-Effortless connectivity-Computer software uncomplicated to install-Packed with capabilities for the price Non.... but (fingers crossed) I bought this MB from a nearby shop nearly a month ago for the exact same value of 贍.00. This was my initially construct and I wanted to go with a good mid ranged MB to start off. This MB hit the spot. It had all the functions I would want devoid of going overboard. Connecting everything was easy and I think that this MB helped me learn setting up a new method with the manual offered. Granted I spent a lot of time looking google for issues but that's due to the fact I'm a perfectionist. I just wanted to write a critique simply because I just like the product. It operates fantastic and I consider it was much more then worth the $ spent.

Every little thing went incredibly smooth, booted up first time. Gigabyte's web site is excellent. Simply search for your model quantity and all the links to updated drivers, manual, memory etc are conveniently on one particular page. The BIOS is outstanding, supplying access to pretty much something you would need for overclocking including temperatures and fan control. I like the idea of onboard USB3 because this is an mATX and I don't have to waste a PCI slot. The Intel H55 chipset doesn't support RAID (H57 does) but there is an onboard controller for ƒ) drives in either RAID or 1. At initially I had no sound, but that was just due to misunderstanding the speaker configuration in Realtek HD Audio Manager. Also I would have liked much more fan headers- there is a single for CPU and 1 program. It isn't a large deal even though mainly because this program runs quite cool so I don't demand substantial manage on the additional case fans. Soon after extensive analysis I narrowed my alternatives down to this board and the Asus P7H55D-M EVO. Though I may possibly attempt a mild overclock in the future, it's not the most critical factor for me so I went with Gigabyte. I don't do any gaming so decided to take a chance on integrated graphics in the i3-530 to hold expenses down, and for me video is better than expected. All factors considered this is a wonderful mid-range board with lots of attributes for the funds, and I'm quite content with it. As often make sure you update the BIOS, install latest drivers, use authorized memory and if only using ƒ) modules use the white slots. Good feature set for the (discounted) value, the only H55 board I know of that supports USB3, RAID and eSATA. Simple to OC: just set BCLK to 160, use 1600 Mhz RAM and you obtain 20% making use of the stock cooler. You can also overclock the internal GPU with this board, which can help smooth out playback of intense 1080p files. Lousy placement of the front panel audio connector but that's a typical challenge with several boards from all mfgrs. Also, I would have significantly preferred SATA headers on edge of board with 90° mounts. These are more quibbles than cons. See other thoughts for the one particular actual con. I've built a couple of systems making use of this board, the only problem I've ever had was due to a stick of RAM that went negative soon after 1 wk of use. The point is, it ought to have been simpler to troubleshoot; Gigabyte's POST message wrongly indicated a bad power provide. Soon after confirming that the PSU was in fact very good I believed for a while that the MoBo was at fault. In retrospect I guess that's a Con. Error messages must be beneficial, not misleading.

Tons of attributes, stable, properly laid out, high build high quality, excellent for an HTPC.Lack of blinking power LED in standby (S3) mode (was weird at very first, but I now realize it's great when you have it in the living room) Gigabyte assistance (see below)Blinking power LED when Dynamic Power Saver is turned on, an uncomplicated (but not apparent) toggle in the DES2 computer software although.Only 1 system fan header, very easily fixed with a three pin splitter nevertheless. I originally purchased a GA-H55M-SH2 for my new HTPC construct but soon realized that eSATA, Firewire and USB3 were attributes I wanted.Checked out this board on Gigabyte's web site and noticed that it had a ATX 12v 4Ʋ plug as an alternative of the standar four pin 12v.In reading by way of the on the net PDF for the board it mentions that a 4Ʋ connector is advised by the manufacture for Intel Extreme Edition processors making use of more than 130 Watts, so I figured I really should be be ok with a single 4 pin for my low power Core i3 ࿩W) build.Just to be confident I get in touch with Gigabyte assistance asking if considering that I was operating integrated graphics and a decrease finish Core i3 if I would require the full 4Ʋ 12v plug or if the four ping would be enough, and if the board necessary all 8 pins was there a molex to four pin choice. The response I got was "This board has a ATX 12v fourƲ connector"Suffice to say I took a gamble and purchased this board, just the four pin 12v functions perfectly fine with my create, overclocking may possibly be a distinct s

Lots of ports and area for four sticks of ram, uATX, not also high priced, quaility appears great, smells excellent.... Booting takes a bit if time if its checking CD drive for OS very first (disable the moment you're up and running) and minor but only a single case fan header I under no circumstances write critiques BTW but I feel this will assist. When I initially powered this board I couldn't get it to post. It kept cycling on and off. I had read the poor evaluations here and knew what I might be in for. I reset the CMOS, still had a issue and assumed DOA. I called Gigabyte tech support in CA and after a few minutes of annoying hold radio truly got a quite great useful guy who diagnosed a ground fault (after performing a cmos reset pull the 8 pin power connector and see if the leds still blink). I removed the board from the situation, plugged th 8 pin back in and it worked. Now its working perfectly. Hopefuly it won't die as other people have knowledgeable. I bought an extended warranty just in situation. If you do purchase this for OSX purposes (as I may possibly have) make positive you do your homework and get the proper video card. After a very annoying journey I picked up a PNY 9800GT. Very good luck.

