Question for builders of this board
Comment:
I have seen six reviews here and it shows that there have not been any unusual build problems, but I have no power up and am looking at power supply woes or some wrong plugging. The question is: which way does the locking plug face? Toward the edge or toward the cpu? Warning to others: the board represented in the manual is different than this Biostar board. The position of the power plug is different and so I'm making this question. I may try to contact Biostar as well. Ratings on this I just filled in 3's to complete the form.

Well, the first board I got as part of a barebones kit was DOA- no video, no memory detection, etc. Having worked for Dell, I understand that happens though, and am not including that in the ratings of the product. Also, I was very pleased at how easy it was to return the defective board to TigerDirect for a replacement, and how quickly they sent the replacement unit. Once the new unit was installed and the appropriate connections made, it booted right up the first time with absolutely no problems. It does not boot quickly. Have not explored the boards features other than to set a few CMOS settings, so no opinion there. The settings that I wanted to change (drives, boot order, etc.) were easy enough to find and change. One problem I have is that the DIMMs on this board are a bit too close to the CPU socket. I almost couldn't install the CPU fan, because the heatsink, when properly installed, is just millimeters from the nearest memory module. All in all a good board for home use.

I honestly have no complaints for this motherboard, the small size makes it nice for a smaller case, however i bought this in a barebones kit and it does what I want it to do. The NVidia Geforce 6150SE on-board video card makes the games I am playing look nice and I honestly feel this is a good deal for anyone looking for a starter Mobo.

Used for my first barebones build. A good basic MOBO with a pretty good layout and moderate size. Only complaint is the CPU fan interferes with the first memory slot. But, so far, so good.

Got this to upgrade my wife's machine that she uses for digital photography. Had everything that she needed on board (except disk drive, etc :-). Only problem was getting the mobo drivers installed on XP Home. System just bluescreened until I ran the Windows install CD system repair, then installed drivers and reinstalled Windows updates. Now it's running fine and she's very happy!

Hard to go wrong at this price. My board is working flawlessly. I rated the features as average, because there are only 2 Sata ports and no firewire. 1 IDE and 1 Sata cable were included.
