When given a lot of volts, its alright. It was a extremely good price at time of buy three+ months ago. I'm pleased for the people it worked for but that wasn't the situation for me. I'm at the moment working with yet another High Voltage Set from a different Manufacturer. The very same overnight cool boot failure that confirmed this stuff is undesirable didn't affect this set. Corsair has superior buyer assistance so that's why I talked about this as a pro. I will RMA to them and wish they'd send me 1.5v stuff even if it is less expensive to replace this greater price RAM (Keep the transform). If they don't and I get this stuff back, I'll sell it LOL! RAM likes to be more than volt-ed to remain stable. The user profile in the BIOS (Gigabyte UD3R "F6") configured the RAM as it was supposed to. Soon after 3 Weeks the minor complications began but I didn't mind slowing down the speed and adjusting the settings higher/slower. It crashed and corrupted files as I was backing them up. One of the sticks appears to be dead and operating 2 only worked at slower speeds, I'm thinking they may possibly be damaged as effectively. No more High Voltage DDR3 RAM for me. In the method of RMAing and hope trying to get Corsair to Downgrade at my expense. Intel recommends not making use of higher than 1.65v since it may well harm the IMC, keyword is may possibly. I don't like the further heat anyway. Will adhere to up following RMA. Manufacturer Response:Based on what you have posted, it sounds as if your motherboard may possibly be the culprit. Our memory is assured to hit the rated frequency and timings at 1.65v. Please contact Technical Support again and also your MOBO manfufacturer if the RMA does not resolve this.External Link(s): Corsair Make contact with Page|

Excellent speeds and overclock capabilitySolid heatsinkCost None that I can locate.. The only problem I had with this obtain was newegg itself. It took more than 2 weeks to receive this item which has often been a problem for me with this website. I tend to go elsewhere because of this purpose lately. Unless you upgrade shipping to UPS the newegg "dhl to USPS to dhl" shipping is completely horrible. 2 weeks for a package that was 3 states away is ridiculous.

nicely packaged. will not run at rated speed in Asus p6x58d-e with 2 sets for 12 gig. Commonly finds only 8 gig at 1066. decreased to 3x3 and foun d only 4 gig ! Sticks passed memtest. Let's face it the x58 IMC chipset is not Intel's finest hour - so it could be the chipset which is why I gave this ram 3 eggs rather then 1. I also come across several psts that 6 sticks will not perform with this chipset-particularly at 1600. Nice job Intel.

Inexpensive Ɩ GB for ๊), no concerns with this set or in past with other RAM from Corsair None that I can think of I grabbed 6 GB Ɠ x 2GB) off Newegg.com mainly because the price had dropped down to about ๖, then one more five dollars, and there was a ten% off RAM deal. Overall, I paid ๊ bucks for 6 gigs so I was fairly content. When I purchased the original 6 gigs for my machine, I paid 贶. But, this ram is definitely worth the income. Now running 12 gigs in an EVGA X58 Mobo with Win 7 64-bit Pro and it's a beautiful point. I didn't actually will need the ram, but it's nice to have. 6 sticks total, not one particular with a issue so far, so that's a good victory in itself. I would suggest this RAM to buddies.

Thumbs up to Corsair RMA department! I have an intermittent problem with my sticks (now 56 days old), where one particular stick occasionally fails through boot. Corsair has agreed to RMA. The sticks would pass a Memtest, when the work. But occasionally I would have to boot much more than when to get them operating. Other occasions, they worked flawlessly. It was very tricky to troubleshoot memory that works 90% of the time. Was a great price from Newegg, but I'm outside their 30 day return policy. Corsair RMA department is good.

DDR3 Appears to be obtaining more pricey, so I went with these instead of the DOMINATORs. They run just as fine, had difficulties taking them to spec @ 1600 9-9-9-24. Had to manually set it in bios, as it initially posted @ 1066, but thats standard for Core i7. None A lot smaller than other ram with large heat spreaders. It's a pro to me but wont matter to most.

Functions. None. I put a set of these into an i7 920 program OC'd to about 3.5GHz. The RAM at that speed runs in excess of 1800, and nonetheless manages to be stable. I'm new to i7s and their onboard memory controllers, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but it seems to be operating really nicely. No problems so far.
