Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:None

Pros:Comfy, durable, packable, overall high quality
Comment:
I bought these headphones about six months ago and they have far exceeded my standards. I travel a lot and these will fold up nicely into themselves, making storage a huge benefit. The sound is pretty good for the price, they are comfy, and not flimsy. Very good buy.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:Mic is a bit flakey, doesnt pick up sound if too far away.

Pros:Comfortable, well fittingSound quality is excellentHigh quality construction
Comment:
The headphones portion of this headset is excellent, delivering good sound quality and blocking out most(not all) environment noise. The fit is comfortable, and comes with spare ear pieces. Construction quality is good, braided cable and solid 3.5mm connectors. The mic is the only problem with this headset. It works, but barely. Windows sound recorder barely picks up any volume, even with the +20db gain. It doesn't pick up any sound if you have the mic positioned more than an inch or so from your mouth. For some (yet to be determined) reason, it works quite well with steam voice chat(the software must calibrate properly) , so I can use it for gaming, but not much else.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:-you WILL need a sound card with this headset, using these with your motherboard on board sound would sound like mud

Pros:-durable and will not break easily-decently priced-comes with leather headphone cups-they sound awesome and the mic is amazing
Comment:
I bought this headset when it went on sale for $39.99 with the Xonar DG for $31.61. The sound is amazing and after hours of reading reviews about various headsets I am extremely happy.I recommend getting this headset with the Xonar DG or another sound card that has a headphone amp.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:Very flat sound.

Pros:The most comfortable thing I've ever had on my head.
Comment:
I have these plugged into an Asus Xonar DX.The good stuff first: - This headset is the most comfy thing I've ever had on my head. - The sound is very clear, but VERY flat (more below)The Bad:- VERY flat sound. No bass, doesn't handle the lows very well at all. I've messed with my sound card config tool to make the lows come in better but the bass effect is still horribly flat.- The Mic is very sensitive. I disagree that this set has a noise cancelling mic ... the set I received doesn't. If your sound card has a mic noise suppression option, then the mic will work good for you. Otherwise you'll be that annoying person in teamspeak where you can hear all the background noise (PC fans, keyboard/mouse clicks)Playing BF3 is disappointing with this headset. Playing Skyrim is fairly decent. Although in the few places where you'd expect a good "rumble" from the low/bass, it continues to fall flat. Despite the fact that this headset is super comfortable, I wouldn't buy it again. Thankfully I only paid $39.99 (regular is 69.99).

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:- Music performance somewhat lacking.

Pros:- Very comfortable.- Good price when on sale.- Gaming performance fairly good.
Comment:
I bought mine on sale for $40 so my evaluation of price/performance is based on that. In brief, I'd describe  the sound quality as good for the price, but not without problems. More detailed observations are below. For gaming I thought this headset performed fairly well. Being an analog headset your experiences will vary depending on your audio source, but I found it acceptable when used with onboard sound or with a Xonar U3 USB audio source. The bass from these is subdued and gaming sounds like explosions or engines are not too overpowering, so you can easily hear other effects like gunshots or voices over the bass. Depending on what kind of gaming experience you want, this might be good or bad. The lack of strong bass and powerful explosions can make it more difficult to simulate a highly chaotic battlefield. For music, the sound quality is mostly average but has a couple of issues. At default settings it sounds lifeless and lacking in bass, but it can be improved by adjusting your equalizer settings. After spending some time playing with the equalizer I was able get fairly "warm" sound mids, however the highs were a bit tinny sounding. I was able to get some bass from it, although for music like rock or metal it was still somewhat lacking. That said, for this price range I'd say it's acceptable. For great sound without any downsides you'd have to spend a lot more.It comes with two sets of ear pads, one made from foam and another made from a pleather-like material. Both are very comfortable, but the foam ones are dust magnets so I tend to use the pleather ones.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:Lacks BassSometimes not "loud enough" (this could be a fault of my integrated sound card, not sure)My Mic stopped working and I do not see any physical damage from the outside

