Comment:
I really like these speakers. They are fairly compact but can still punch out a lot of sound. Bass seems fairly accurate, and pretty clean. The set I got came with an included optical cable for a higher quality audio connection.

Cons:weak bassnot powerful

Pros:crystal clear soundgood bang for the bucklooks nice
Comment:
These are good, above average speakers for about 100 bucks, worth every dollar. The sound is very crisp and clear although not very loud even when I crank it up all the way. I've listened to DVD, CD, MP3 and Divx. They all sound very good with very little distortion. For gaming, I use the HT Claro Plus 7.1 virtual surround. The front and side sound ok but the rear is a little weird. It takes some getting used to.It comes with a optical cable which is what I'm using. overall a very good buy.

Picked these up for customer, wished I could keep them. First thing you will notice is the box weighs a ton. You will find inside a beefy sub woofer and very elegant speakers. The build quality on both are excellent, no plastic here! The controller add a nice touch with a cool blue light and headphone/aux input. Speakers can be attached with either analogue or digital connection, and both connectors are supplied. I paired these black beauty's with a Lian Li case, and the matching blue LED lighting looks great, sounds great.Highly recommend, and best of all, Edifier is a Canadian Company

Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input
Cons: It would have been nice if the speaker wires were covered in black with the proper indicators on instead of the clear plastic.

Pros: - Sounds great and looks great- The control pod lights up with a ring of blue which was a nice surprise
Comment:
Good quality speakers at $100! I use headphones most of the time but when I don't feel like putting on the cans these are a great alternative. Of course these are not super high quality speakers but they get the job done.

Cons: Perhaps some crackling at higher volumes.

Pros: Excellent sound qualityGood fit and finishSupport for a wide variety of inputsCheap for the quality you getCanadian product!
Comment:
Pleasantly surprised with these speakers. I bought them to replace a set of altec lansings that were sadly destroyed by a kitty that chewed through the controller cable. The altecs were 300$ in 2001. These sound a hell of a lot better and actually output higher range sounds. The bass is not as loud but it is much cleaner sounding. I tend to have crackling that occurs at louder volumes or when the signal input is much too high ( I recommend turning your OS volume to about 50% and adjusting the volume by the speaker dial). Not sure if the crackling is an artifact of my crappy sound blaster x-fi/realtek onboard drivers however. Probably the best mass produced set of computer speakers in this price range.

Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input
Cons: Because the manual in black & white makes it harder to follow some of the diagrams on connecting the wires, I had to look up the website's manual PDF. Minor popping (crackling?) noises on certain mp3 songs even though they're decent VBR bitrate, which were never detectable on my other speakers.

Pros: Powerful audio. Nice bass.
Comment:
I've been researching for the best 2.1 speakers at a reasonable price for weeks because my 7-year old Altec Lansing speakers have is just too old and has some annoyances :(. Last month I purchased the Logitech S-220 because it was $20 cheap and reviews were favourable, but I was not impressed with the bass as it sounded a little fake, regardless of how much I played around my software enhancements. I was naive, believing that was good, which I'm sure it is -- for its price range. After receiving my Edifier S330D set, I was happy with the quality (both sound and physical build/design - mmm smooth & glossy :). Sound is definitely clearer than the Logitech, even though this isn't a fair comparison.I've seen many reviews commenting on its "weak" bass. This is not the case for me even on slow ballad songs, but I have it on max power :). Even on max, there wasn't any real distortion. However, I still rely on the good old Enhancer (Winamp DSP) plugin coupled with the laptop's SRS Premium Sound. This tweak combo is just lovely.

Cons: For a 2.1 set in this price range, none.

Pros: Clear sound, relatively solid bass, gorgeous finish on the speakers, quality speaker wiring, digital in.
Comment:
I wasn't purchasing these expecting to be blown away, but rather to find an affordable balance of looks and performance.Sound is satisfactory for my use (moderate volume, secondary music player/gaming station). Was a little disappointed with how weak the output is to my headset prom the volume knob, but I plan to resolve this problem with my next sound card purchase. I am overall extremely satisfied and recommend this set over anything Logitech/Creative/Sony have to offer at this price point. They both look and sound good.

