COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Comment:
This case looks awesome! The LEDs are a little dim but I'm finding two more 120mm fans for the side panel soon so that really should fix it! Plenty of room as well though I'm having issues obtaining a heatsink that will work with the quantity of space I'm left with. Case also gets a little warm with the 3 stock fans so I would recommend filling the other two spots. Also has plenty of room for cables! none

Comment:
Firstly, vital specifications that factor into this evaluation.Motherboard: ASUS M4A87TD EVOVideo Cards: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB ƒ x CrossFire Enabled)PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M600Now, onto some pros... Great searching case with a good matte black finish. In mixture with the red LEDs reminds me of Jin-Roh. Manage works like a charm and was really useful since I was moving this beast about for the last four months or so. Makes moving it around significantly simpler, regardless of the weight.A lot of space for extra hard drives and optical drives... SPACE! Yes, there was a lot of it for the tough drives and optical drives, not so considerably for the wires. You'll have to finagle some issues here and there to make this function. If you're thinking about setting up two video cards with CrossFire, you might want to believe again. Or at least make sure there's enough space. The combination above just doesn't work properly. I have 1 SATA port fully blocked by the bottom most video card, and a different that is mostly obscured and I had to weave the SATA cord between the aforementioned video card.Oh, the bottom video card is much less than a centimeter away from the power supply, which keeps the fan from truly getting effective. Moreover, this already modest space is becoming occluded by the wires connected to the bottom of the motherboard. The set-up was completed right now and so far no heating issues. Just be warned that this mixture might not function extremely efficiently. There had been some excellent style concepts for this case, but the primary issue boils down to the lack of space. For the price, I suppose a little hassle isn't too poor, but I don't want to have to be concerned about that bottom most video card not putting it's fan too use efficiently. five stars for overall value, minus 1 star for lack of space for wiring, minus 1 stars for poor style in mixture with CrossFire video cards for a final total of three stars. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer - We apologize for any inconvenience. The case was created for a moderate technique for simple mobility. For high finish hardware, we recommend the consumer look at the Storm Sniper. In regards to the part of the description where it states the video card being near the energy supply, please make sure the energy supply's fan is facing down and not up. This will stop the power supply from taking intake away from the video card. If you have any other questions relating to this item, please let us know via the Live chat link below. COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Cons:Case fans are all molex. PSU fan filter is on inside of case.

Pros:Great value when on sale. Solid and heavy. Attractive and unique, it's an eye catcher. Superb cooling (see remarks). Love the side panel design.
Comment:
This case has been very well covered in reviews and I'd like to comment on some of the things that I've read. I think the reviewer who had an an issue with the hard drive mounts might have a faulty cage. My HDs snap in snug and secure with no movement or vibration at all. It's true that the little pins do fall out of the rails (when not installed) but I fail to see how that effects the performance. It's also been suggested that the cooling could be improved upon by adding fans to the side panel. I suppose if you're cooling a pair of 270s the additional fans could help but IMHO the air intake through the those side vents is a huge reason why so many reviewers are raving about the cooling in this case. The side panels are designed in a way that maximizes cooling on the window side and cable management on the motherboard side. I'm not a fanboy when it come brand names because virtually all companies have varying degrees of quality in their products. Having said that, I have yet to come across a CM product that hasn't impressed me.

COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Comment:
Fantastic LookQuietTool much less Style (for the HDD and Disc Drives)Sturdy Cramped (very challenging to manage cables neatly)Tool much less Design (for the IO/Expansion cards, its extremely flimsy)Shallow (will not fit most high finish video cards b/c the HDD cage sits side approaches) All in all a very good case but difficult to manage all the cables inside effortlessly and neatly. With the HDD cage becoming turned sideways most of the upper finish graphics cards that most people, with in the demographic this case is created for, wont fit (installed EVGA 550Ti barely). The tool less functions had been some of the better developed that i have observed. Really uncomplicated to use on the HDD, the optical drives you have to forward on the locking bar whilst moving the drive in and out to get it to seat right, but once it is locked in location it will not move. The expansion card style although like most other people is not worth it, expecially with most dual height cards now (they are just too heavy for it to lock in right). Beyond the few short comings extremely excellent case and would recommend to buddies/family/customers searching for a mid level (i.e. up to light gaming) builds.

The case itself is very good... it's a piece of aluminum. Looks good, good powder coat. CM customer service is horrific. Each LED fans failed and following submitting two eRMA's for each fan I decided to email on the status. Exact same day reply and the rep indicated the eRMA was processed and really should be shipped within 24 hours. 2 weeks later (after no package) I decided to chat with Marvin (CM rep.) and he indicated (once again) that the fans need to ship within 24 hours. Then following one more two weeks I emailed Marvin all my correspondence asking him to appear into the matter only to get no reply this time. Count it up... 1st eRMA Decㅇ, 2nd eRMA ~Jan five, 1st email ~Jan 13, 2nd live chat ~Jan 31, final email ~feb 14 and no reply! Why have eRMA if CM doesn't honor the requests? Anyway, I know they're just fans... but still... it's the customer service. Got some 140mm (rival brand) replacement fans off NewEgg with a terrific บ rebate on each and every one.

Comment:
Nice mid tower style, deal with on best is pretty solid. The fans that come with the case don't push/pull too properly. The case gets actually hot, causing me to have to eliminate the side panel whilst playing games. I plan to get some new fans to try and remedy the issue. My CPU/GPU temps get a little greater than I like if I don't eliminate the side panel.

Cons:None!!