Pros:Nice designGood build quality (except mine has problems...)Comfortable
Comment:
The Corsair HS1A headset is decent, but not worth its price of $69.99. If you can get it on sale or price match it less than $40, then it is decent. Review my Pros and Cons for my specific issues.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Comment:
- Most comfy headset I've ever worn, compared to a lot of others.- The cord is braided, very strong.- Very good mic, no static. Very clear.- Users can select among fabric and pleather ear cushions.- Noise canceling.- Volume/microphone controller on cord. - There is barely any bass at all, if any. It was a enormous step down from my Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset in terms of sound high quality. This is the major cause as to why it is not obtaining a 5-star rating.- Price. If the bass were on par with the Creative headset, this would not be any concern. Corsair did an amazing job on generating the headset ergonomic and formfitting, but I was so quite disappointed by the sound good quality. With 50mm drivers, I figured the sound would be a bit much better or at least much more tolerable than what it is. It's very unfortunate too due to the fact Corsair was so incredibly close to producing an astounding headset at a fair price. If you don't care about bass, then I fully advocate this headset. Otherwise keep searching.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Comment:
*Really comfy. - It tops my Plantronics 367 Gaming Headset. Plus, this version comes with the memory foam AND the p-leather like earcups you can uncover on other headsets.*Long Cord - You could in all probability walk about your room with the headset on (see cons as properly).*The mic is crystal clear on vent/skype/teamspeak (see cons as well).*The click positioning - Clicks in the mic for a particular angle/seems definitely sturdy (can be con for some also)*VERY sturdy construction - Really like how you can move your earcups towards the table when you want to set them down, pile them inwards for traveling, essentially it's handy. *Corsair has a 2-year warranty on all audio merchandise (according to their website they do)*The black finish makes the headset look a small more slick in my opinion, as oppose to its counterpart. ႚmm Drivers/Cirumaural - Like most gaming mainstream headsets, they already involve these, it's practically a necessity for gaming/isolation of noise/etc. *The only possibly that appears to persist to me is that I frequently locate myself reaching and scavenging around for the in-line volume control. It appears like the headset cord from the headset to the in-line volume control is longer than the in-line volume control to input cables. *Another factor is the mic is almost a downgrade from my old Plantronics Gaming headset, the background noise on this mic (or it could just be mine) is very louder as oppose to my old mic but the noise is still tolerable and won't cause much hearing issues.*As you can see in the pictures, the in-line volume control isn't as spiffy as the USB counterpart, which is a semi-let down, but I already knew this before buy. Paired this beast of a headset with an Asus Xonar DG card. Played a lot of games/testing and so on. Basically got this headset to test out the card and plus I necessary an upgrade. Games consist of BFɆ/SC2/Combat Arms/CoD4/PvZ/Aion/TF2, and so on. The headset outperforms itself in the music section as it is fairly an upgrade, for ALL of the genre's, which includes the lows mids and highs. (Don't anticipate too significantly bass although, as these are for GAMING, not for bass-junkies).Did I mention you can sleep with these on? Well if I didn't, you can. They're THAT comfortable. Overall, really pleased with the headset. I would acquire a different just to have a spare and I'll recommend it to friends. Thanks corsair, you did it once more! And thanks for getting awesome newegg!

Cons:I should've watched Linus' review and get the HS1 instead now I gotta wait for a good sound card to maximize this baby's potential...

Pros:Right out the box you can tell it's quality productVery good sound proofing and audio in general even though i'm using an onboard sound card.Sleeved cords are always a win!
Comment:
I would recommend this product to everybody from now onDidn't know Corsair even made audio stuff. Even though I should've researched the difference between HS1 and HS1A before purchasing, I am quite happy with this one. Amazing deal for 40$ now NCIX just needs to put an asus sound card up for 40% too!!

Great value when this is on sale. My old gaming headphone foamies were no use any more and I wanted something more comfortable... and this fit the bill. Nice quality build, good sound and a spare set of ear pads may make me buy another set.

Pros:Affordable, very clear sound, very comfortable, large cups, long cord, volume and mic switch on cable.
Comment:
When I saw this headset on sale I had to buy it, my DJ headphones was getting old and it was about time to get a headset. This was a amazing purchase as many headphones of this kind costs huge amounts of dollars and you don't often get both sound and comfort at a budget, but this headset is the total package.

Comment:
Remarkable fit to the ears. I can't believe it, blocks out virtually anything. Comes with leather or cloth which is a good touch. I play bass guitar and listen at the very same time and the lengthy cord on this makes it so effortless for me to move around. The high quality is awesome. I plugged into the computers mic jack and get a weird background fuzzing. Not noticeable until there is no sound. Have but to use the microphone, will write a follow up evaluation in a few weeks.

Cons:Tends to mess up my hair since I have pretty long hair and it gets squished by the ear piece. The mic volume is low out of the box. (easy fix)

Pros:Comfortable; sound is great; good build quality and much more...
Comment:
Seriously, I'm happy with this purchase, I got it for 45$CAD with shipping and taxes included when it was on sale. Sounds great, build quality is good, not the best, but good nonetheless. Very comfortable. Furthermore, I had the low mic issue out of the box, but I fixed it within seconds. Also, even using it on the on board sound it sounds terrific (at least in experience). Now, I chose the analog version because I have the option if ever I would like buy an after market sound card which I will be doing in the near future. 4/5

Pros:two ear phone covers, braided covering for the wires and also ample wire length, Good construction, and great sound.
Comment:
Bought these on sale 6 days ago and i have to say that i was extremely impressed with the material that was used to cover the cable. The microphone construction and sound quality were also as equally impressive. Mind you i have been using lower quality pc headphone previously. Excellent cable length as well, i bought these to use with a asus xonar dx . The two added ear phone covers where also a very nice touch. Over all i am very impressed with my purchase, expecially considering that i got them on sale for $40.

Corsair HS1A Circumaural Headset
Cons:-sound card dependant-lacking in low end, sharp highs

Pros:-good noise isolation-large and comfortable earcups
Comment:
I bought this as a weekly surprise special and at that price tag it is definitely a decent deal. The headset is very comfortable for prolonged use and it isolates enviroment noise fairly well. The sound quality is very mediocre, which is to be expected at this price level. I have access to the USB version of this headset as well and the sound difference between USB and analog + xonar sound card is minor. However, there is a major difference when using analog + on-board sound so I recommend USB version if you don't have a dedicated sound card. Overall, good budget peripheral when on sale but if you are an audiophile looking for quality sound, look elsewhere.

Cons:Headphones may be heavy for some

Pros:Excellent sound quality, decent mic
Comment:
Bought these on sale for $40 and I could not be happier. The only minor problem I have is that the headset is too heavy. However, it's extremely comfortable and beside the fact that my hair gets squished, it's fantastic. Was planning to price match at $60 and buy it but got it at a surprise sale and if you can get it at 40, definitely go for it!
