Comment:
High CFM, low noise, and pretty low-cost. Meh. Great for all configurations, and can be ultra quiet if you connect it to a fan controller and place it at about 30-40%.

COOLER MASTER R4-C2R-20AC-GP Case Fan
Cons:LOUD! Holy cow....There's no way these can be the DB rating they have. I put 2 of them into my CM690 II case to replace 2 failed Yate Loon's that are rated at a higher DB. These things sound like rocket ships taking off, I had to take them out just after a couple hours of use. I'd have thought it was defective but both fans I have produce the same level of sound.

Pros:InexpensiveComes with 3 pin-Molex ConnectorMoves a decent amount of air
Comment:
Moves air decently, but SO loud. Maybe my perception of "loud" is warped but I will never get one of these again.edit: I've since plugged the fan in while holding it in my hand and it is whisper quiet. As soon as I mount it to the side panel it sounds like a jet engine. =( This review was modfied by poster @ 01-26-13 02:35 PM

InexpensiveMoves a lot of airQuiet by themselvesFantastic as a rear-exhaust fan -Bought three and have ceased utilizing one particular of them since it started to make an annoying clicking sound-The other two have a fair amount of vibration when cranked up to complete speed, had them both mounted to the major of my HAF 922 at one point and at high speed they had a harmonic issue going which designed a noticeable pulsing hum.-They also throw out a good amount of oil from what I assume is the bearing, the oil ends up coating the blades and the inner ring of the shell, collects a lot of dust since of this-Wouldn't recommended as an intake fan, tends to make more noise when attempting to pull air via the honeycomb on my case's side panel Determine for yourself if the overall performance trade-offs are worth the low cost. I wish CM did a better job of balancing the rotor and sealing up the bearings. Will be purchasing Scythe S-Flexes or Noctuas subsequent time.

-About 69cfm for a measly 19 decibels of noise at about 50% power--Good price tag to overall performance ratio--Uses 3pin connector which is a bonus for me- None. I now personal 4 of these fans in the same process and I must say they are worth just about every penny. at 12v they do produce audible noise but reduce the speed down to about 50% and they still move a lot of air whilst getting very quiet.

These fans rock, as lengthy as you don't restrict intake. this is my third R4, despite the fact that my 1st a single with out LEDs. I strategy on choosing a handful of much more up in the future. As I mentioned ahead of, restrict airflow and you'll her nasty noises from air struggling past whatever is in the way.

On my Prolimatech Megahalem, it operates pretty well. Keeps my Q9550 @ 4050mhz @ 1.2v at an absolute peak of 53c with 1 fan. ambient temps are around 21c Has decent static pressure ƒ.94 mm h2o) for HSF fan use, but could be superior. I really feel like they could make it push a bit more static pressure, as it is designed with HSF use in mind. I cant comment too nicely on noise, as my primary exhaust fan drowns it out for the most element. appears quite quiet, but its not a private concern either way. Fan stat of 90 cfm is @ 2000rpm, so hold that in thoughts. Monitoring your temps is not OCD by any means, you always have to see if the new thermal products make a difference!

Excellent price on the fan, great air flow and keeps the machine cool. Can be a little nosy, compared to low top quality OE fans that normally come with bare bone instances, but not negative. A single of the two fans ordered is defective. It began squealing about ten minutes soon after install. My pc sounds like an air conditioning unit; Newegg is sending a replacement, Great customer service.

I purchased 2 of these to replace two stock case fans in my Coolermaster Centurion 534. They are louder at 100% compared to the stock fans, except these fans essentially move air. My CPU (E8400) temps dropped 9*C and my GPU (EVGA 9800GT) dropped about 4*C but it nevertheless can fry an egg. The style of the fans is great semi-transparent and no dorky lights. Correct Beauty. Out of the two I bought 1 seems to be possessing trouble. If i really should lower the fan speed to anything reduce than one hundred% I end up with a sort of pulsing winding sound. So if i set the fan to 99% it sounds like its dying... Stop with the blue LED fans... get these :-)

These points are quiet and they move a quite fantastic quantity of air. I literally held one particular up to my ear and could just barely hear it at all. It's no big deal, but I would have preferred a four-pin power connector but they do have an included adapter. I have two of these on a cooler master Hyper 212 and it keeps my Phenom II 1090T at 30 c in an antec 902 case.

