Works quickly, WDC WD10 hdd inside, no noise (unless you put it proper up to your ear) Only dilemma i have with it is the light seems a bit massive and bright not really an concern though. gets a little warm in an enclosed space behind a T.V. but I'm guessing its not meant to be there anyway

Works fine with USB ESATA does not function. I have attempted this with 2 various PCs and used the included pass-thru bracket along with plugging it into a controller card. No SATA here Junk. Very dissapointing. Drive is genuinely slow Manufacturer Response:Dear Tim, We are sorry to hear that you had trouble with our eSATA kit. We have had numerous quite a few profitable installs of this kit and uncover eSATA throughput to be superlative; in excess of 60 MB/second sequential read speeds. It is achievable that either your eSATA cable, SATA cable, or mounting bracket had been defective thus resulting in your connectivity issue. We would be pleased to replace the required cables and bracket in order to get your unit back up and running once again. Applied only for backup for 2 years died after two years I suppose if you are willing to acquire this drive each and every 2 years and you have the data on this drive duplicated somewhere else then then this drive is the 1 for you; personally - I anticipate a backup drive to last four-5 years - maybe I am becoming unreasonable.... Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer, We’re sorry to hear that your drive failed soon after 2 Years. There are various aspects on why HDD’s fail, atmosphere, usage, and so on. Even so, on the plus side, the majority of our 1 TB drives have an extra 3-year warranty with their respective manufacturers (Western Digital, Hitachi, Samsung), and you may in reality still be eligible for a replacement hdd. We use reputable tough drives inside our enclosures. Please contact us at www.CavalryStorage.com/contact.aspx, and we can check the manufacturer’s warranty for you. - Client AssistanceExternal Link(s): Cavalry Get in touch with|

Massive capacity for a extremely low price 鲲.95 + totally free shipping), straightforward setup, had each USB and SATA cables (very unusual) and sata port for your PC. I added it to my DirecTV HR22 DVR for added storage. It worked but it wiped out information on programs I had already DVRed, and all prior settings. Makes me wonder if attaching it DISABLES the original challenging drive. Also, the package was missing the resource CD and the instruction booklet. If your DVR is full, you will have to watch everything in it before connecting the external drive, simply because there is no software program to manage the 2 drives and the contents of the original.

Was able to read S.M.A.R.T. data through Esata and monitor drive temperature. with room temp of about 23c the drive stays around 43c, which is reasonable. The drive had roughly an hour of time on it, and no reallocated sectors. The esata cable has the extended connecters, ensuring it will fit most just about every port out there. It is generally 15c warmer than my internal drives, and even though it doesn't get out of spec, it makes me worry its life will be shortened. Specially when left operating with no the A/C on in the residence, since as room temp goes up, the drive temp goes up.The esata cable is flat and stiff like an internal cable. The one I got with my other external is round (although it has short connectors). The drive vibrates audibly due to loose mounting in the case. WDC WD10EACS inside case. Purchased this kit since I needed an Esata bracket mostly, and due to the fact it was less costly than a bare drive at the time.If you have a/c running in you house 24ǝ the drive stays a lot cool sufficient.

I'm working with this with a DirecTV HD DVR (latest model). It was recognized with no a challenge - just plug it in, turn it on, then turn on the DVR. The activity light would work excellent on an airport runway. A bit of black tape on the activity led worked like a charm to make the unit a lot more stealthy and not so bright in a dark room.

Worth the investment. I backed up more than 400GB of information from my desktop just before it crashed. The eSATA is amazing, definately a big distinction from USB. USB is still speedy though. For such a low cost, the build is great quality. None.

Effortless setupComes with esata cable (description calls it a sata cable)Great cost No Rebate Unplug your DVR, hook up and turn on the drive, wait 1 minute and then turn the DVR back on. It will automatically see the new drive and you're all set. Keep in mind to set your channel list and to do list again considering that all your previous settings are overridden. If you switch back to the stock HDD then all your settings are restored too.

Connected to Cablevision's Scientific Atlanta 8300HD and hard drive usage went down from 80% to 11%. Now I can record tons of HD movies & shows! It was not recognized when I powered down the DVR. But I unplugged the ESATA cable when the DVR was on then when I plugged it back the DVR paused, then asked if I wanted to format the challenging drive. That means it recognized it and when I answered yes, the difficult drive % went down. Was going to get the 500GB 1 but its not that considerably cheaper so I went with the 1 TB.Now, even if I swap the DVR in case its faulty, I will nonetheless have my shows. Bright indicator light in front but its in the behind my Television so we can't see it.

