Bus Powered, no DC adapter is necessary. Not compatible with Asus P6T MB and Belkin KVM Omni SE-four port switch. Have not verified with other hardware configurations therefore it gets three eggs. Wasn't worth the time or price to send it back. Someday I will try it with other hardware.

Plugged in and it worked good. Recognized in BIOS (before OS booted), no drivers needed (in Win7). Manage characters didn't operate effectively when mapping CapsLock to Control. For instance, Ctrl+A (actually CapsLock(asControl)+A) would send Ctrl+A only once, and subsequent letter A presses (with CapsLock held down) would send the letter "A" (or "a") not Ctrl+A.I removed the unit and plugged a USB keyboard back into the unit to prove that this was happening.Bottom line is I can't use it with a KVM which is why I purchased it.Note: Following no-typing for a second or so, I could type another Ctrl+A (using CapsLockAsControl). I gave this a 5 star because I don't want to mark this item down due to the fact I'm undertaking one thing that is fairly non-normal, but I wanted to report it in case other users were searching for this function.NOTE: I'm nevertheless searching for a USB-to-PS2 adapter that will perform with a KVM AND support CapsLock as Manage.

Affordable way to satisfy cravings to gamble and make it appear like a 7 year old typed your emails. 50% Failure rate judging by the two that I have bought. I bought one a lot of months ago that is still working, and the a single I received two days ago only lasted for ㅌ minutes. Even the one particular that is still operating has its quirks. I'll occasionally get a random mouse click or incorrect/extra letter when typing. I'm not genuinely sure why I purchased a second 1 following putting up with the 1st, but needless to say I regret it. I also don't feel like paying to send it back to get a replacement, when for an added couple bucks I can attempt a diverse brand. I only gave it the second egg due to the fact of the precious lesson this item taught me.

When it was the far better top quality it was great, I'v employed this product for close to two years. I believe this organization is working with a new manufacture to make these. The molding color for the mouse and keyboard are diverse and the markings are letters rather of icons. If it is not a diverse firm the old organization lowered there standards. I hate when there is a excellent item and the businesses try to make additional profit, I would pay far more for the very first and noticed better a single. Please return to the other high quality and be fair on the price inflation

Takes only one particular USB port Doesn't function nicely with Linux despite advertising that it does (as of now - Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid), it seems to operate fine with Windows. So initially of all seems that the difficulties I'm experiencing are Linux only. The mouse constantly works, it is the keyboard which makes issues. Interestingly, anything functions perfect when I boot, but as soon as I unplug it and plug it back the problems happen. Also going to standby / hibernation does the exact same effect. Most likely Linux is just not supporting the device, and the only cause why it is operating is because it work in BIOS. I'm filling a bug report, so possibly we'll see it working eventually...

Its a excellent item since I have a couple of of them I use at function for a Pc. I have under no circumstances had a issue with this item. And rapid shipping (got it in two days rather of 3) Nicely it says on the package that its for Pc but I have used tons of factors they claim to be for a Computer and nevertheless perform on a Mac. Well this time on this item it was only meant for a Computer. The optical mouse lights up (so I know its operating) but you cant move the mouse about. I plugged it into a Computer and worked fine. Get this item for Computer ONLY!!! It does not function with Mac.

Inexpensive cost and works fantastic. They are not flawless, but they work well. None. I have bought 15 of these over the past 1-two years for personal and expert use and they operate good. I have used them on Belkin two-port KVM switches and they function fine. I have utilized them on my 8-port Compaq KVM switches at operate and they function fine. All of the new Dell desktops and servers come without having PS2 ports, so this is a nice effortless fix. I am positive I will have to ultimately shell out the income for a new KVM switch, but this will get me through the next year or two. I am shopping for 10 far more.

Works like it need to. Green power light lets you know that it is recognized. Very good cost and quite straightforward to install. No taking the case apart to install an ad-in card.Good shipping as usuall from NewEgg. None so far other than I ought to have purchased two! I am running it with a rack mount Compaq KVM. Works great. I was a small worried mainly because I read other evaluations from people today that are getting troubles with some KVMs. No difficulty at all with the 1 I haven (Compaq Server Console 8 Port KVM).I was going to acquire 2 but decided I would just get 1 and test it to make sure it worked. Going to order one more one in a couple days.

