GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5770 GV-R577SO-1GD Video Card
Comment:
Purchased a single discounted which makes this card a sturdy value even stronger. Cooling technique allows for larger headroom to overclock. Temps stays fairly low even below the heaviest of loads which is a testament to the cooling setup implemented on this card. Drivers that came with the card had troubles installing causing a blue screen in the middle of the install. Latest drivers and CCC from ATI operates perfectly. A solid mid-range card thats in a position to do it all. Good value. It was a toss up involving this card and Gigabytes latest 6850 item. So far no regrets deciding on the lower priced 5770. Top quality and performance exceeded my expectations and I would advocate this to my good friends.

Only essential 1 6pin energy cord as compared to the two that my 8800gtx required. Other than that, this issue is pretty excellent. I'd recommend this to my buds any day. Not genuinely a con for the card, more a brain fart on my finish. I totaly forgot that you don't get pixel and vertex shader 4 unless you have windows Vistaǝ which I have in a box on my desk, but it's waiting for the rest of my new method. So back in the stone age of XP is exactly where this bud is sitting, not getting in a position to use it's complete potential but, but I nonetheless expected it from it... even even though it was impossible... to my expertise. Numbers wise, this factor is a beast, I just can't wait to get my new compy up and running to give this new toy a time to shine much more so.

Great graphics and stabilityReally quietFinest bang for the buck with GDDR5 None But I have had this card considering that I built my method in Aug 2010. Haven't had a single issue but, and this card handles just about every game I have bought. Star wars II the force unleashed, singularity, Undesirable Corporation 2, Arma 2, and so on. No issues at all. So impressed I'm obtaining a second 1 to crossfire.

Stays reasonably cool, runs fine in Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro, really few problems so far. Non truly. I upgraded to this from a 3850 when I transitioned to Windows 7. The method dual boots between XP and 7, and this card operates fine in each. I see some artifacts when moving a graphic in Corel Photo Paint or Draw and did have some in Windows 7 following playing some random game. The former is tolerable and the latter has not recurred. Use the most current drivers from AMD/ATI.I don't play a lot of games, but in graphical applications this card is provides far more than enough horsepower. I knew it was overkill when I bought it, but at the cost it was a decent value (assuming I get the rebate). Scores a 7.four in the WEI.

Extremely high-quality elements and design (GIGABYTE Gauntlet, Ultra Sturdy VGA); High-good quality cooling Ɣ copper heatpipes, 80 mm fan); High-performance (for price-range) Radeon HD 5770 GPU with 1 GB GDDR5; Overclocked 10%+ out of box; Supports DirectX 11; 3-year warranty. Catalyst Control Panel (not tweaking friendly, lacks options); Doesn't have the new AMD Radeon badge (or, as a Pro: One of the final ATI badged GPUs); Can't run just about every game on ULTRA settings at 100 FPS. Nice cooling and temperatures out of box: Mine idles at 40 deg C (ㅛ% fan) and games at 60-65 deg C (ㅾ% fan), whilst remaining pretty quiet. Replaced an aging 8800 GTS 512 MB, I'm now completely onto the AMD (and GIGABYTE) bandwagon for at least a handful of years!

Bought this card someplace about a month ago. I have to say that for 贶 it wasn't a negative card to buy. I handle to play Fallout New Vegas on high settings on a 1080 tv with the HDMI hook up. Looks amazing (even even though the game is glitchy as hell) I've also ran borderlands and L4D2 on the card and had no complications.A lot superior than my 8800GTX (which apparently on toms hardware is rated just below the 5770) It doesn't appear as cool as some of the other cards? And the fan enclosure looks (visually) kinda wimpy but appears to be rock solid for now. (I read that the heatsink and fan kinda just desoldered itself and fell off on somebody else's assessment.) Very good get if you're going low cost. 1st ATI card I've had in a although and I'm hoping it wont disappoint.

