Comment:
It was comparatively inexpensive compared to other makers. Its incredibly quick and it looks nice in the situation. Great heatsinks. Heatsinks also double as a handle if you dont have a lot of space to perform (although I dont consider they're supposed to be utilised as a manage.) Fairly tall. May result in a difficulty if you have an soon after market cpu cooler on a board exactly where the cpu and memory are close together.

Comment:
What genuinely sets these apart from other RAM kits is the heat spreaders- and they aren't just for show. At the rated speeds, passive cooling is awesome and sticking an 80mm fan more than the modules produces very low temps below load. None. A word of advice to other reviewers: If you use an AM2+ platform, don\'t forget that not all ram is guaranteed to run at 1066mhz. Also don\'t forget that 8gb is a entirely different animal than 4gb and will demand you to manually set timings and latencies in the BIOS, and even then it might just not function. Check your motherboard vendor's web site if you're hell bent on operating these at 1066mhz.

Installed the memory and it worked - no hassle; set my bios settings manually prior to install so I don't know what settings would have been auto configured. None I really like it when an item works as it must - also I agree New Egg rocks for purchases.

This ram rocks!!!! It looks cool (for these who are into asthetics), and the heatsink is built rock solid, and feels like it's a quality create. What else can I say, it works, and functions well. Well, not really a con, but it can be, depending on your tech knowledge and your mobo. When I very first installed it, both sticks only clocked in at ddr2 800. On the other hand, when I went into my bios, and force the settings to 533hz(ddr2 1066) vs. 400mhz(ddr2 800), it now shows up as what I paid to get. Greatest issue to do is to examine your mobo's memory help to be certain. This is particularly accurate if your mobo doesn't have decent overclocking options for your ram. Bought this with the Asus M3N78-EM Mobo. Operates effectively with it, and no complaints. Now, if only newegg would get the Phenom 2 940 cpu avaliable, and knock 100 dollars off the expense, that would be amazing!!!!!

Plopped this into my brother's Zotac 780i motherboard, set the speed to 1066, manually set the timings, and off to the races we went. Passed memtest analysis and no troubles to this day. Memory was at an all time low in expense at the time of purchase so we got it about 30 dollars more affordable than when I'm writing this review. No cons, G.Ability tends to make some good memory. This is my 4th dual kit G.Skill package I have bought for people and it all functions out of the package.

Looks coolGood major heatsinkGood speeds (apparently) At initially my personal computer would crash whenever I would play any games or something that created the memory get started working difficult, and that at some point turned into crashing whenever I boot up my personal computer, I am fairly disappointed that I have to go back to my slow old RAM. I was hoping to get some operating RAM, now I'm going to have to go through a tedious RMA and have to wait for weeks. Manufacturer Response:.Dear CustomerWe apologize for the inconvenience. Please check your memory settings in BIOS to make positive that every little thing is set properly. A lot of instances the motherboard could not pick up the correct settings, as a result, it can trigger instability or slow efficiency like you have skilled. The moment the memory is properly configured, you must have no troubles. So far have had no probs with these mem modules. By way of in and worked. Had to set the timings for the mem to operate at 1066, no biggie. I wanted to upgrade to 8 gigs the moment i knew my program was operating fine and now this mem has jumped up ุ in price. I thought i really should have gone witha ddr3 board given that that mem has gotten more affordable than the ddr2 now. what up with that? other than the cost getting crazy on these now. Newegg was good. every thing shipped rapidly and received when expected. Great heat spreaders. Appear good, and run fine with out any crashes. Cost was fantastic when I got em.. Couldn't get it to run at the speed set. There was no alternative in BIOS to set it past 800MHz, although my mobo claims that it can run 1066.Also, I got lucky, about a day or 2 immediately after I bought this, the price tag went up! Wish I would've gotten a ddr3 board =/ Other than that, it is very good RAM. I am additional than most likely performing Anything wrong anyways. I would gladly advise this.

Fantastic appear and feel. Great and heavy, large heatsink.Never ever gets hot. ever. Wont run at 1066. ill tell you why.You can NOT overclock RAM (which you will have to do, mainly because this is really ddr2 800 that can quickly manage 1066) that is unique. EVEN IF you have the similar brand and model. i have these and the 2x1gb versions, and i cant get past the windows 7 splash without having bsoding. So--If you want 6 gigs of ram on 4 slots, dont expect them to run at 1066 unless they are essentially 1066. 800 works wonderful, speedy as can be, and it gets a 7.3 Windows 7 Encounter Rating, which is phenominal. - Very good memory for the cost- Looks sharp in my machine (black and red case mod)- Excellent heat dissipation- Very good efficiency - Heat sinks stick out a tiny far - close quarters with my CPU heatsink but no key concerns- Have to configure manually in BIOS I bought this memory as an upgrade for a machine that I built a year ago. I was originally operating 4GB ƒx2GB dual-channel) at 800Mhz and bought two of these kits to upgrade to 8GB at 1066Mhz. When I initally booted my machine the memory came up at 800Mhz clock speed, but it was really effortless to set timing, voltage and clock speed in the BIOS according to the specs printed on the item packaging. Once I did that and rebooted, I had no other difficulties. I ran a burn-in for a couple of hours and benchmarked my technique. So far I'm pleased with the efficiency. The heat sinks stick out a bit - no main issues but close quarters w/ the CPU heat sink. On the up side they catch air flow in the case and have very good heat dissipation. I've done some case mods with a black and red color scheme, and these sticks match nicely. Setup was dirt uncomplicated, but if you're squeamish about manually configuring the BIOS and want to just install it and have it work, you might want to think about anything else.