This board has every thing! Dolby Theater sound, HDMI, USB3 and digitial audio in and out via S/PDIF. I plopped it in an Antec cas and began utilizing it as an HTPC. I wish there was additional than 2 three. Gb/s interfaces. There are 3 more, but they are 1Ǜ Gb/s. Locating a S/PDIF adapter is my subsequent adventure

Exceptional board. Operating an i5 650 flawless with the on-board video option, as that CPU supports it. Nice layout, was simple to come across points proper on the board without having even getting to go to the manual. 4 memory slots, gobs of USB ports! Factor has ports all over the spot for like anything.Express Recovery two is also a true bonus. If those of you with recent Gigabyte boards have not tried it, it can be an added plus for those that build for pals and loved ones or as OEMs... I use this a lot anymore, and have been shopping for mainly Gigabyte boards, just to have that function alone. And with this board it worked perfectly once once again. Form element is a bigger size for a mATX. I have utilised smaller boards than this, but it will fit a mATX case or bigger, just can be a tight fit on some cases, so be aware. No other cons however that I have encountered. Fit snugly into a Pixxo ITX/ATXm case. Utilizing it with a i5 650 CPU, 8GB of G.Ability ƔGBx2 kit) PC3-8500 RipJaws, 640GB WD Black ࿀mb cache), running Windows 7 Pro 64Bit. Flawless setup, no issues at all. Not confident why so a lot of have had problems with this and equivalent boards.Just a tip, don't generally go with bundles, as at times the RAM bundled may not function well with some boards. I generally study and choose RAM that I know functions with the boards I have employed in the past.Runs Win 7 Pro fast and perfectly. No concerns with setup, no issues with something seriously. Most significant trouble I had with the develop was merely assembling it, the case I chose was small sized, so anything was a tight fit, but that was all.

Superior than Intel. The pentium G can only run stable at 3.6ghz on my GB H55M utilizing the IG due to the .45nm gpu becoming beneath the very same fan. But nevertheless in my opinion any other current intel .32nm CPU is a boondoggle. i3 or i5 can not sustain the same overclock value due to their Hotter 鼝 and 933ghz) GPU's. No bios update with Win 7 x64 L.A. is Going to get a Chilean Earthquake very soon.

Windows 7 x64, i3-530 processor and GIGABYTE GA-H55M-USB3 motherboard make a truly good and effective mixture for an office or media Computer; assembly and setup are effortless and straightforward. Backing up old BIOS making use of Q-Flash utility from revision F2 hung and created me nervous, on the other hand upgrading BIOS to revision F6 went fine. Windows 7 x64, i3-530 processor and GIGABYTE GA-H55M-USB3 motherboard make a really nice and potent combination for an workplace or home theater Computer; assembly and setup are effortless and straightforward. Almost everything appears good on paper! Continual reboots/shutdowns. Much like other users, I knowledgeable the dreaded reboot/shutdown problem. Having built several machines for men and women in the past, I normally preserve Gigabyte on my brief list. One of the two mobos I bought won't remain running - it will restart or shutdown absolutely at random occasions. I was in a position to get the OS installed (Win 7 Ultimate), but began possessing the difficulty shortly thereafter. Often it shuts down on POST, at times I can get to the BIOS, and sometimes I can even get to the OS, but it will - typically within seconds - shutdown or reboot itself. I attempted a different energy provide, memory, processor, hard drive, etc., all to no avail. As we all know, I have to spend to RMA it, but it's truly the time wasted that's invaluable. My friend wanted the Computer for his kids for Christmas - guess that's not happening...thanks Gigabyte! Manufacturer Response:Dear Buyer,Thank you for your comments. Lots of capabilities, great cost, great for a HTPC. This mobo just will not function with Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO from G Ability, if you are purchasing this mobo avoid the RAM modules and viceversa. Operating with GA tech forum is useless, they just say "it's their fault" and wont do anything to operate on that.

Good set of contemporary attributes for the price. Lots of overclocking alternatives and adjustments in BIOS. Firewire was a plus for me (for older camcorder), and USB3 will be great if I ever locate a device that utilizes it. Board worked wonderful 1st time I powered it up, and I haven't had any troubles with it. AHCI BIOS a tiny slow to boot even in Quick Boot mode, about 20 seconds just before starting to load the OS. Only CPU fan header has PWM, the single case fan header is variable voltage with no speed control in BIOS, Speedfan, or even bundled ET6 app -- case fan speed manage seems to be challenging-wired. Com port header cable would have been nice to include things like. USB3 driver installed some user-mode service agent that I disabled with autoruns. I was hesitant to acquire this board based on difficulties other people reported, but I'm really glad I decided to give it a try. I've been running 4Ghz for a week now and it is very stable.

