Corsair Nova Series CSSD-V64GB2-BRKT 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Comment:
It's Corsair branded. It's an SSD.Considerably, a lot quicker than a 5400 RPM tricky drive. It's not as rapidly as I imagined it to be, but I knew the data speed spec going in. It's nevertheless lots quick for it's new owner. My dear old mother bought a new laptop, and I offered to give it an upgrade. Windows boots significantly faster now(even with all the bloatware-which Mom wanted). She didn't even use 30gb of space in her last laptop, so this will suit her for now, till subsequent upgrade. She practically got sold on an i7 laptop by a 'big named yellow brick and mortar retailer' salesman but it was well out of her spending budget, so I helped her settle for what she could afford, on an AMD dual core laptop that was not as quickly. Nowadays, she happily referred to as me from that very same shop. Just to inform me, that her laptop is now more rapidly than that i7 laptop she initially wanted. Even immediately after upgrading her new laptop with this SSD, the savings was a number of hundred dollars.

A noticeable distinction. If you're the type to wish that 1st player in the game, a SSD is a ought to. Corsair is a wonderful brand. Simple to install. None. Read other thoughts beneath. Windows starts up in ten-20 seconds from power on. PhotoShop loads in 2 seconds. And games load 10-20 seconds faster. Make confident all the cords are tight and it is fastened down tight. Had some difficulties at initial till I produced confident the factor was fastened down actually very good.

Rapid, plenty of space for my boot partition. Bought drive Nov-11. Following two-3 months the drive would post the the bios intermittently. Sometimes the disk would post ... sometimes it wouldn't. I've read evaluations saying the disk is not SATA I compatible, and my MB doesn't have a switch to force SATA II, so it's doable that this is attributed to MB compatibility ... or drive failure. About a month later this degenerated into catastrophic drive failure. Disk would not post. I sent the disk to Corsair who replaced the disk with a referb'd disk. It took two-three weeks to get the disk back, in the course of which time I bought a WD Caviar Black to hold me over. When I got the refurb'd Corsair SSD back every little thing worked excellent, but I am beginning to have issues once more. In any case, I'm running the WD disk as I type this... 1 Identifier that is somewhat fascinating is that occasionally the SSD will post to bios, the technique will boot, windows will load, anything will be fine (sometimes for minutes, at times for hours), and then the complete technique will freeze. I wont get any failure screens, the system will nevertheless take mouse input, but nothing else. I can not drag screens, right click the desktop ... do anything. I left the computer like this overnight as soon as ... it never recovered. Following the system hangs like this, if I do a soft reboot, the SSD never posts to bios. If I shutdown and restart, the drive may well or may not post to bios. << For what it's work.BTW, RMA guys at Corsair were fairly friendly.

Rapidly, Uncomplicated installation, and quite satisfied, got it with a promo! all below 贄. Will be purchasing a different for my Windows 7 OS. I'm appalled at the way Newegg packaged this drive. Just a small envelope, with the SSD in its manufacturing box, it arrived all dented and I was extremely upset with this. Shame on you Newegg. Didn't come with instructions, or a Sata/Power Cable, you would think as a lot as you pay for these they could at least consist of cables. For those curious about a SSD and FSX, I can say as of now the only difference you will see is loading occasions. It's sped everything up, overall performance, smart no Frames raise.

Comment:
These drives in even a modest machine, are in my boss' words "crazy fast". Corsair's internet site claims that all their SSD's are SATA 1 compatible. I have these installed in numerous machines in our office. But when it came time to upgrade the machines with SATA 1 they merely don't show up. I verified the drives are operating on other computers, and as soon as I attempt to use them on SATA 1 they disappear. :( It actually is a shame that these drives won't work for the final couple of computers that we will need upgraded. As I stated previously, in our machines with SATA two these drives do indeed rock. As far as genuine globe improvement in speed, an estimating system we run used to take at least 2 minutes to load on a appropriately functioning defragmented 7200 RPM disk. With these, the same plan on the very same machine loads in much less than 10 seconds.

In a nutshell, it takes longer to click an icon than it does to open an application. Boot time is particularly quick AND it comes with the mounting bracket for a desktop install generating installation simple and saving a handful of bucks. Spoils me to the point where I wish my case fans and optical drive didn't move and make noise either. At ũ.50 a GB a lot will argue that its not worth it, but just keep your OS and applications on it and the speed tends to make it worth every single penny.

