GIGABYTE GeForce GT 240 GV-N240D5-512I Video Card
Comment:
Nice searching card, seems like solidly built. Incredibly sub-par performance, overheats easily, runs Considerably slower than the 9500GT I'm writing this evaluation with. A Genuine disappointment here... I'm a large fan of Gigabyte merchandise and have been building systems for about 20 yrs.

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 240 GV-N240D5-512I Video Card
Comment:
This card dropped right in and comes with a decent GPU tweaking tool. MSI Afterburner is far better, but this works fine (basically identical, except with the included GUI, you can't control fan speed). I get great frames and it did properly in furmark 1.7 without overclocking it at all (ㅠ frames with 4x MSAA on). i'm going to overclock it as soon as i require to, i tested it at 630 Mhz GPU and 1462 shader with a 100Mhz bump to the memory and it was quite stable, temps only went up a little. It'd be safe to keep it there, but i dont want to yet. Also got it for half off when it was a shell shocker. can't beat it. newegg packaging and shipping rocks. i wasn't mistakenly sent two. purchase this card if you need to have a excellent spending budget one, with the ddr5 it genuinely is swift, no reason to buy a 1gb card at all, and the fact that it has all three outputs on it (the HDMI audio functions perfectly with my setup on a gigabyte 785-ud2h mobo) and it fits in my cooler master 690 tower with tons of room to spare.

Fantastic Card. Worked correct out of the box. Bought this card to replace my GeForce 9800 GT 512MB. As stated no concerns coming out of the box and tested it and it works great. In reality Windows 7 Ultimate detected that my graphics driver was missing and it reinstalled it, but I went back through and double checked that it was the newest version and it was. the card runs good. None....it works good. For the one who had the Dell Q6600 Quad processor, I am sorry that this card did not perform for you. I would look into upgrading to Windows 7. Double check the motherboard on your laptop. Some desktops do need that the on-board graphics card stay enable. I have located this out from the past when operating with a Dell personal computer and other branded computers. you should have been able to uninstall the drivers, and then if needed be, disable the on-board graphics by means of the bios only.

Low temperature, low power requirement. I have a HP m9300t case which does not have excellent air flow. Already burned two 9800GT 1GB card, with the later 1 getting low power version without having added PCI energy connection. The temperature is causing method stability and killing the card immediately after 1 or much less than a year of usage. The temperature of 9800GT in my case range from 65C idle to 85C. No matter how I add case fan, just does assist. With this GT240 card from Gigabyte, lastly can take pleasure in idle temp of 50C or lower. The load temp reached 75C initially, but I identified that by getting the side panel half open, I can keep the load temp at below 65C. This open side panel trick does not perform for my prior 9800GT cards, they generally go as high as 80+. I guess this is due to the fact the absolute amount of heat generated by GT240 is considerably lower than 9800GT. Would adore it to consist of much more accessories or games, but most do not consist of these anyway. Some reviewer said the card is loud. Yes it is loud but only when the fan is at full speed, which only take place at BIOS boot, or the temperature get very high - much more than 80C. That's not simple to reach as long as you have a case with excellent air flow.

Uncomplicated install on Windows 7. Wonderful HDMI at 1080p Installed in my Media Server so it is just a small too laud but not poor. Had to download new drivers. Could have come on the install CD based on the dates Actually wanted this to use with Linux XBMC but have concerns with sound over HDMI. I do not feel it is the card I think it is the drivers. Nvidia drivers stink. For any person wanting to use this for Linux and HDMI don't bother.

Good card, low power consumption, drivers work properly, all the suitable outputs (HDMI, DVI, d-sub) none yet This was purchased to replace an 8800 GT and it is significantly quicker, lower energy, and quieter

Pretty low price, HDMI, DVI, and VGA ports, not too big, runs quiet and cool. None contemplating the cost Bought this to replace my 9500GT on my HTPC. Not confident how well the HDMI works mainly because I use DVI (same resolution, less costly cable). Running W7 64-bit and have noticed that my Blu-Rays appear a small additional crisp and smooth and Aero is additional responsive as properly. I don't play games on PC, so I can't comment on that aspect of this card, but this card is prefect for an HTPC and it won't break the bank.

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 240 GV-N240D5-512I Video Card

easy to install.cool, quiet,no external energy.GDDR5* slow.expensive compared to efficiency. *the GDDR5 is crippled 128 bit which = gddr3 256 bit. not to mention gddr3 is more affordable.has much less performance then my 8800gt, which i purchased nearly 2 years ago for 85$. this i purchased for 65$. the performance is about 15% much less then the 8800gt and that was created on old 90nm tech.when i buy a card, i would assume that 2 years later, a different card at the same price would be faster....or 20%slower. poor deal, bad card and the truth that soon after newer technologies, they nonetheless use 96 stream processors of old technologies is stupid. but wanting 70$ for this ahead of delivery is even worse. if this were 40$, itd be an awesome card.

GDDR5 for below ๛Quiet GPUGreat for fundamental-intermediate HTPC, very good HDCP support I guess, if you have no motherboard space except for a thin PCI-E card and that's all, you'll have to be careful, the card is not wafer thin, it's got double matchbox-sized thickness. This card is phenomenal for the cost. Some reviewers have mentioned noise, this is no longer an concern if you use either the newest drivers on Gigabyte's web site, or far better yet, the latest official ForceWare drivers for your particular OS. It eliminates the noise issue, or at least cuts it down to a perfectly acceptable level, which exists employing the default drivers on the CD in the retail box.If you have a lot less than a GDDR5 GPU, (I was working with a DDR2 GPU, also from Newegg) it makes a phenomenal distinction. Loading background programs, gaming, browsing, the works (especially watching video!). Maybe it's not excellent sufficient for the most recent newest games, but this isn't the card for that anyway.Properly done Gigabyte and Newegg for such a excellent item at a great worth.

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 240 GV-N240D5-512I Video Card

Plays most contemporary games at high settings making use of really low watts. Using mine on a 305watt stock dell power supply. Idle watt usage is around 15. Bang for the buck at ์ soon after rebate is great. Stock fan is a bit large. Had to squeeze it into my Dell 521 against a nearby heatsink as it takes up a bit a lot more space than 1 slot. But its not so much a con as its a "heads up" ...the fan cools wonderful and is incredibly quiet compared to my prior 8600gt. This card with the GDDR5 memory will get you performance close to the 9800񵅰gt range. It' not a powerhouse ideal gaming card but it gets you close for a steal of a cost.Dell e521Athlon 64 X2 3800GT 240 512MB GDDR53 Gb 533 DDR2305 watt p/sWin XP

Low price & great performanceGreat constructionWorks quite effectively with a 450 watt energy supplyHDMI port connects directly to 1080P LCD TvHandles 1080P flawlessly Takes two slots (PCIe and one PCI) mainly because of huge fan -- but most cards do anyway.Ditch the drivers on the CD and go to their internet web page and download the latest -- drivers on CD failed to install appropriately, as I expected. Challenging to beat the price/performance ratio of your putting together a media box. (Loaded BOXEE and it plays all the content wonderfully.)