Comment:
Nicely this is a somewhat confusing review to write, due to the fact i LOVED this card until "it" happened. It was OCing like a beast and was operating all of my games nicely at maxed out settings. Acquiring 60 fps easily on wow and making me extremely happy. Its very cost-effective as well! I was truly loving this card until in the middle of a wow session my frame rate all of a sudden dropped, closely followed by an odd noise coming from my case. Then I srarted to smell burning plastic, so i shut every thing down and looked for the difficulty. The fan had come off and was grating against the side of the casing..... I was very disappointed in this fluke, but I am an optimist so i am going to just get a different and hope that this 1 was just a fluke.

Runs a lot cooler than my prior card, 񢣂 which idled at 60c) This will idle at 37-40c and full load has gotten it up to 54c.Plays almost any game at max settings with good frame rate, running 1920x1080 60hz. (BFBC2, Metro 2033, Borderlands, Far Cry two, Arma II, Lost Planet Extreme Conditions, GRiD)Its comparatively quiet, I had no difficulties with the sound of it.Its a very visually appealing card, it looks wonderful in my case. I actually dislike the placement of the HDMI port on these cards, both of my instances have a slight hinge that prevents a stable connection from the port. I may modify my case to fix this. The card I received had a poor DVI port, I employed unique cables, monitors, adapters and the challenge persisted with just the port. I requested an RMA and are at present waiting for the replacement to ship. Was disappointed to have it for less than a month and have to spend ů to purchase a shipping label. I was hoping for that to be covered for at least the 1st 30 days.Thats not worth taking off an Egg although, there will be a few negative cards every single now and then. Comment:
I purchased this card as a upgrade going from a BFG 8500GT. It's a fantastic card for the cost, and I'm a large fan of Gigabyte as they make durable equipment, this card is built to final! I have generally had excellent luck operating Gigabyte equipment, and this is no exception. I immediately noticed a enormous difference in fps and general load occasions . Now I run Starcraft two and Negative Business 2 on the highest settings no lag no situation. I do wish it was dressed a small nicer (all copper heatsink, 2 fans, complete rear exhaust) as this could help dissipate a lot more heat.Doesn't come with a free of charge Megan Fox, and wont make me sandwiches either =(Also you might require to boost your case depending on its airflow. Mine does idle a bit increased than other individuals claim(About 45c) and when its below load it can get up to 65c-70c which might cause your method to shut down. I assume this is a problem with possessing an older case with poor airflow.I'm buying a newer "Cooler Master CM690 II Standard" to enhance airflow, we will see if that lowers my card temps.

Superb cooler. Purchased 2 and running in crossfire on a FX890 MB. Appear at the Xfire evaluations, 2X5770 = 5870.5870 may or may possibly not fit in a mid tower case which I prefer. The 5770 is alot shorter. Outstanding good quality. Not a con.Not alot of overclocking overhead given that this is one of the highest factory overclocks out there鿄mhz). All the excellent cards with 5770 based GPU's will not go a lot beyond 950mhz stable at reference core voltage anyway. The fan wire could have been developed to be much better hidden. Exceptional card.