Unbelievably rapid!Doesn't break the bank.7.three WEIPhotoshop loads in 5-10 seconds Says that it need to just function with Win 7 install - Not AccurateSpent over 10 hours troubleshooting this drive to get windows to boot onto it.Ended up cloning one more installation of Win 7, repairing the MBR, enabling TRIM, and it functionsBy no indicates easy I wonder if others had equivalent experiences, checked bios settings and had every thing appropriate. Still Windows install couldn't write to the ssd....Reminded me of the good old days when you literally had to have one more personal computer useful to download all of the drivers for any offered install. Windows 7 is soo good compared to past iterations that I am spoiled now.

Comment:
It's working well so far. This is not a con of the drive, but I left my old drive in the Pc as I installed Win 7 and it refused to place the boot sector onto the SSD and put it onto my old drive. I had to eliminate the old drive absolutely and tell windows to install onto the SSD and only then did it put the boot sector onto the SSD, following that I reattached my old drive and everything is operating fine. My only regret is not obtaining a bigger drive. The 64GB is too low for windows 7. Soon after you install win7 you can kiss 20GB bye bye which is 1Ǚ of the drive. I feel that 120GB+ is what you want for windows 7. Had I gotten a 120GB SSD drive I most likely would have ditched my old difficult drive completely and wouldn't even need to have to have it connected any longer.

I don;t see any, crashed so a lot of time I got tired of saving it. Use it to shop massive client files ྾gb+). Nonetheless no noticeable improvement. Can return it only for a different lame drive, so I will eat it for lunch and understand. Send in rebate and wait for a thing stable and priced right to come out. I shave boot time off Window 7 but the boot sector kept taking a dive. Now extented partition for .pdf files. Cant danger it for real use.

This difficult drive is quick! I don't necessarily notice rapidly boot occasions, but applications launch immediately. I used this to replace a RAID that died. I use this for my applications and have all of my data on a RAID 1 of two 500 GB difficult drives. The value is an obvious draw back. Aside from that, there is only a 2 year warranty. I got this on sale for ฮ off so I was willing to accept the shorter warranty period.

I was skeptical about jumping on the SSD train, but I am glad I did. I installed this drive as a secondary drive with just a handful of games on it. So far I am impressed by how speedy the games load. Any level modify, zone adjust, or something requiring drive access is noticeably faster than on the 7200 RPM drive. It's not instantaneous, but nonetheless quite impressive. The subsequent time I do a major hardware change (or just get bored), I will reinstall Windows 7 on the SSD and see how zippy things turn into. Even though SSDs are expensive, this 1 was on sale, so it was a little a lot easier to justify. The price, as expected, is pretty high compared to HDDs. Non-Windows 7 OS users may well run into efficiency concerns. There are no directions included with the drive, but the install should be fairly painless for any individual who knows how to install a challenging drive. If feels good to lastly have a PC that is not wanting for new hardware, at least for the time getting. Prices are dropping on these drives, so maintain your eyes open. Now is rapid becoming a superior time to jump on board. And as generally, Newegg is awesome.

Rapidly None. Cost is acceptable. I just have to say, wow. If you are considering acquiring a solid state drive (SSD) - get it.I understand that many experiences are exclusive to hardware setup, and so on. For me, I have a fast, quad core technique but a cerca 2005 SATA system hard drive that I assume was bottlenecking. I so may possibly represent the highest increases that going to SSD can give you.My program, no joke, is 5 occasions quicker. I know that sounds like hyperbole. When I say five times faster, I mean factors that took me 30 second now take 6. Not kidding here.Hence, why this product this ideal investment for my computer. I'm blown away as to why I didn't do this earlier. If you have a slower CPU, now much RAM, etc. then it could not support very as considerably for you.

This is a fantastic drive. I got this for my boot drive, installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit in under 10 minutes! Loads super rapidly, opens files/programs in no time at all. I got it when it was 贖, so that's not so bad.:D I've attempted a few hdd possibilities for my boot drive. I've applied a modest hdd about 80Gig SATA, and I've attempted creating an 80-100Gig partition on my larger 1.5 TB drive, but there is no comparison. It is not exactly inexpensive, taking into consideration that you could get a lot of other stuff for the exact same income, but once you set it up as a boot drive with some other programs that you continuously use, it makes you happier. It's a great choice for my portion; I wouldn't alter it.

Quick, fast, Quick. I really like it. I own an ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe. The bios do not allow for TRIM. However, Win 7 gets the job completed. The issue is that it started acting up at 30 days of the 60 day warranty period. Preserve obtaining blue screens for some reason. sent it back to newegg and they are sending an additional in a few days. I'm debating receiving the extended warranty. 贕 is a lot of funds for it to go out on me.
