Superb speed, especially in Windows 7. Hit & Miss usability. Like "Disappointed", I purchased three of these myself, and a single worked beautifully in a S939 BioStar 6100-M9. This card worked effectively for an upgrading an old intranet server to 1000 Mbit ethernet. It also worked out of the box with no getting to set up or compile drivers on GNU/Linux. none that I can consider of. Since this was used to upgrade an old server, I assume the lack of full 1000 Mbit transfers is due to bottle necks. Apache can get at most a 34 MiB/s HTTP transfer from the internal IDE drive. As for windows help/drivers, properly, I don't use windows. So no comment there.

No issues with install. Vista had drivers for it currently. none so far I didn't get a possibility to test the gigabit mode.

Rapid set up. Win7 found it and set up built-in drivers.With default settings, I'm finding about 40-45MB/s so far (I was worried when I read some evaluation mentionning only 20-25MB/s). That's faster than an Intel Pro񲿘 GT in the identical Computer.Only 7$ at the moment, tends to make it a great deal. WoL doesn't work so far, but I haven't began playing with settings but (other NICs I just swapped to compare speeds had WoL working with default settings). the box was small, which saves on shipping I suppose 2ǘ were DOA. When placed in my Pc my motherboard shorted, and now my machine won't even post BIOS. THESE CARDS ARE Harmful! Not even worth the money to send them back in. Do your self a favor and steer clear of these cards like the plague. Wish I could un-break my shorted motherboard. Skimping on the expenses of these cheap NICs has price me much, considerably a lot more now that I need to replace my whole machine.

Well, it functions for the most component. Works good in windows/unix/some mac. Ok speed I guess.. Even though it works in Mac, beware if you have 64-bit slots! Inexpensive, effortless, quick, JUMBO FRAMES! None so far. The (nearly) universal driver set created this incredibly straightforward to install, even on really distinct machines. Windows Server 2003 is not specifically "supported," but there is a generic Realtek driver that is installed automatically. Even so, I wanted Jumbo Frames enabled, so I tried the Win2K driver on Win2K3, and it functions just fine. There are no pros since they did not function. Each cards I bought were negative. Kept dropping off the network every single three seconds. Created a lot of errors on the network when they were attempting to function and they never ever connected at Gigabit speeds when they did connect. I tried several systems and several OS's. Ships in a box, in an anti-static baggie, with driver CD-Rom. Really pleased.Card is very modest, and saves space and leaves room for airflow sitting above my video card.

My Windows 7 did recognize it with no any issues, and it did connect to the gigabit router at 1 gbs (with the CAT6 cable - or at least that is what Windows mentioned it was). I also like the fairly green color of the circuit board. It's shiney! Switching between my onboard 10럼 and this card, I discovered that the card would drop the connection to the online soon after about three mins or so. It wouldn't disconnect from the network, but it couldn't attain out to any internet sites. When it did manage to connect steadily, it in fact ran SLOWER than my 10럼 onboard. I tried tweaking all the settings for Windows, the card, and for my router to no avail. The closest point I can describe this to is dial-up speeds. It's fairly sad when Google's homepage requires a minute and a half (I timed it) to load, whereas with my onboard 10럼 it came up in about five seconds. I was able to use a peer-to-peer plan and squeeze a descent speed out of it, but I couldnt get the net loading speed to run anyplace close to that. I'd return it to Newegg, but it isn't worth the re-stocking fee or the return shipping. This might operate superior in an older tower (without an onboard LAN) with far more reliability. Otherwise I'm thinking it's other utilizes may possibly involve paper weight, frisbee, or perhaps dog chew toy. While I suppose 1 couldn't rule out back scratcher.
