I does what it's supposed to do. none I have a few of these, I use them on my KVM when a buyer brings in 1 of these stupid Dell computers that does not have PS2. I also use it for connecting laptops to my KVM and it functions much better than 90% of the time.

Excellent Adapter if it works. Plug it in and it operates. One particular of the two that I bought did not perform. I took the dust cover off and it took the metal USB connector with it. I nevertheless cannot seperate the metal connector from the dust cover. I have even utilized pliers. It need to be glued or melted in there. Newegg is usually excellent!!! I referred to as consumer service and they are sending me an additional one particular.

Works well connecting both PS2 keyboard and mouse to my laptop's USB port. May possibly not work with KVM switches. Have an IOGear GCS92 PS2/DVI KVM switch and a USB only laptop. When the adapter is connected to the KVM, the mouse operates wonderful but the keyboard does not respond. It's advertised to function with KVMs. But with my practical experience and these of other individuals', it's a crapshoot.

Lets me plug in my sweet, old school PSǘ trackball (why don't they make fantastic ones anymore?). Only occasionally works. This point is just frustrating. I preserve hoping it will perform, but it doesn't when I want it to. When it does work I attempt not to move or jiggle anything at all in hopes that it will maintain operating.

Neat, easy resolution. Affordable. Effectively made. Looks very good. Worked perfectly the complete time I used it. Essential remedy for combining a ShuttlePC and a classic IBM clicky keyboard. None other than it is not indestructible. When moving my Computer, I caught the PS2 finish of this adapter on the desk corner, pulling the USB end apart. If this component didn't break, the damage may have been to my Computer's USB port/motherboard, and far far more costly.

Easy to use, however basic and compact. Have ordered more than 10 units from the past year. Most recent acquire had been horrible. Mouse worked but KB part failed. Requested for RMA replacement, just got it back and none of the PS2 ports were working. Tested the older one I have which operates flawlessly. I didn't think it so I tried the adapter on one more Computer, same concern. Unfortunately, I have to go by means of a 2nd RMA. :( Looked by way of the semi-transparent coating, it seemed like they ought to had a cost-down mainly because the circuitry looked diverse than the previous generation.

Works great- no difficulties with my restricted use of function keys. none I wanted a wired KB and Mouse on the finish of a USB cable extension for the Family Space Computer. I had utilised a competing product with would either miss or endlessly repeat a keystroke. What a PITA. This adapter, even so, has had no difficulties and it's as if the KB and mouse were connected directly to the PS2 conn on the computer.

Doesn't look terrible. When not working with KVM, works perfectly. With my TrippLite KVM, I can often get it to perform for the mouse if I fidget with the cables a lot. Luckily, my ThinkPad port replicator has one particular PSǘ port, so if I don't thoughts fidgeting a lot, I can often get each to function.

Connects a smaller USB keyboard and mouse to a single connector I can walk about with and connect to any server I want to perform on directly, thats actually good thinking of servers in no way have more than one USB port on the front. The device doesn't seem to want any driver itself, just carries the signals for both devices via a single USB port. Not a single one particular as of however. Theres a little green light on USB part of the cord that comes on as soon as its plugged in. That could have some usefulness as a USB port tester, I'll be remembering that in the future.

Functions wonderful for typical usage. Didn't work with my KVM switch...which is why I bought it. I have to manual plug the KB and Mouse in to get it to work instead of just utilizing the switch. It claimed to operate with KVM switches, but my IOGEAR didn't operate with it.

None, at least for my application. Didn't work with any keyboard or personal computer and we tried 9 different combinations. It failed to function in 9 out of 9 applications. We tried to connect to two distinct models of MacBook Pro running OS 10.6 and a Dell desktop operating WinXP Pro SP3 making use of keyboards from Logitech, Gateway and the Dell's personal PSǘ keyboard working with this adapter. It's built in indicator light illuminated and the lights on the keyboards flashed momentarily, but not a single keyboard was recognized by any of these 3 systems, nor was the Logitech PSǘ mouse we tried. We tried it working with cold boots and hot swapping, even downloading enhanced keyboard software program from Logitech and MS Office for Mac hoping some missing driver or configuration would travel along in the process. It was specifically surprising that it doesn't even function with the Dell running XP working with the extremely PSǘ keyboard and mouse that came with the program. I figure that's the lowest widespread denominator for this product. An utter waste of time and income. We wanted to "recycle" a lot more use out of a trusty Dell keyboard with a MacBook method and figured for about บ it would be worth it. It's not even worth sending this junk back immediately after the value of return shipping. We'll just do what we need to have carried out in the initial location - get a new Logitech USB keyboard and mouse combo for ฮ. Unless you already have one particular of these that's confirmed to perform with your particular keyboard and program and want to duplicate the setup, you're taking a massive threat with this item. I bought it mainly because some reviewers pointed out that they had tried other adapters that didn't operate but this 1 had worked for them. I guess PSǘ to USB adapters are a single of those hit-and-miss compatibility items. Caveat emptor!

The plastic packaging was uncomplicated to open. It practically disintegrated in my hands. I went to take away the protective plastic over the USB interface and the metal connector came out of the 4 leads inside the injection molded portion of the adapter.

Keyboard interface worked. Mouse worked poorly.NewEGG web site says Normal 30 Day return policy, but when attempting to acquire an RMA - there is red print that says the producers warranty is expired (I only had this a handful of weeks - I don't get it) I purchased this to allow me to add a non-PS2 based machine to my PS2-based KVM (IOGear 8-port MiniView USB)

Had an additional 1 that worked and nevertheless works perfectly. So bought yet another a single. It worked fine when I got it. Mainly this was to replace one particular of the generic models sold below numerous brand names. This 1 works with my KVM, the generic produce spurious mouse clicks on the other computers connected to the KVM. But only when the generic is not chosen. Weird. But this a single doesn't do that. Yesterday, turn the machine on following not utilizing for a couple of weeks. No keyboard, no mouse. Some occasions the kvm gets confused. So substitute a test keyboard and mouse. But it refused to function with the KVM. Replaced with the generic model and it operates. Found on this one particular the PS2 cables slid in an out about 1ǚ inch. The LED goes off if you pull it out and on if you push it in. Now soon after fiddling with it gently, it no longer functions for any keyboard or mouse. I agree with the assessment of the other reviews. Distinct manufacturer. Poor assembly or good quality manage. Most likely the whole batch is defective or soon will be.

I've had zero problems with two of these more than the course of a couple of years. Carried a single for some time in my laptop bag in case I needed to borrow a keyboard on the road. Got a second one to adapt my PSǘ KVM to a USB only server. Also operating perfectly for a couple of months now. Shipping was far more than the item when I ordered the second 1. Necessary a single swift when I stole the one from my laptop to put on my server. Otherwise would have ordered with other stuff I required to hopefully spread out the shipping. Applied with Mac, Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, and Windoze machines. Worked perfectly with all systems.