Cons: -Weak and muddy bass

Pros: -Looks -Price-Digital In
Comment:
I bought the edifier 330d as i wanted a small and good looking 2.1 system to fit on my desk. I was considering another z-2300 but decided to try these out after reading the great reviews. Compared to those, the sound of these speakers is almost but not quite there. I am using a Xfi-titanium with them using digital in. The sound is very satisfactory for the price and really enjoyable to listen to. The only small complaint is the muddy and kind of weak sounding bass. I was looking for a more controlled and punchy sound and the sub does not stand out at all. That being said, the volume controller and looks and sound overall for the price are well worth it.

These speakers look great and sound even better(what matters). Before i bought them i questioned there quality because i heard of a couple people having problems with them. I am not disappointed one bit. As far a total output thought i was somewhat disappointed. Not quiet as amazing as everyone hypes up. Loud, but not far enough for some people i am sure. If i wanted to spend more i would consider getting a stereo amp and some good bookshelves.

Cons: Control Pod could have more controls on it.

Pros: Build Quality and look does not feel cheapWell PackagedSound for Price RangeVariety of InputsCan use standard speaker cable to extend range if desiredIncludes optical cable
Comment:
Purchased these to replace Altec Lansing VS4121's that have given me problems ever since the warranty expired. The interference, hum, static on those was appalling. After a couple months of mulling over more expensive sets (Mako, Z-2300 to name two) I settled on these due to other reviews and the fact that they have an optical/digital input. I primarily use the speakers for music and gaming, and these seemed like a good all around set. Running off of my motherboards integrated optical out they sound way better than my old speakers. There is no detectable line noise, and the sound is crisp. The speakers themselves and the control pod all have a good weight to them, and a feel of solid construction. It would be nice to have an input selector, base control and power button right on the control pod, but it's not a major hassle. I didn't find these on sale like some others, but for $130 these were well worth it. I'm sure there are better speakers out there, but in terms of quality of sound and construction for the price, these are 5 stars.

Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input
Cons: the bass is at 0 on the sub when shipped

Pros: quality of work, sound good, look good, the "remote control" is great
Comment:
These are great speakers, a bit expensive, but well worth the money. I haven't tried the digital connection yet, but the analog one sounds much much better than my older altec lansincs, no more hummmm... I love the "remote control". It's not really a cable-less remote, but it's a big knob you can control the volume. I can turn on-off the speakers, the blue light is awesome, the knob is awesome, and it's very useful to connect headphones/audio in (like ipod) to that remote control.

These speakers replaced my aging Yamaha set. I cannot think of a better set than these in this price range. I found placing the satellites above the desk makes them feel more directional and fills the room much better. They can also crank and seem to deliver well beyond their spec of 72 watts.

Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input
Cons:Stuff happens and I had to repair:I had these shipped from one end of the country to the extreme other and was a little nervous as to how they would fare. When they arrived one speaker was not working and I was damned if I was going to spend more shipping them back to NCIX for a set costing this much. So I pulled the back off the sub and started investigating.First off the build quality on these is excellent!!! I did find a twisted diode that was the speaker shorting problem and would appear that it was a result of getting bumped during assembly at the factory.Despite this I would still recommend this set to anyone. Why because, I can tell from checking out the interior that the build quailty on them is excellent. You would have to drop  these from pretty high up to damage them. Shipping was the least of my worries and the diode I fixed easily and all is golden again. Stuff happens and the problem was accidental and not a result of build quality so I have no problems giving this set a 4 rating ~

Pros:Sturdy ConstructionComes with optical cableVolume pod for desktopGood sound for price rangeSmall footprintAppearanceFeatures for price
Comment:
If your looking for a small footprint 2.1 setup these look good, sound great, and have a great set of features~The volume pod sitting on the desk is attractive, well made and functional. When the headphones are plugged into the volume control all sound is completely cut from the speakers. I have no problem with sound bleeding through the speakers when my headphones are plugged into the pod, which a couple folks have reported.Sound quailty for price is great!Coupled with the Azentech explosion Cinema card using both digital and anolog inputs. If you want heavy bass you will need to adjust your sound cards frequency to bring the bass up a notch or two.The mid range also is a bit weak but at this price I'm not complaining. The highs are excellent, both Jazz winds and vocals sound exceptional. BB King, Joan Armatrading and the like couldn't be better without spending a lot more!Edit: Forgot to mention that they take volume nicely! While they sound ok at lower volumes, I can put them as loud as I like on occasion with next to no distortion to the sound in my mid sized room... ;) This review was modfied by poster @ 02-06-10 05:26 AM