Ram operates at stated speed in dual channel only. It is definitely quickly and I noticed a large difference. I tried Kingston HyperX prior to these and I as well purchased 8GB and couldn't get those to run at proper speed with all 4 modules or even with two. I am greatful NewEgg was willing to let me to return them..and I employed teh refund to obtain these. Quite disappointed at this point. I purchased 8GB to max out my process. I am working with the Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi with the Q6600..and ATI 4670's in Crossfire mode. I tried all varieties of timings and setting to get all 8GB to run at 1066 to no avail. I have tried contacting G-Ability on acquiring a bit of help with receiving all 8GB of ram to run at full speed. I only gave three get started due to the fact I couldn't get all four stick to run at complete speed. But it does deserve five stars for operating properly at said speed in dual channel mode. To actually see the true speed you need to turn off Speedsteop on your CPU. In my case Speedstep would trigger teh CPU to run all 4 cores at 1ǘ speed Ƒ.6Ghz) until teh OS demanded much more speed. I turned off speedstep and teh cores run at two.4 all the time...so significantly much better now. In Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64 my score jumped up to 5.7 as a rating. Woohoo! prepared to game for positive. Rapid, fantastic heatsinks, pretty. Needed a bit of tinkering with the BIOS to get it to operate at the rated speed. Your grandma is not going to plug and play these memory sticks. Minus one egg for BIOS tinkering. When installing memory I instantly test it with Memtest86+. At first, these sticks failed miserably. Manually adjusted the timings and voltages ƒ.1). Failed, but not so bad. Finally, I boosted the MCH (memory controller hub) voltage by .1. "That's a BINGO!" Passed ten hours of Memtest386+. I am employing a Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L motherboard. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientThe JEDEC maximum standard for most motherboards is DDR2 800 at 1.8v, which is the reason why you need to have to manually adjust BIOS settings for DDR2-1066. The motherboard will only be able to automatically detect settings for memory below DDR2-800. Something above DDR2-800 will will need to be manually configured in BIOS as an Enhanced Efficiency Profile (EPP), it is not an concern with the memory but the standard of your motherboard. Nicely, it does operate, but not as it need to. it did appear genuinely good and looked like the heat spreaders would have done some true cooling rather than just a cover. I had 8gb in my mobo, set the speed manually to 1066 only to find that it was all operating at about 500mhz... so i went back in and set the timings back to 800 to see if it would even go that fast and then it Died.. second day of my laptop or computer and i cant use the stuff b/c i have NO ram and newegg is taking 5 days to send my ram... Allows for stable overclocking. no cons for me! **important** If your CPU is rated at 800mhz fsb then your mobo wont permit access to the 1066mhz memory speeds FYI. Using an 800fsb Pentium e5300 my mobo only allowed starting speeds of 667 or 800. Raising fsb to raise ram past 800 caused instability. Beginning at 667 and raising to 800 allowed e5300 to go from two.6 to 3.1ghz totally stable below p95 for 12+hrs .... 1066fbs pentium e6500 made it potential for mobo to enable starting speeds of 667, 800, or 1066. starting at 800 it's now running at 964 and my e6500 is at 3.4ghz stable overclocked from two.93 tested thru p95 12+hrs. memory voltage set to 1.85v. mobo is ASUS p5kpl-am epu (I personal 3 of them.)

Nonetheless you can get much better response timing with some registry tweaks. All in All, it's a good obtain! The price tag need to be less costly thinking about DDR3 has been out for so long. ๋ would have been a much more reasonable cost. Motherboard didn't detect settings on the SPD, so I had to manually input the facts, and hand set my FSB, and the ram speed, which is extremely simplistic! *WARNING* Do your self a favor and By no means use Eggsaver to get some smaller laptop or computer component, it took DHL a week to finally tendered to my USPC! Incredibly slow delivery! Save yourself some headache and just pay for a Fedex or UPS delivery! With 4GB of ram, you can disable virtual memory on your program which will improve response time, and make loading of applications a lot faster. I will be buying this package again next month!

easy to install. looks cool and runs cool. bios on my foxconn a7da-s doesnt autodetect them as 1066 modules, and throws them at 800 mhz, have to set it manually to 1066mhz and operating them at the stock five-five-5-15 timings makes them unstable (unusually considering that thats their rated speed), and to make them perform appropriately i had to increase the volts from the stock two.two to 2.5 volts to get them to run stable. soon after that no issues, incredibly very good memory could be cheaper Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientThank you for your G.Skill buy and review. Great memory. Running four modules @ 1066 using 2.0v completely stable. A little more expensive than some other people, but worth it. The heat sink style appears to work well too, but I had to add an active memory fan with all four modules running on my system. Operating close to maximum speed, so not considerably overclocking space left. Two modules had been stable for me at 1108 Mhz, 2.1v on a 6 hour test. 4 modules only created it to 1083 Mhz.