Have utilised Gigabyte and ASUS in the past with no complications but this is timeconsuming and frustrating trying to get this resolved! Power cycle dilemma that others have also had! I used this board for an HTPC construct and am certain glad I did. I coupled it with a i5 670 and it purrs beautifully. Lots of SATA ports, 4 ram slots, a lot of USB ports in the rear, and MOST importantly it fired up as soon as I was performed connecting every little thing. None so far. Knock on wood. I bought this board from a nearby retailr that had it going for 赨.00 with the i5 670. The i7 670's integrated videos worked quite nicely with this board. I coupled all of this with a LG blu-ray player and PowerDVD ten Ultra.

Cheap, lots of functions. Would be five stars if it were for the significant 'Cons' below. I've had this board for pretty much 5 months now, at initial I simply operating stock. I would occasionally get a memory_management BSOD but running a battery of tests (prime95 for 8hrs followed by memtest for 4hrs) showed no concerns. I dismissed it as a random bug in Windows7 that would crop up from time to time. Then I noticed even the most minor changes in settings would trigger the bios recovery. For instance I have to run my memory at 1333mhz, if I enable the XMP profile to have the memory run at 1600mhz it crashes and resets the earlier setting of 1333mhz. Even leaving almost everything default but altering base clk from Auto to manual, but not altering the speed itself triggers a crash and bios recovery. I tried all bios revisions up to F7. I bought the board based off Hardocp's Gold award it received. I would like nothing a lot more then to give this board a different shot and review that board but Gigabyte doesn't do cross-shipping and I can't wait 2 weeks as this is my business laptop or computer.

Inexpensive and dependable for Hackintosh. What additional do you want? I was shocked when I realized that the motherboard does not come with any cables to connect the internal USB connectors. You would have to get these cables if you wanted front-mounted USB ports. Am I wrong? Is it odd not to contain these? I don't recall this becoming the case with other motherboards I've bought.

Would be good if it worked correctly... I've had the very same random reboots as absolutely everyone else :o(For reference, mine is a rev 1. board.Immediately after numerous months of trial and error, it appears that the random reboots generally happen (for me) when cold booting after the machine has been off for some time. It tends to make it though POST, then reboots.I've tried unique power supplies, unique memory, distinct memory settings and voltages... not sure what else to do. The outcome is usually the identical. From time to time I also get a BDOD in Win7 Property Premium 64, despite the fact that this is far less frequent than the reboots at startup. My construct is a fairly straightforward 1:- Core i3 CPU- 2 x 2GB GSkill DDR3- 500 WD Caviar Black HDD- Antec EarthWatts Green PSU- Microsoft USB Mouse and Keyboard- no PCIx video card or any other cardsEven though this board comes hugely advise as a very good option (spec sensible) for HTPC use, I would strongly recommend seeking for a thing else if you basically expect it to function reliably. tiny, feature-wealthy, affordable board. Made a wonderful HTPC when paired with an i3 CPU. Bugged out right after just a couple of weeks. It's not totally dead, specifically, but now, additional generally than not, it won't boot. Instead, it spontaneously re-boots, and will just keep undertaking this until someone really shuts it off. When it *does* boot, it works for a few minutes, then enters the exact same endless "reboot loop".This behavior occurs Ƒ) using either the onboard video or a separate video card, and ƒ) also regardless of the amount of RAM or # of RAM sticks installed. I've also tried 2 different CPUs, and observed the similar matter with each - so the challenge must be something to do with the motherboard itself. And, unfortunately, I figured this out only after the RMA period expired. Loved the board, till it decided to really literally 'go loopy' :-P

Works with i3 and i5 Intel HD graphics CPU's.Looks neat. Like everybody else, I'm getting A) random reboot troubles, and B) random occasions when the board won't POST powering on. I think I've isolated it to RAM.If you're running 1.50V RAM with the board, you must be fine.If you're running 1.65V RAM, the BIOS will automobile it to 1.56V (see other thoughts) Before you do something else with the computer once it's assembled ... Add 1 stick of RAM, go into BIOS, up the RAM voltage to 1.64, save the profile, save BIOS, power-down, then add the rest of your RAM and you need to be fine.Once more, do this ONLY if you have 1.65V RAM.And do this ahead of something else. Last thing any individual desires is to be installing Windows 7 and halfway by means of installation -POOF- random reboot.BIOS Version 11 nevertheless has this problem (was OEM on the board when I purchased it).I dunno what happened, but my Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 is more than two years old, has been overclocked, and is nonetheless stable. In no way had 1 concern with it. No random reboots, no fails on POST, absolutely nothing. This board ought to be a fluke, and it won't shy me away from Gigabyte, but it may be a good idea to wait till Gigabyte sorts these boards out, or wait till Intel fixes their 6-series chips and get an LGA1155 deal.
