǘ adapter, nothing at all worked, until I removed all cables from the KVM and plugged every thing back in. Dunno quite what to say. Not impressed, but it operates.

Got it to perform halfway -- the keyboard was recognized. I purchased this to put a USB only computer system onto my Belkin OmniView KVM switch (F1D104), and unfortunately it didn't function. I had yet another USB-PSǘ adapter (made by Adesso) which worked fine, but with this a single I could only use the keyboard. Attempted it with two unique computers with no luck in either case.

I have a different 1 of these that works fine. It's very practical. This 1 I just bought from newegg.com does not function. I tried on two various computer systems. I swapped it with the other one particular I have that performs and this 1 does not operate, every thing else remaining the exact same. The green led comes on indicating it has energy. Occasionally, the keyboard would function but was extremely slow to respond. And the mouse was jerky and unusable.I suspect the firmware is in some sort of continual watchdog reset or becoming bombarded with interrupts more rapidly than it can deal with, this slowing every little thing down and/or making it absolutely unusable.