Quiet and move lots of air. I place 3 of these in my antech 300 case and it's assisting keep points cool. The fan blades are shaped somewhat like a submarine propeller thus the quiet performance with lots of air moving. Greater bearing would be good.

cost, i wasn't willing to invest ฤ on a fan. pushes a lot of air, quiet when not touching the case loud when mounted to the case. would think about other fans ahead of these again. i did a lot of research on these fans before acquiring them. i wanted a thing that pushed far more air than the stock fans on my cm 690 ii advanced but not one thing as loud as my stock hyper 212 + fan at 2000 rpm. alas, i came upon the R4s. they push a lot of air and aren't near as loud as my hyper 212 fan when at 2000 rpm. when not mounted to the case they are quiet...quite quiet. mounted one to my 212 + and it was very quiet, in reality i can't hear it. mounted one to the front of my case vertically to act as intake and IT WAS SO LOUD! from anywhere in my apartment you could hear this fan. moved it to the top rated of my case, horizontally, to act as exhaust and suddenly it was quiet. not as quiet as the one particular attached to my 212, but quieter than exactly where it was as intake. NOTE: both positions had dust filters.

Moves far more air than stock fans (cosmos 1000, 19dba 44cfm)Not that loud when placed properly. 70cfm not 90, and defiantly louder than 19dba, but not to loud. The intake side of the fan, has to have clearance of at least 2 inches, even if their is good airflow from the side (bottom fan in a cosmos 1000 for example), if this is not done than the fan gets a lot louder. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer,We apologize for the inconvenience you have had. As it states in the specs, 90 CFM is the optimum the fan can run. 70 CFM is the stock speed they run at which is 19dba. At 90 CFM the dba rating is 23 dba. You will require a fan controller to get up to 90 CFM. If you would like more data on the fan you can contact us via live chat. If you are having trouble with the fan you can rma it on our rma link beneath.Respectfully,CMUSA – Client Help.External Link(s): Live Chat| RMA|

Very good quailty finish, quiet, low-cost and moves a lot of air. None so far and hopefully they last a excellent quantity of time. Hooked 2 of these to my swiftech two x 120mm Radiator. They are just a small bit louder than the antec tri cools on low setting but the air they move is just amazing for the noise levels/price. I'm not certain if its 90cfm but it confident feels quite close and superior than the tri cool.

Perform fantastic quiet and potent the way you mount them is tricky. The plastic holes dont have threads in them and the screws it comes with are produced to make the threads.. i hate that method mainly because you either have to screw the screws in and take them out and then mount the fans or if you mount the fan with out pre screwing the threads you have to apply alot of pressure and plastic may snap. Dont take my overview the wrong way they are fantastic fans more than all just difficult mounting them the very first time

Went in my box devoid of a hitch. Also utilised for my water cooler's radiator. Quieter than most stock fans at max speed. Keeps board and drive temps about 30 Celsius even underneath a heavy load. Smooth finish for much less dust collection. Nope. Would advocate for any enthusiast.

Moves far more air than my old 120 fan and is not audible from two feet away. None I place this on my CPU cooler and it dropped my processor temps by 5c just by moving additional air than my old fan-60cfm. It's quiet sufficient that I don't hear it in my HAF 932 case and does a fantastic job cooling my CPU.

Moves a ton of air. Have a nice breeze in my area now. LOUD! I would only recommend plugging this into a plug w/ fan speed control. I got two of these, but afterwards realized I only have 1 sysfan 3-pin plug with fan control. Its seriously loud at complete bore...Not certain if I will maintain the second fan (intake on situation side).

Using this fan as an exhaust in the back of my CM690II Advanced case. Its louder than the stock fans but it spins twice as fast at 2000rpm and moves way more air. Was able to price match it down to $5 so is a great deal for a inexpensive, effective fan.

Does the job, and are fairly quiet. Wish they were on sale. Essential a solid 120mm case fan, and these delivered. Bought 6 to go into two cases, and they get the job done. Wish there was a sale, but that would just shave a few bucks off. No massive deal. They're not completely silent, positive, but they are whisper quiet.
