This is my second one particular and it functions like a charm. I own various corporations and applied them all but for the price tag and what this does, there is nothing out there that matches it. If you need to have a very good b & w printer that prints fast and doesn't expense you an arm and leg for ink then this is it. The wireless is also a actual plus and it took 5-10 minutes to hook it up. Not as good hunting as some of the other brands and the plastic appears not as robust. I am going to get a 3rd a single.

Functions fine. Prints fast. Have not tested other capabilities. 250 page teaser toner. The toner had to be replaced inside the 1st hour of use soon after printing 250 pages. Lukily I purchased the Newegg combo # 246292 - which includes the two,700 page TN360 toner. We'll see if it lives up to its specs.

Excellent Printer for the price. Wireless is a bonus, but I have mine hard wired. The toner is low-cost. That's why I got it. I don't want to spend for an ๠ toner cartridge when I only bought the printer for 贄 and it came with a toner. Windows 7 picks this printer up quite very easily. Also, now I don't have to make sure my print server is on ahead of I print simply because it's a network printer. **When I top rated feed the scanner, the scan comes out crooked. **You want the computer software installed on your computer to get the scanner to perform appropriately, I didn't want to do this so I set it up to scan to FTP on my FTP server. **Windows XP still wants the application and drivers installed for it to perform properly. I'm so use to just getting issues function in Windows 7.**Some individuals are reporting that it loses it's settings when the power is absolutely disconnected. The power disconnected on mine, I nevertheless had my settings. Maybe it's just me.**I didn't need to have the fax. Who nonetheless faxes today. **My garage is complete of packaging that I need to throw away from all the stuff I've been ordering off Newegg. For these low-cost printers, generally verify the value of toner ahead of buying. Brother was the only 1 that keeps their toner cartridges low in cost and the 3rd party ones like Rosewill are even more affordable.

Fantastic cost. Copies nicely. USB printing is excellent. Unless you are an specialist in networking you will not get this to work wireless. I am now in my 4th hour of attempting every thing to get this up and printing with out good results. I don't know what to do next. I bought this because of the wifi feature. I even have it hard wired into my router and it won't perform. If I knew that I would not have purchased this one. I could have saved a lot of grief and dollars going another route.

Doesn't matter. I've had this printer since Feb. and for the first time I turned off the energy mainly because I was going away for a when. Properly when you turn the energy off this printer loses all its settings. Date / time / wireless networking settings. I had to set this up from scratch and then add the printer back to my list of printers on my computer soon after I powered back up. This is a giant pain and is fully unnecessary. Do not acquire this printer unless you want to have to set it up right after just about every energy outage. Garbage, they need to release goods with problems like these. Take down my previously positive review.

WIFI WPA2-AES config via panel in minutes, no application install crucial.Windows7rtm located the printer and installed a driver automatically (driver even shows a image of the unit).Vista software program functions on Windows7 for push-button scanning.Quick to configure XP (have to manually configure printer port or set up device utilizing software program).Computer software registers with printer, and target computer systems can be chosen from printer when scanning -- Great.Scans to file/OCR/email/FTP with each choice customizable on every target laptop.Firmware update was a snap employing app.Brother has a schedule to release Windows7 drivers in Q4, but Vista drivers function now. Brother's registration web internet site does not list newegg as a source, but they list dwelling depot. What? firmware update necessary attachment through usb, could not be completed more than wifi (did not test with ethernet).am not working with fax functionality at all.

Effortless set up with disk. I now and have heard and read wireless printing nightmares with MACs. This worked straight away. I have not seen so far obtrusive software program as with Hq models. none so far I had to disable wireless security to set up. I use wpa2 with linksxs wrt 54g after I did that I was capable to locate the MAC for the printer to add to MAC filter list. I feel you can also scroll thru menu on the printer to locate the mac address, right after that I reestablished the safety on the router.

Not 1 dilemma setting up under XP Pro 64 bit drivers with a USB port - can't remember an less complicated install, I've owned four other all in 1 printers, at least. Does what it claims (I concur with the earlier reviews - reason I bought this printer) not one problem, much more rapidly than my lately dead all in 1 HP (ink jet) - actually like the notion of a open supply software package. HP quit supporting my 7110 for XP Pro, 3 time quicker on all functions than my prior all in one. I'm impressed. Haven' t observed 1 nevertheless. - except to me is an particularly trivial one particular that that might exclude this unit to quite handful of individuals - see other thoughts Software , need to set up copy function in computer software menu (once) to recognize legal paper Ƙ.five" x 14") for copy by means of automatic document feeder. flat bed scanner is will only manage 8.5" x 11", copy function from printer keypad/automatic document feeder does not automatic detect legal paper copy/scan - maybe 1 purpose for speed boost. If you have to scan/copy 8.five x 14 "documents" that can't go by means of a auto feed buy an stand alone scanner for that function or take those jobs to Kinkos - I rather have the space savings than a wider printer for scanning legal paper on flat bed- I have no need to have for it.