*Does work in BIOS mode*will let you get your foot in the door *Does not work with KVM switch (IOGear GCS612A - PSǘ model)*This is a straight cable adapter with no internal buffer. This makes it prone to dropped characters. At some point a timing crash will trigger the adapter to fail outright. --So far, Windows has dealt with this extremely nicely by resetting the port automatically, resulting in only a couple of second delay, then regular operation resumes. --Linux needed an unplug-replug to reset. Annoying but tolerable for my use.--When it fails in a BIOS mode (e.g. PBE or Secure Mode), there's no hotplug manager so your only recourse is to reboot. Not a specialist product. It has the same pitfalls as some other similar goods in this cost range (based on critiques). It is beneficial if you will need to temporarily access a USB only pc on the inexpensive and you only have PSǘ equipment. It would be extremely frustrating to use as a permanent install. You should form slowly and watch the screen meticulously as you're typing so you can deal with the dropped characters and pauses, so it has to potential to be a productivity killer. If you are searching for a low cost permanent resolution, you're greater off shelling the couple of added bucks for a USB KB and Mouse. If you're trying to preserve the use of a a lot more high-priced KB, seek a superior adapter.---I do intend to keep this product obtainable to me for the uncommon times I could need to have to use it. More than all though, I can't advise it to other people for typical use.

Low cost.Efficient. Stopped recognizing my mouse when, but I don't know that it was the adapter. I purchased this immediately after discovering, much to my chagrin, that my new motherboard didn't have a psǘ mouse port. I use an ancient (circa 1996) trackball that didn't have a usb adapter.

None, zero, nada Mouse was extremely flaky to the point exactly where it could not be utilised as it would drop files in random folders. Didn't try the keyboard immediately after the poor mouse expertise. Newegg typically handles high quality items. I don't see how this ridiculously poor good quality item wound up in the Newegg catalog!! Completely worthless!!!!

Lets me use my preferred mouse, which has a PSǘ connector, on a motherboard with no mouse port. (I guess you're supposed to use a USB mouse.) Low price. If your mouse is a little flaky, this adapter may make it worse. My mouse had been a bit flaky for about a year, as often it would jump the pointer to another part of the screen without moving the mouse. This didn't bother me a lot. But when I applied that mouse with this USB to PSǘ adapter, instead of jumping it would cause Windows to freeze up.So I switched to a different mouse (same model) and it worked wonderful from then on.

Gets the job gone. Converts PSǘ to USB. Small, sleek and stylish (-ish?) style. No parts to break, no thick cables to tear out of the casing. Nicely created (aesthetically). Flexible shielded wires. Random mouse clicks as you move the mouse around the screen... I typically end up with random middle-clicks (performing "auto scroll" in Firefox) even although my mouse doesn't even have a middle button, for example. The onboard keyboard controller only emulates one keypress at a time - so if you're playing a game, you can't go forward and strafe left (W+A) at the similar time - it'll strafe left (A), but when you release it (and are still holding W), you just stop since the W was released when A was pressed. You have to release and press the key once again. Numerous PSǘ-USB adapters seem to have each of these issues (with diverse computers and diverse KB/mouse combos), and from the critiques it seemed like that wasn't a dilemma. But no, it's specifically the similar with this adapter as nicely. I would have RMA'd it, but it's not worth the postage, plus, as I stated, it "gets the job performed". I could use an adapter none the less. I use it with a Cybex SwitchView automatic four-port KVM switch, and use the USB/PS2 adapter to connect my laptop to it.

This worked as advertised on my four-port SwitchView KVM. On the ASUS M3A78-EM motherboard I was working with they eliminated a PS2 mouse port and even when I utilised a PS2-USB adapter it did not work. I was pleasantly surprised when this answer worked perfectly right out of the box. None

Worked appropriate out of the package. Nothing to install. Just plug it in and go. The cabling appears to be shielded, which further strengthens the cable's durability, I feel. None. I was a small concerned that the packaging did not indicate compatibility with Vista systems. Nonetheless, my adapter appears to work perfectly on my Vista Home Premium computer. I was afraid that it could not work for pre-OS operations, such as entering the BIOS, etc., but it worked perfectly the quite first time I attempted. Thanks for carrying this item, Newegg. This adapter enabled me to use some brand new legacy keyboards I bought, which were only readily available with PSǘ connectors.

Depending on your definition of "works", I guess it works. As lengthy as you don't leave it plugged in for a lengthy time or boot up the pc with it plugged, I guess you could say it works fine. I've been having crashes and freezes and bootup errors for the final six months. Mainly because I have some pretty heavy-duty music computer software running, I just assumed that all the complex programs were causing the problems. Nope, just this small piece of junk. Seriously, just purchase a new mouse. Not worth the ŭ I paid for it.
