Cooler Master Notebook Cooling Model NotePal U2
Cons:Fans are a bit slow, no additional fans available

Pros:Slim, Light, Cool, Affordable
Comment:
So far it has been a very good cooling pad. Although the fans are a bit slow, the cooling pad lifts my laptop up and hence increases the air flow underneath.

Cons:Not any i can think of

Pros:Very nice and portable, especially with the removable fans. Can be used as a case when carrying laptop.Gives a slant to the laptop making it more comfortable when typing (I like this alot)
Comment:
Very good cooling pad, but I think I should have gotten the 3 fan one instead cause my laptop still gets a bit hot, because the bottom of my laptop the 2 fans have some spots it cannot reach.

Cons:barely enough air flow

Pros:fan positioning mechanismsturdystylish lookingMIR
Comment:
Very good deal with MIR, even though the fan can be positioned underneath laptop heating zones, the air flow coming out from them is unnoticeable. But keep in mind that the laptop do benefit from the elevation of this cooler, it makes the laptops keyboard a little bit more ergonomic and it allow the laptop's vents to breath with the cooler's mesh surface.

Pros:works great

it worked great I use it everyday and keep my laptop much much cooler. however ive only had it for a short time and one of the fans is dead and the other one is about to die. I haven't found anywhere that could replace the fans so i guess im just guna have to use it without the fans.

Keeps laptop cool. Fans are extremely quiet and can be effortlessly detached with fast release. Nylon band to secure your laptop is integrated and your laptop can be stored inside the cooler itself when the fans are removed. None Storage is accomplished by sliding the cooler over your laptop, the rubber pads on the cooler avoid scratching.

Functions wonderful (when it functions). Feels sturdy, has nice rubber grips for the table. 1 of the two 80mm fans started buzzing soon soon after I got it (within 3 weeks). I could tap it and it would go away, but then would start out once more soon. Eventually, I literally cut it off so I could just use the other fan. After one more three weeks it also started buzzing, and I couldn't get it to cease. So, I had to just fully cut out the other fan. :( Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Client - We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Sturdy, solid, and operates. Average operating temperature was 60-65 deg C and my laptop fan was on 90% of the time. Now the common running temperature is 50 deg C and my laptop fan is in no way running. The cooler stand fans are quieter than my laptop fan and the stand itself is extremely stable on the desk. And the laptop doesn't slip when typing which is an unexpected pleasure. I also really like the typing angle made and additional height for the laptop screen. None with the product so far. Even so, I do like to place my feet up with the laptop on my lap ... but the stand doesn't really feel ideal with the weight distributed on two edges so it's not comfortable in my beloved typing position. It will have to be applied on my lap sans the cooler. And a minor observation, moving the laptop with the cooler stand was slightly complicated as I worried about catching and pulling the fan wires. I ended up taping the wires to the side of the stand ... keeps them out of the way. 10 deg C cooler on typical working with the stand. Actually satisfied with my acquire. And I'm also quite pleased when hardware operates out of the box with Ubuntu Linux installation. Size sensible the cooler is just ideal ... I have a 14.1" HP Compaq 6510b and I have about 1ǚ" clearance for each left/right side. That's good as no laptop edge protrudes over the cooler stand edge.I'd buy this project once again in a heartbeat. Incredibly advised.

Sturdy build - thick AluminumFans are very quiet, no louder than my laptop's fansAs pointed out above, built from aluminum for better heat dissipation.Doesn't take up a USB slot (plugs in to USB for energy but has a pass-by way of plug)Cools my laptop somewhat Ɠ-four degrees C at idle) Fans don't push a tremendous quantity of air, but I guess that's a tradeoff as they are more or much less silent and can be moved around.Doesn't fit my laptop correctly. This is the actual huge con that I found (note that the huge con was a fraction of an egg...) - I have a 15.6" Widescreen laptop, 1366x768, and in order for me to ensure that my intake vent is on the cooler where I can place a fan beneath it, I have to hang one side of my laptop off the cooler about an inch. I would certainly say that if you own a 15" or larger laptop and are taking into consideration a U2, step up to the U3. The critique is supposed to be for the item, and it was. Honestly even though if I could overview Newegg and UPS as nicely... Newegg at a four and UPS at 3.The cardboard box that the cooler was shipped in was fairly a lot open: only 1 strip of packing tape had been used, and it was applied off center of the gap among flaps of the box. So I received the package as a far more or much less open box. When paying for shipping, I took the cheapest option which is assured 3 day shipping... It'll be there in three days regardless. I got the package nowadays, 3 days following it shipped... but... it's been in my city since 12ᚮ AM yesterday. Would it have been so tough to place it on the UPS Delivery truck yesterday morning? I understand that I payed for it to be right here in three days but if it's right here in two then it's right here in 2. Conserve the warehouse space and get the package to me the day earlier; especially when it's been in town for more than 24 hours.

