Its not the fan. It goes away when the CPU is under load (strange). Will have to return or RMA it. Some configurations will need more power but that's not a product weakness Pros:- Build quality- Packaging- Large number of connectors and long cables- Low noise Comment: I'm impressed with my first Corsair PSU! The build quality, looks and packaging are all very good. Zip ties are included, a small but nice touch.All cables are long and sleeved, and the PSU boasts an incredible number of different connectors.The big fan on the bottom is perfect to extract CPU heat, while keeping the noise level really low.So far it has performed beautifully in my server rig, feeding power to 3 TB worth of HDD space (6 drives).With all the reviews raving about the efficiency and the components quality, this one is definitely a keeper!

I will prefer some "revertable or undo-able" mechanism. Pros:Very silent. Support ATC 1.3 and 2.0. Comment: I bought this power supply to put it in a media center pc. The most important point is the noise (the lack of in this case). At this price, it is a very good power supply for such use.I will buy it again anytime! I am very satisfied with the product.

I will always buy corsair from now on. This PSU is excellent for systems which are running one pci-e video card. If you are planning on doing crossfire or sli then i suggest you get a 550 corsair psu instead. But for my Core2duo e4400 2.0ghz, 3gb ram, 1 HDD, and hd3870 512mb pci-e video card it works great. The brand is very reliable brand.

I would say after 1.5 year mark is when PSUs really come to show its quality. Comment: A few reviews mentioned the high pitch noise problem and I personally went through one with Antec in the past.After that I NEVER buy antec even though I may try them again later though cuz they do make awesome slient cases! I used Seasonic afterwards and I can say with confidence that Seasonic is definitly the best of all PSU makers. I tried coolmaster, enermax, corsair, antec and also other budget brands. Quality and quietness wise seasonic is the best in the business. Since this is Seasonic made, I feel pretty good so far with this. Hopefully, I won't get the high pitch noise thing with it then I will be just as happy as I was with seasonic.But just as a tip, DO NOT BUY VX550 if you care about noise.. I had to rma that one and i read many reviews about it having noise problems. Even the corsair reps recommand 450 over 550 on noise. Pros:- Silent- Good efficency- Not expensive- Cables are sleeved- Great quality Comment: Peoples tend to underestimate the importance of a good power supply. Do not make this mistake! This makes the difference between a stable and an unstable PC. Overclocking is also easier. I highly recommend this product if you do not have an hard core setup like a 8800 ultra + Quad core.

Comment: Great PSU for the money, not my first Corsair unit and def not my last. Only complain is the release clips on the molex plugs are rather flimsy, they work great but a few were broken off in the box.

Comment: Well packaged, solidly built power supply. Cable sleeving helps with cable management and airflow. Only issue is that it would not boot when floppy was attached. Removed the floppy and it works very well.

Pros:Quiet, good array of connectors Comment: Powersupply died after 1 boot... Corsair has a good name so I'm going to consider this a freak occurrance and I will be RMAing to get another Corsair 450VX. Hopefully it will work for a little longer. Apart from the short lifespan, the unit is exceptionally quiet. In fact I re-opened my case to make sure the fan was running. One other item, the long connector cables sound good on paper and they be useful in a full size tower, however, it is really difficult to cram all that cable into a Mini-ATX case.

I paired the 450VX with an e6750, XFX8800GT XT, 2GB ram, and a pair of HD's and it runs great. Extremely quiet. I was a little concerned at first that it would'nt handle what I threw at it, but it passed the test with flying colours. I highly recommend the 450VX for any gamer who wants performance on a budget.

I put this in my HTPC along with a low noise HSF and now the unit has 0 noise more than a foot or so in my living room. (Intel Celeron 2.6, 1 GB DDR 400, 1 DVD-ROM, 2 HDD, wireless) It's heavy which is a good indicator of the parts inside. After several days of folding for team 32, the exhaust air is still cooler than the unit prior. I feel that this is more proof of the high efficiency.

Pros:Connectors for everything (24pin MBs included).Elegant, clean looking and black everything (screws/grill). Comment: The Presentation of this package got me. From the moment you open the box, it just feels right. First thing you see is the whith mesh, draw string bag with the Power Suppy (wrapped in bubble wrap) inside it. The cables neatly folded.Opening it presents a rugged looking flat black Power Supply with everything in Black (grill, etc). Even the screws for the case are black. It also has that huge fan which is great too. And it has connectors for everything. Nice when you are building a full case.Not sure if other PS companies are this good. But I was impressed by this one.

It says to separate 4-pin from a 8-pin; but actually there is a stand alone 4-pin that should be used. 8-pin can't be separated. Pros:High quality PSU overall. Fan is really quiet (I though that the fan was noisy, but after great help from NCIX I figured it was a fan on my old video card making noise :). Read the reviews online, it has great ones. High efficiency, more than enough power for majority of users. Comment: If you want a high quality, high efficiency, quiet psu, consider this one. I would recommend it to anyone not running SLI system.
