Excelent product
Comment:
Worked good once I got the mother board to see it. This was not the cards fault, my case had a slight tab along with my motherboard that cause it to unseat just slightly, other than that it works great and has all the features I wanted at a great low price.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:for the ignorant this package could have given some more setup details.

Pros:does exactly as it describes. connects to wireless n router at 300Mbs.
Comment:
this worked as soon as it was plugged in. but to have it work at its max speeds one must configure wpa security protocol or it will be stuck at wireless g speeds. i think this is the biggest issue consumers have and do not know to fix it. it does still work better at line of site as does any adapter/router. it will go from very good to excellent with full bars when router has no floor in the way. i found a way to suspend my router from top of stairs without it be in the way or an eyesore.

Cons:cant figure out why so many complaints. The one i got works.

Pros:N card, worksGood speeds, but only used for internet
Comment:
Purchased for a friend's build. Used only for internet. I could have got a Wireless G, but what the hell. Had an N Extreme Dlink and it was on sale. Works well, no complaints.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:everything, it doesn't even work

Pros:absolutely nothing at all
Comment:
DO NOT BUY THIS!!! I have tried it on vista 32 bit, windows 7 64bit, XP 32bit, and XP 64 bit, not to mention on 2 different PCs. Same effect every time install the drivers and try to connect to the internet and boom, graphical error, its like static with diagonal lines running through it. I have tried about 5 different drivers all with the same effect on each OS. Do yourself a favour and don't buy this the 3 antennas may look pretty but they are useless if the card itself doesn't work.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:3 antennas are a little bit of a challenge to orient in a rig with any decent number of cards

Pros:Exceptionally easy to installWorks with Vista 32 bit
Comment:
This card was exceptionally easy to install. Put the card in, attached the antennas, installed software when booted and put in my wireless network and code. It was done in under 5 minutes. I'm running vista 32 bit and no issues so far. My speeds are great compared to the old linksys card. I'm a happy camper ;). This review was modfied by poster @ 07-23-09 07:08 PM

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:Does not work reliably under Vista 64bit

Pros:Works with XP
Comment:
This card caused vista 64-bit to lock up every time it connected to a network...I had bought a new system, so it took a while to pin down the problem since the lock ups varied. Sometimes it would be a few seconds, other times a few minutes of surfing the internet. There are currently no drivers which will make it work under Vista 64 bit.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:having driver problems when on Ubuntu 9.04 (not the product fault)

Pros:N Capable works great for my system
Comment:
it works great for me when i'm on Windows. Even when using in a Hackintosh system, OSX recognize it as an airport Extreme and it just works. When on Ubuntu 9.04 however, it keeps on dropping signals every 5 to 10 mins. its not the product fault but its something to consider.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:Not very good reception

Pros:Wireless N capability
Comment:
This is an up-to-date wireless card that has support for wireless N. The downside I found about this card was the weak antennaes included - not very good through multiple floors. But it does the job, but I'm also sure a similar job could've been done using a generic card.

great performance in Concrete house
Comment:
i bought this a year ago along with D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme Wireless Router - 300Mbps, 802.11n. i have the router set up in the living room and this adapter is on my XP media center desktop in my bedroom. between the router and the adapter there are 3 Concrete walls (not drywall). i get a very low signal, but it is VERY IMPRESSIVE counting that the house is concrete. Very easy to install and setup. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:-Installation issue with the CD that came with it-Poor software

Pros:-Fast-Stable
Comment:
A warning to buyers of this adapter (and perhaps XP users):DO NOT install the device with the CD included in the package. When I installed it on my Windows XP machine, it messed up my login screen and had all sorts of issues of not being able to connect to my router (DIR-655) or look up any available networks using the Windows native connection. Like one of the other reviewers, I had to get the latest driver from the D-link website, transfer on to my USB stick and then install on to my machine. Just use the Windows native install when adding new hardware.Once you get past that, everything works as expected. I'm giving it a 4/5 cause that initial setup was annoying.

D-Link card
Comment:
I purchased the card as well as a D-Link tri band router to increase my wireless signal range. In this regard it is not any better than the router and card I replaced. Although it is advertized as being a more powerful/longer range set up, it is not. Was easy to install and use, just disappointed that it didn't give me a stonger signal.

Works like a charm
Comment:
For anyone having issues with this card, go to the web site and update firmware and use the latest driver. This is the 3rd of these cards ive installed in PC's in the last year and Ill never go back to the "L" or "N" cards. Had tried two compeditors cards with remote antennas because this was a terrible location behind a metal desk. Yes the remote antenna cards showed a stronger signal strength but this little gem has more throughput with one bar then the others with 3 and no crashing. 64 bit users do a google search for (DWA-552 64 bit drivers) and find the generic drivers from the wireless MFG.

My son tried to install Vista 64 on his machine and he couldnt reinstall with the right driver the adapter. The computer refuses to start or start and freeze at the first trial to configure the adapter. He went back the Vista 32 and it works fine.

D-Link DWA-552 32-bit PCI Xtreme Desktop Adapter
Cons:- No 5 GHZ support!- No dual band support- Installation is a PAIN- Expensive- PCI vs DWA-556 (PCI-E)

Pros:- Support Wireless N, B & G.- Faster due to triple antenna.
Comment:
First, configuring this device on Vista is not easy. Vista did not detect the video card after after physical installation. I had to reboot twice before it got detected. While G setup worked out right out the box, I had problems setting up draft N. After some unsuccessful experiments, I discovered that the WPA key must set to AES. The fact that 5 GHZ is not support is a significant drawback.

Cons:None

Pros:Good PriceFast Speeds
Comment:
This is a good deal on a nice wireless card. I operate it 2 floors above my router on the opposite side of the house and I still get a Strong Full Speed Connection. Makes this a good deal for a good priced Wireless-N NIC.

Comment:
I bought this 5 months ago and have it paired with a DIR-655 router, and have had nothing but perfect service from it. The range on it is great, and the speed is untouchable from any 802.11G card in my opinion. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking to upgrade to the future 802.11N

Cons:None so far

Pros:Works well. Good signal strength
Comment:
Very happy with this so far. I have it installed on a new build located in a desk aprox 15 feet from the router with good signal. It's not as fast as I'd like but I blame that on my old Apple router and not this card.Over all when it's on sale it's a good deal.