This cools my laptop or computer actually properly. It applied to overheat at evening often, which it doesn't do any longer. It also stays quite cool running games at max, which would cause it to shut down in the past. Wonderful product so far, and the fans are absolutely silent. Doesn't appear terribly difficult. I believe the rubber backing and base may possibly come apart more than time. If you're seeking for a excellent laptop cooler, particularly for a smaller sized laptop, I'd get this a single. It's a good price tag, it's totally silent, and it genuinely performs quite properly.

Bought for the duration of Black Friday and loved it for the two months it worked. It *was* whisper quiet and it did decrease my laptop temp by 10 deg C .. than was then, see cons for now. One of the fans began vibrating and shaking and typically made itself so disagreeably loud that I stopped utilizing the stand. Good design, as well negative the product is hampered with such shoddy workmanship. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer - We apologize for any inconvenience. This cooler performs good for my laptop. I personal an HP HDX16 widescreen, and other coolers just wouldn't cut it for me, due to the laptop fans becoming in the back left corner. With this cooler though, the positional fans enable me to place one particular right exactly where the laptop fans are, and an additional in the middle to keep every thing else cool. The fans could be a tiny a lot more effective

Cooler Master Notebook Cooling Model NotePal U2
Cons:-USB passthrough is obtrusive especially if your USB ports are very close together. I would suggest to CM that the fan cable should be routed from the bottom (laptop bottom) of the USB port instead of the side. -No fan speed controller unlike the U3, but that really is not needed anyway since it is not too loud (unless you put your ear directly near the cooler)-It is slightly narrower than my 15.5" Sony VAIO SE, but I would not deduct a star because the cooler is effective.

Pros:-Excellent build quality (aluminum) despite the low price-Cheap with PM (I paid $15 for it)-Fans are easily moved to accommodate different notebook hotspots-Tilted angle allows for more "comfortable" typing ergonomics-Cools effectively with minimal noise despite using 2 80mm fans -Fairly light and portable compared to the U3-Can be used as protection for notebook when not in use
Comment:
This cooler lowered my 15.5" Sony VAIO SE CPU temperature by 5 degrees, from both idle (45C to 40C) and load (60C to 55C). It also reduced the GPU temperature by about 4 degrees. Very effective cooler for a low price, plus the bonus of having an elevated keyboard is nice. It also can be used as notebook protection when the notebook is placed inside for travelling, which is a nice touch by Cooler Master.Overall, this is the cooler to buy if your notebook is getting toasty. It does not cost an arm and leg to buy, and it does more than just cool your notebook.

Excellent style, holes on the platform line up with 120MM fan. With a uncomplicated alteration it performs perfectly and silently. Fans that ship with this unit are junk. Soon after much less than a week the initial fan started whining, and then eventually stopped entirely. Even when they worked they didn't move all that significantly air. I really like this cooler, but largely because of its hackable design. I ordered two 120mm fans, pulled the wires from the fans that came with, and soldered the 120's to the USB cable. The holes in the platform lined up perfectly with the 120mm fan holes, so I attached them into where they would help my notebook the most and viola, no additional heating complications.I gave it 3 out of five due to the fact they have a incredibly beneficial item and it wasn't all that tricky to hack it, My recommendation is that you order this with the 120MM fans and don't even deal with the ones that come with it.Soldering is genuinely effortless, but not fully needed, you can get away with just stripping the wires, twisting them together and taping them tightly if you want. Modular fan placement. Ease of use. Prepared out of the box. No fuss. Seems to be a stable platform for the laptop. Cools nicely. Quiet. Works with my laptop stand. Can't location the fans too low or else it won't sit proper. Because most fans are high up on the laptops, this is a minor gripe. Unless you have some absurdly huge laptop, there's really no use hunting at any other model laptop coolers.