Accurate Plug-and-play on my XP. Exceptionally quiet. Runs quickly (using USB) and cold. An on/off switch is a plus. eSATA is terrific but I don't have an extra SATA in my PC to try that out. None so far. The LCD light is beautiful but too bright (brighter than my night light) - I let the frone light face the side wall to form a fairly blue aura.

It arrived promptly. Good Newegg service. But ... packing material was poor - a tiny bit of wadded up paper. Drive could shift in shipping container.PC (Win64) recognized it immediately. esata connection quicker than old drive, and stiff cable was included. 3 backups so far. with Achronis. No documentation. Case appears rather cheap plastic that collects fingerprints; little structural integrity. Would not recommend this drive for even semi-portable use, which is why I bought it. From what others have said, I'm afraid to rely on it for anything but weekly backups, with people today reporting failures even immediately after 5 or 6 months.. ''Receiving a rebate is not about buying a product; it is about satisfying the requirements.''This sentence greets you when you go to their internet web page to 'register' your rebate and get a claim id. They' call for' that you enter the model, serial quantity, and email address so they can spam you. Then they demand you to write the identical info on paper and send it in. Clearly this firm wants to disallow each single rebate claim they can. I wouldn't purchase anything from a corporation that has such incredibly poor consumer service. Ever.I was stupid. Manufacturer Response:The shipping supplies you describe are undoubtedly not the protocol for official Cavalry shipping containers. You may well have accidentally received an open-box item or an erroneous shipment from Newegg. Please get in touch with our consumer support department. We would like the opportunity to uncover the reason behind this unusual occurrence. The company that handles our rebate processing does not intend to disallow anyone’s rebates. In reality, they need the electronic submission and the mail in rebate submission to make sure that the rebate does follow by means of, as the requirements are standard-problem for a rebate of this sort. I have absolutely nothing to complain about Newegg. Came quickly, every little thing accounted for, and simple. Worked excellent for the initial month. No i have to ship it to Calvary Storage. The darned factor stopped working and will only beep and make clicking noises at me, clearly hinting at either a defective drive or loose parts but of course you can not open it up with out voiding the warranty. Almost everything I have on it, gone. The price is way too cheap people today. Believe about it this way, you get what you pay for. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, You might have a defective or damaged tough disk drive. As for opening the enclosure, we do authorize this on a case by case basis. It allows the consumers to maintain their warranty although giving them the opportunity to test the drive and contact a third party data recovery specialist. We would like the chance to work with you on a answer to your data-storage wants. Please contact us at www.CavalryStorage.com/contact.aspx.External Link(s): Cavalry Get in touch with|

All i have to turn it on before I begin my pc or otherwise I have to go thorough control panel and add hardware instruction. I use external sata connectivity. I left this device On several times for couple of days, in no way had heat problem. But I use this this in basement where temperature is often low low 70's. None so far

Includes a SATA-to-eSATA expansion slot bracket if your PC doesn't already have an eSATA port (like mine) and an eSATA cable. Overall solid create excellent. Only gets slightly warm even under sustained use. The light is annoyingly bright, specially when it's flickering during access. Mine came with a WD Caviar Green 8 MB cache drive (WD10EAVS)

Tiny, fast with estata, works great with vista 64bit. Comes already formated with NFTS. Also this package comes with eSata cable and eSata pc adapter. inexpensive LED light is a small bright when all lights are off in a room, but you can put some thing over it. The drive is alot smaller than i thought, just a bit longer than a typical harddrive.I get an average of 40mb transfter rate with the esata, i have gotten when 80mb transfer once but depending on ur file.Stays cool.

1TB storage, eSATA & USB I bought 2 of these and 1 has died soon after 5 months of Extremely light usage. The 2nd drive is employed for nightly backup and is working just fine. The drive is recognized by the OS but it locks up the pc attempting to read the drive. It will alternate between a red light and the blue light. When I get rid of the drive, the personal computer unlocks and is fine. Tried the drive on many unique computers with the identical results. Have requested an RMA from the manufacturer.
