CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 (CMPSU-500CX) 500W Power Supply
Comment:
- Quiet- Solid- Fully sleeved, lengthy cables- Plenty of connectors- Reasonably priced quality None yet Purchased this 1 as a replacement for a low cost no-name PSU that blew up though playing a game. What a difference. This 1 is a lot a lot more quiet. I though my CPU fan was loud in my PC, but now I know it was the PSU that was loud. It's seem solidly built, and the cables are lengthy and totally sleeved. Got it for ำ immediately after MIR, which I believe is a excellent deal for a Corsair PSU. |

Comment:
Quiet, has cables that are properly wrapped, screws, and zip ties.Well packed in a nice box. Cost. I got mine on sale, otherwise I would not get. It is a top quality PS but not worth much more than 50 dollars. Works properly and my program is now running a little cooler and more stable. |

CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 (CMPSU-500CX) 500W Power Supply
Comment:
I decided to attempt this PSU since it seems like Corsair's PSUs are extremely rated. It's got some weight to it which usually means a nicely-built PSU. Voltages are really stable and it runs my PC no problem. I like the huge single fan over two smaller fans (like my PSU in my old develop). It's quieter. Runs cool. The air coming out of the back of it isn't even warm. The sleeving looks cool but it basically makes the cables stiff and harder to manipulate. Not a massive deal though. |

CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 (CMPSU-500CX) 500W Power Supply
Cons:
High pitched coil whine even when turned off.
Pros: Affordable, solid, sleeved cables, silent fan. Comment:
Overall okay PSU the thing that bothered me was the coil whine that you can't really do anything about. It was $45 dollars on sale and came with zip ties which was a plus. |

CORSAIR Builder Series CX500 (CMPSU-500CX) 500W Power Supply
Cons:
Non-modular but at this price thats me being picky
Pros: Great build quality, sleeved cables, great price Comment:
I've owned a corsair HX750 and bought this for my gf's computer. Doesn't disappoint and is very solid under moderately heavy overclocking. For this price, probably best in class. |
The CX500 is very aesthetic and looks professionally built. Comes with cable ties and a Corsair sticker for your case. The cable sleeving is well carried out and looks wonderful. The PSU works and powers almost everything nicely. This is exactly where i give the CX500 a major face palm. The initial thing i noticed when powering on the PSU was a slight clicking sound coming from the PSU's fan. Did some analysis and this seems to be a typical issue with the "builder" series. When you energy down your laptop or computer the PSU will give off a high pitched buzzing / whistle sound. The only way to quit this is to turn off the PSU's energy switch and turn it back on and the sound goes away. When the laptop or computer is turned on it does not make this sound. Did some study on this and when once again this is a typical concern with the "builder" series. To leading it all off 1 of the sata connectors had a white powder film all over it. Makes me believe they just rush these down the assembly line. I recently upgraded from a affordable off brand PSU to energy my newer components. Even though the CX500 does its job it is an really noisy / annoying PSU to deal with. I might RMA it but i genuinely hate going threw the procedure. It may just turn into a ฮ dollar (price following rebate) backup.