Wireless. Rapid printing. Offered ethernet or USB connections. Operates with Windows 7. Wakes up from sleep mode quickly. Network settings can use DHCP or you can set your own permanent IP address. Even even though I stated it performs with Win7, there is some component that does not look totally compatible... possibly the scanning component. Whatever it is, it hasn't impacted my daily use. Yet another "con" is it is only black & white. I purchased this as a replacement for my HP all-in-a single printer. I think the Brothers give a greater worth for toner, which regularly is the most costly portion of printer ownership.

I have owned Brother MFC's for a long time. I have three right now and have owned two others in the previous. I now have a single at a single retailer, one at another retailer and one particular at household. Minimal difficulties, decently effortless to setup and gets the job accomplished. I just wish all the Drums and Toner cartridges for my three MFC's had been the very same....but all three are distinct. I go with brother since I often have. I've believed about going HP...but I can in no way answer my query of, why need to I?

This is why I Really like my new printer:Even although it has to warm up each and every time I print, it's Nevertheless faster than my old inkjet printer. It fees 2 cents per web page to print (versus five cents for my inkjet). When it prints, it's not too loud for a laser printer (all laser printers carry some noise level). The printer we use at work would deafen you if it have been in a smaller space such as my home office. Sound smart, this printer seems pretty properly-balanced to me. The manual tray tends to make it a snap to print a fast address label (for REBATES, lol). The scanner is AMAZINGLY quickly (at least compared to what I am applied to). It's fully silent once it goes in to it's sleep mode (my old inkjet generally had some sort of whining noise unless I unplugged it from the wall). It is accurate that the common settings (i.e., time and date) do reset each time you turn off the printer. This ought to only matter if you use the fax often. I don't assume that this really should deter you from purchasing this amazingly rated printer! When the printer is on and in "sleep", it is totally silent and draws 9W of power, so it if it is an situation for you, just leave it on! Now all I need is a free of charge telephone line to test the fax. Entirely worth the price I paid! I don't consider I'll ever go back to the "other" brand! ;)

This printer sports a wealth of functions that would have been unheard of at this price tag just a couple of years ago. The quality of the higher resolution laser printer is superb, and the PostScript assistance is a terrific bonus. The WiFi function also performs flawlessly. IPP printing does not assistance password safety. I installed the printer via WiFi using WPA2 encryption. I have Windows 7 x64 and had no challenges putting in the printer driver. Windows automatically located the driver and installed it. As for the scanner and fax driver, I downloaded the Vista x64 drivers from the Brother internet site and installed it. Operates perfectly.

-Effortless to setup physically-Easy to install MFC-Pro suite (Yes, even in Windows 7!)-Uncomplicated to setup wirelessly-Decent printing speed-Excellent print quailty- -Energy hungry (dimmed the lights in my property workplace)-not as quiet as comparable model (but by no indicates excessive) I read a lot of the feed back before acquiring this printer, especially the nagative stuff (which there isn't a complete lot of).I installed this printer, from cutting open the box to pulling a document off the printer, in about fifteen minutes. The printer is connected to my house wirless network, with WPA encryption. I have all Windows 7 Pc's, and was capable to install the Pro Suite by making use of the repair install selection at the bottom of the set up menu. This is my initially non-HP printer, and I have been a Brother-hater for a extended time (many lengthy stories). But they just could have converted me with this printer. I would very advocate this printer to any person.

* Significantly more quickly than my inkjet* Clean clear print even at smaller fonts* Toner saver mode and nevertheless clean prints* Speed dial* Quickly scans* Large paper tray* Rapidly copies of multi sheet documents* Reputable* Inexpensive to operate* Wireless effortless to set up / reputable* Wired networking * Envelopes print ok, but leave ghost pictures.* Computer software provides error when scanning to a file on XP Pro, but still scans after clearing the error.* Tweaking required to get fast scan to file times, but once carried out scans seriously quick. (Faster wired than wireless of course.)* Does dim the lights, but no adverse affects. If you can, use a heavy duty circuit. I did some math and discovered that a black and white laser is the most economical way to print. Color lasers appear to me to expense as much to operate as color inkjets, so I hold an inkjet for my couple of color jobs. Most printing is just fine in black and just copies of tax documents likely has saved me the expense of a couple of ink cartridges. Don't get confused, the DRUM unit lasts via many TONER cartridges. If you don't know this you may consider it costs additional to operate than it truly does. When you do purchase the TONER get the high yield.

* Very good high quality printing * Horrible Wifi setup on Mac.* Can't scan easily on Win7.* Modest display (why do inkjets get complete color 5" displays and lasers only get the dotmatrix display?)* Slightly loud. I've been performing IT for over 15 years and I'm nonetheless amazed how clumsy printing and scanning is.I bought it for residence to print/scan on each Mac and Computer without the network cable. Following two nights of wireless troubleshooting I nevertheless can't print on Mac and can't scan on Computer. I can print on Computer, sometimes.Plugging it into wired LAN solved printing troubles on Mac but now the Computer remembers the wired connection and gets confused even after I've repeatedly deleted the old printer. This is 2011. How hard ought to this be? Mind boggling. And of course there is all kinds of junk monitors and background applications being installed with buttons to "authorized ink dealers".I adore my gadgets but this is the worse time I've had in years. I blame Brother, Apple and Microsoft. Just make it function...