Pros:By far the best case I have ever owned! See summary for details.

- Lots of airflow: 3 quiet fans included (top and rear exhaust, and 1 instake). 2 of those fans (rear and front) are blood red LED fans. Giving it a mean look!- Sturdy construction: you can tell this thing is built to last.- Handles!!: WOW!! I cant believe I ever used cases without handles.... Once you go with handles you cant go back. Especialy if you move your PC around a lot you are going to love this feature. Even if you dont, it's nice to have (just incase).- Black black black!: Black on the inside, black on the outside. Very pretty!- Side window: To view all the wonderful components you bought!!Or show it off at LAN parties :D- Amazing look! This review was modfied by poster @ 07-14-11 08:43 AM

A lot more room to put every little thing and additional later. Has 4 usb and one E-SATA plugs on front top panel. This has more room for additional audio and graphic boards. Has handle on leading to move the thing around without having losing the grip which could damage other cases. I enjoy it as it has five fans cooling it Ɠ came with the case and 1 power supply fan and one CPU fan. None.

COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Cons: A little narrow.

Pros: Good looking and well ventilated.
Comment:
A very good looking/well ventilated case. Be warned that it is somewhat narrow, so you have to take into consideration the case's dimensions and the size of the other stuff you are planning to install into it. I had an HD6970 and that thing just couldn't fit inside this case. Had to do some modifications to the case just to let the graphics card sit in. I personally blame the gpu's retail manufacturers for the gigantic size they make those graphics cards casings and not Coolermaster.

Comment:
Got one of these on sale for around $60 and if I had known how lovely a case it was I would have gotten about 5 or more to use on client builds.Air filters on everything, lots of large quiet fans and good airflow, solid construction that won't warp or dent easily at all, very nice design that's mostly tooless, lots of front panel I/O ports positioned at the top for easy access, and a switch to turn off the red LEDs on the fans.An absolute spectacular relative value for price compared to other cases if you get a good sale price on this. Just wish I'd have known how good a case this was so I could have grabbed more when I had the chance. Oh well.

COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window
Comment:
Excellent layout and PCI and drive bay screwless design is properly constructed Front/Top Panel has a control knob that modulates the present to the included led fans. Removable back panel for wire management and cpu backplate removal Developed for cable management throughout (The following is part of the cons) For those skeptical of my wire meltdown, I know the potential causes: Bad psu - the psu was brand new much less than two months ago. It's been utilized consistently, but in a clean environment with no overclocking. PBDAC - I have to vouch for myself, in this case. Rewiring/PBDAC - I could've wired the molex connectors wrong. This shouldn't even have to be done by the consumer in the initial location, but I kept note of where wires went, so I knew where to put them WHEN (not if) they fell out of their molex connectors. The actual components - although not entirely new, I have had this case for about two months. The components shou Connectors to fans are too short if you have shorter cables from your power supply. Even so, with a modular PSU and moderate length cables, this isn't an problem. But, with the capability to route cables behind the motherboard, longer modular cables will be necessary. WIRING, WIRING, WIRING!!!!! Compared to the rest of the develop, the molex connectors for the front bay/fans are terrible. The shroud on the wiring to the top fan melted yesterday. Melting of the ground would be indicative of an overvoltage to a component, however the copper was exposed on both of the wires by the time I had unplugged the PSU Ƒ-2 seconds after pressing the power button) I think the pins of the molex connectors were pushed out by plugging it into the psu. The top parts of the pins (the crimp ends) were touching. This all happened since I decided to reroute some cables behind the case. Just before, I had to use a pliers to physically put the accessory pins back into the included plastic molex housing whilst it was plugged into the psu's molex adapter in order for the pins to make contact and be working. I pushed them in again this time, but I didn't put considerably force on them, which is why the popped out from tension in the short wire to the fan (again, may well have been avoided with a psu with much longer modular cables... perhaps)

Pros: SpaceyCable managementTop steel reinforced handleScrew-less Drive MountingWindowed Side PanelTop exhaust fanBottom mount PSU /w dust filter
Comment:
Very roomy case with a "I mean business" black look, shame the Red LED barely shines through. Top exhaust is great for AMD builds because many coolers hate AMD mounts and I'm stuck with North-South cooler configurations. Parts are dusty inside thanks to the aforementioned hole at the bottom of the front panel, but it does make the front panel easy to pull out. The handle on top is awesome when on the go, it's steel reinforced inside so you can spin in circles and then fling it off into the distant horizon if you want.

I am relatively satified of that case. If you want a case for changing things in your computer every now and then, don't buy this. On the other hand, it offers a relatively good view on the internals if you don't install the 2 optional fans.

Pros: ease of use, black finish on inside, side panel, red LED's. convenient placement of buttons on front panel, and the light control is an added plus. it LOOKS awesome and is probably the best case I've ever had the pleasure of working in. fits my huge xfx 5850 and pretty much anything else I have that I've thrown at it.

A sturdy case at a reasonable price, however the window is really thin and flimsy. There isn't a lot of room for clean cable management I'd highly recommend a modular power supply. After years of ugly cases ownership I finally bought one of these from ncix and I am totally satisfied with it. Looks great and probably will last a lifetime. Great airflow, barely feel any heat coming out from the back and dropped my system temp about 5 degrees. The dark panel makes my orangeish cold cathodes look like its bleeding inside, just disappointed with the fan leds which barely light anything, buy some cathodes if you want light in there just a warning. The carrying handle, totally awesome and sturdy, cable management good enough for me to hide everything buy one you can't regret it unless the ups guy drops it :D