Fits the Asus G51 perfectly. The rubber pads on the bottom of the laptop just come about to be at the same spot where the rubber pads on the cooling pad are.No a lot more slow-downs in the course of lengthy flash movies/gaming sessions. Its a big noticeable difference. While my internal fan nevertheless runs continually, the cooling pad gives that further small bit to stop slowdowns. My laptop has even shut down from overheating, but no a lot more when its sitting on the padYou can put a fan on the left side exactly where most of the heat is and then an additional fan in the middle exactly where the big vents are on the G51Raised angle is excellent for typing and viewing I purchased the cooler on fiveቬቦ and now its 6ǝቦ. Occasionally one fan will buzz Really loudly and then start out to spin extremely, very slowly. Touching the fan to stop its motion and then letting it begin up once again stops the buzzing and returns the speed. I had read a different critique that mentioned the buzzing fans and believed the reviewer ought to have just been unlucky. Funny how issues turned out.For now I just hold a pen cap at my desk and when it begins buzzing I lift my laptop and poke the cap by the hole until it stops the fan. Annoying but livable. If I leave the stand alone its fine but moving the unit around (say from my desk to my bed) often triggers the buzzing

I preserve my laptop on 24ǝ and this has kept it cool. This fits my 15.four" laptop nicely, but any larger and you really should go up a size. Sturdy aluminum frame (which acts as a partial heatsink for the whole laptop) props the laptop up at an angle for greater airflow, and adds a couple of inches to the monitor height. The frame has rubber on the ends so that you're not likely to scratch the table or your laptop. Air holes make it possible for superior air flow. All around, a fantastic design for cooling.Has 2 fans with adjustable positions that don't take up a USB port. Not silent, but pretty quiet and won't bother something or anyone. Lightweight fans but nicely-constructed. The fans are fairly sturdy. I dropped the fans onto a hardwood floor from a distance and they're still okay.Integrated straps and style allow you to place the notebook inside the cooler and port it around with some further protection. Nevertheless, this won't work with neoprene laptop instances which add a bit too considerably dimension. Nowhere to store the extra length of cord (which drag), or anyplace to place the fans when you're not employing them. If you're carrying this about in a backpack you'll want additional protection for the fans. Attempt to hold the fans clean specially of hair, string and so on. I had a buzzing sound and turns out the fan just had some hair stuck in it.

Looks nice, quiet doesn't cool.....AT ALL!!! I read the reviews just before I bought this. And I really should have read the ones with poor feed back due to the fact they were spot on. I took a opportunity as this was one particular where I could position the fans hoping that I could get them in a spot to cool my CPU when below load.My cause for obtaining this was to get my CPU temp beneath 85C when beneath load. My laptop in common doesnt get hot at all (HP dv6-2170us). I had older ones that would scorch your lap. This a single stays extremely cool. Only CPU reaches high temps when under load. Was hoping this would force some cool air into the heat sinks cooling the cpu a bit. I was wrong. This will be going back. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer - The effectiveness of the cooler depends on the the laptop. If the laptop has no intake vents, then the cooler will not be as helpful. *I almost thought my cooling fans werent operating the initially time I plugged it into my netbook, they are that quiet. *They flow adequate air to hold my netbook considerably cooler. *I the wedge style is good being that I can sit crisscross on my bed, prop it up on my lower leg or ankle/feet and it makes for a flat level surface for me to kind on. I wish it had lil rubber pegs you could insert in the holes that cover the surface of this item, not 100% netbook friendly getting that the ten" Eee Pc I have is not wide enough to make use of the rubber friction pads on each and every side towards the leading. If they had little removable rubber pegs to place exactly where you want it would clear up this situation, for now i just put my netbook high adequate on the cooling pad that the battery kinda hooks the prime and doesnt slide about whilst I am using it. No excuse not to have 1 when you can land it on sale with free shipping. I snagged it for ผ.99 free shipping back in November. If you don't have a cooling pad this one particular is effectively created, but I can't say how well it would cool a full size laptop.

Cons: USB plug is a little loose.

Pros:Light, movable fans, you don't loose a USB port.
Comment:
It easily fits my 13 inch laptop. The USB plug that powers the fans isn't as snug as i would like, but i haven't really had any problems. Being able to move the fans around is a huge plus. The platform itself is metal and has nice chunky rubber feet that keep it in place on your surface. All in all, if your looking for a decent cooler for a small laptop, this might be it.

Cons:No speed controlCould have 1 more fan unit

Pros:CheapMoveable fansSturdy metal frame
Comment:
Fan units are moveable so that you could move them around to target your laptop's hot spots. The sturdy metal frame can double as notebook protector while you're on the go.One drawback is that it has no speed control. Also, it would be nice to have one more fan unit. it's also better if it could be longer by an inch and half or so.Even for the shortcomings, it still deserves 5 stars for its simple but brilliant overall design.
