The layout of the board is excellent. (The initially slot is a PCI x1 which is all but unusable, but this is not the fault of Gigabyte). I utilized 3x4GB Mushkin memory (which is not listed on their internet site) and it worked great. I am utilizing ARECA 1210 for challenging drives, so I can't speak to the SATA connections for tough drives. The one I'm utilizing for a CD/DVD drives works just good. (No a lot more IDE - wohoo!) The board just worked proper out of the gate and I couldn't be happier. Effortless to overclock utilizing their software program, but at the moment, I'm not undertaking this. None at the moment.

Installed and works best(been about 2 weeks now). I noticed there was some audio problems with this board by the two reviews below on the list and I haven't ran into it but as soon as. Either my MP3 was messed up or something. Haven't got the challenge given that. I also used updated audio drivers also immediately after that occurred so that may possibly have been the difficulty. Board works how it really should :) Definitely no con's other than the Front Panel Audio placement. Its my error though because I ought to have looked for that but I never use a mic or headphones so It's no biggy to me honestly. Not going to mark points off mainly because of my error of not looking initially. all in all its good. Good solid board.

Fast with 4GB of RAM Had concerns getting it to perform 100%. Board posted and showed only 4GB of the 6GB installed RAM. Also intially ran the 1600MHZ memory at 1066. Adjusted voltages and timing and got the memory running at the suitable speed. By no means could get it to recognize all 6GB. Checked the sticks one at a time and ran MEMTEST to verify memory superior. Lastly narrowed it down to a possibly a dead memory slot or the memory controller on the CPU not producing superior contact. Seems that others have had problems with dead slots and bent CPU socket pins.Wasted too significantly time chasing the problem and then had to RMA the board. Wish they would put an adapter for the front ports in the box.

Great budget motherboard. I do get the HD Audio pop up also, but it's such a smaller inconvenience that it doesn't bother me too considerably. When I purchased this board for this cost, I knew specifically what I was finding, and not what I was acquiring.

Gorgeous Board, Works exactly as intended. After two days this board would not boot from my Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB Drive.Rebuilt the PC, and it worked for 2 days.Rebuilt once again, Then it did not recognize the drive at all.Sent the Drive back to WD, immediately after swearing I'd never ever get another WD product again (my sincere appologies Wester Digital - read on).New Drive recieved, rebuilt once again.2 days later, you got it, no drive identified.Sent in motherboard, beyond 30 days clearly, Gigabyte graciously sent me an additional drive ( I say graciously due to the fact it shipped out and arrived on Christmas eve).Replaced the board, and get this.. does not recognize the drive at all!Now I'm losing my mind and decide to stop messing with the PC for a day or 2 and immediately after explaining it to a coworker, he says "did Gigabyte replace the SATA cables?"I practically smacked myself in the head, Duh!Went property that night and replaced the baby-blue sata cable that Gigabyte shipped with, with an older 1 and the problem is fixed. Generally attempt replacing the SATA cables 1st.Would have saved me 2 RMAs and two weeks worth of waiting.*That'll by no means happen once more.

Price, colors, nice layout and feature rich. Never truly worked. Board posted and showed only 4GB of the 6GB installed RAM. Also intially ran the 1600MHZ memory at 1066. Adjusted voltages and timing and got the memory running at the appropriate speed. By no means could get it to recognize all 6GB. Checked the sticks 1 at a time and ran MEMTEST to verify memory superior. Finally narrowed it down to a dead memory slot. Seems that other people have had problems with dead slots and bent CPU socket pins.Wasted too considerably time chasing the difficulty and then had to return the board. I have built nicely over thirty systems in the last two years based on Phenom II and Core2 Quad processors and the vast majority have been built about Gigabyte boards. Up to this point I have had a fantastic encounter with them. Regrettably immediately after my encounter with this one and the reading I did on different tech forums I decided to steer away from Gigabyte for my i7 construct.

GIGABYTE GA-X58-USB3 ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: No SATA 3.0

Pros: LGA 13666 Slots of Ram D:USB 3.0
Comment:
This is probably one of cheapest LGA 1366 boards for Gigabyte. I love it because it was really cheap and works with Hackintosh. It has all the great jam packed features of any other Gigabyte board but not SATA 3.0. Kinda a downfall, but with Sandy Bridge out, just get the LGA 1335 (am I right?) when it comes out.