Pros:Audio qualityMultiple audio insUses regular speaker wiresLooks classyVolume controller knob looks and feels like qualityAdjustable bass that can turn it off completely
Comment:
These speakers have surpassed my expectations. They are the kind of speakers that will let you notice details in your music that you've never heard before. My girlfriend who works in audio recording noticed different sounds coming from songs she's heard hundreds of times. These speakers also take multiple audio ins, like generic 3.5mm wires, optical, to the red and white wires for your xbox 360.I have these set up right now on my computer and xbox. The only problem so far is that you cannot select  which audio in takes priority, nor does it take audio in simultaneously across multiple devices. You need to unplug all other sources to play from one specific device. For my x360, I need to unplug my PC optical wire to play sound, but for my PC I can just leave everything plugged in. Could have been handled better, but a minor quibble given the great audio quality.

Edifier S330D 2.1 Speaker Set 72W RMS High Gloss Black Piano Finish Digital & Analog Input
Cons:Would love to see sub with same high gloss piano finish as satellites.

Pros:Balanced uncolored sound,appearance,quality
Comment:
This speaker setup is very impressive. The fit and finish is A-1.The SOUND is why you should buy.I enjoy the uncolored natural sound of my music;if sonic clarity is for you ,get these. The bass response drops off softly after 40hz,the sub is NOT boomy, and the high end goes up as far as the human ear.You will be amazed at the musical program suddenly appearing from all your favorite music. If you feel the sound needs adjusting than between the sub control and the 10 band graphic equalizer that is standard with Window media player(just left click the "now playing tab")choose enhancements>choose EQ,this makes the sound infinitely adjustable to suit your taste.Sattelites are 18watts and sub 40watts.This means clean sound that can go quite loud!Personally,I keep the sattelites 4ft apart on speaker stands for the best stereo imaging, clears up desk too!Dont forget pure copper 16gauge Belkin Wire with gold speaker pins,(flex gold for sub connectors)pins wont fit,for ultimate signal transfer! The master volume,on/off finishes system nicely, can't beat it.PS digital input cleans up music too much, you lose content,i disconnected it.analog gold plated inputs are best, also Belkin.Better looking, more exciting, less expense than Bose. Cons:Not too much to say here, wish they could have thrown in a Digital coaxial cable too (for durability reasons)

Pros:+Doesn't take up too much space+Digital input support +Optical cable included+Very good quality at this price point
Comment:
I had purchased this to supplement my mini-entertainment setup which happens to revolve around a T260HD (one of the few monitors to support digital audio out). Not too many speaker setups with a digital input out there for sale that even come close to this price point.Running a PS3, Xbox360, and a PC indirectly to these speakers, everything sounds so much better now, without taking too much space at all. Also, as many other people here have already mentioned, the subwoofer here set to max generates quite a lot of bass. All in all, its a really good way to increase your audio quality without breaking the bank or taking up a lot of space like most home theatre speakers; previously used a Logitech Z-5500 setup this way, and I would say the quality is very comparable, but for a lower cost.

If you price maych or get them what they usually sell on NCIX for $119 these are as good as it gets. The only other speakers that sound better and louder then these maybe the Klipsch promedia 2.1 but those are double the cost and good luck finding them. Comment:
Very pleased. Superb quality for the price. Using the optical input, my Sondigo Inferno has never sounded better. My 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers died after several years of satisfactory performance and I wanted to go a step up this time around. Tried a few other brands (including "higher end" Altecs) before settling on this set from Edifier. None of the 2.1 sets I'd tried previously compared, even those that were twice the price. Time will tell if they're as durable as the Altecs were, but they certainly sound better.A suggestion to those who sense a lack in the midrange: try moving the satellites off your desktop. With the satellites on either side of my monitor and the listening field narrowed, the sound quality suffered a minor hit. If you can manage it, move the satellites farther apart and further away from your ears (they can be mounted on the wall easily). I have bookshelves on either side of my desk and installed the satellites in these. I noticed a marked improvement after doing so.