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5770 GV-R577SO-1GD Video Card
Comment:
Many 5770s in crossfire was the perfect upgrade path for my slew of AMD based systems. This card runs cool and quiet beneath load, and performs effectively. Guess what? I RMA'd for a fermi 460, quite a lot against my will and right after a lot techno time wasting. My extremely stable systems just ARENT with this card. ASUS M4A785-M, M3A78, M3A78-T all behave similarly. Crashes with grey screen or to desktop on practically all my modern games (except crysis). Poor card? I guess so. Mine also produced a whining noise beneath load, which is a poor sign for longevity. BUT: google 񔚪 GSOD" (Grey Screen Of Death) and start out reading. There is this challenge around the 5xxx cards that is hitting alot of people and isnt getting fixed. It genuinely acts like a driver challenge to me, but there was a hotfix for the ten.1 driver, and its now driver ten.9 and the dilemma persists. A TON of "solutions" and theories are out there except from AMD. Its too typical to ignore (except on purpose)... Search for the word "grey" or "GSOD" in a random sampling of 5770 and other 5xxx reviews right right here on Newegg.... Yeah. Makes you kinda nervous doesnt it? I actually wanted to really like this card, but this GSOD issue... This card is truly properly produced and created, and I have had good luck with MSI and AMD. In trying to isolate the dilemma, although, I became convinced that I would never get the stability I demand with all 5xxx cards in my systems. Pity. This affects my mobo purchases, etc. Going nVidia is no little selection for me. But, hey, probably I just got a negative card, right? Or they'll fix the drivers anytime now? From what I can research, I just ain't prepared to roll the dice. Bye bye AMD technique. Bummer. Manufacturer Response:Dear Buyer,Thank you for your comments. It performs... came with every thing pictured and to precise specs. But honestly, it's hard to decide the good aspects of this card when the negatives are so glaring... I would say the 1 saving aspect of this card is that it is cheap. Temperature range is a safe 30 to 50c. It also appears nicely built if not dangerously heavy. But i'll let that be my intro into the cons.... Imbalanced/Heavy - I realize most modern day cards are about this weight, but when its secured in two slots and mounted in a PCIe bus it nonetheless sags. I expect thermal movement across the PCB alternating from heavy processing(hot) to idle(cold) in conjunction with the weight and sag of the card will lead at some point to a terminal failure. Unimpressive efficiency - I'll admit I have an regrettably low tolerance for sub 50-60fps performance, but when persons claim to be in a position to "Play every little thing at ULTRA HIGH with 8xAA and 16xAF at the highest resolution!" with this card, they might not be lying, exactly, they just are in a position to appreciate it at a lesser level of efficiency for the trade off of viewable area and higher texture res ect..Overenthusiastic and misleading manufacturer claims - For example, its printed on the product box "TOP Efficiency" and "INSANE SPEED". I don't usually take phrases like these literally, but following playing many games, it just sounds insulting and gimmicky. ARMA II - 2008 - Settings "High" (One step beneath Ultra High) 20-40 fps at 1600x900 2x AA 2x AF, Shadows medium. Encountered stuttering and continually uneven frame rates (Enormous disappointment.)Empire: Total War - 2009 - Settings "Custom" 30-45fps 1280x768 2x AA Trilinear! Yeah its 128bit and yeah its a 5770, but for 150 dollars the truth as I see it is, as rational consumers we are just perpetually locked in this money grubbing cycle till individuals cease paying 軸 - ũ,200 for a single component to gratify their identity complicated.AMD x3 Rana2Gb DDR2 Muskin Silver 866 Dual channelGigabyte ATI 5770 "Super" Overclock Edition at stock 900 core 1200 ram750w Energy supplySept. 2010 Cata

Superior than most other ATI Radeon HD 5770s. Makes use of 3 heat pipes in addition to a fan for cooling. Really quiet. If you're an enthusiast, then spend a ton of cash on the 5870 or 5970. If you're not *quite* an enthusiast, but you nonetheless want some awesome gaming overall performance, get this card. It idles at about 40 C for me, then gets hot through gaming (maxes out at 75 C) but I have a low-cost case with weak cooling. Chances are you have a greater computer case than I do with a front cooling fan. Just Result in 2 runs at 1680x1050 with actually Every thing else maxed out (including 8xAA, 16xFF) at about 50 FPS, and by no means goes below 30 FPS. It is an absolutely stunning game.

This card runs each and every game that I personal really properly. The most hard game to play WAS BFBC2 (see cons). For this cost range you wont locate a superior value. This is not really a con, more so just information if your looking to acquire this card. When I fist purchased this card I was running it with an AMD 3.two regor dual core. Even with that CPU it ran games really effectively. It did have serious problems with BFBC2 nevertheless. It would consistently skip, lag, and take forever to load maps. I couldnt run the game on anything at all larger then medium settings. I not too long ago bought an Athlon II X3 three.two (Unlocked the forth core) and it made a world of difference. I can now run it with every thing turned up all the way on 1920x1080 40-60fps࿈ when its actually action packed). There is absolutely nothing wrong with this card for the price tag range its in. Just do not be a dummy like me and assume that a 3.two dual core will not bottle neck it.

Works great when I got one that was not defective. The very first card arrived with the fan hanging from the card and all three screws loose in the bag. All 3 holes in the heat sink had been stripped out, so I had no selection but to return and reorder. As generally, Newegg return policy was effortless and prompt. This fan is very light, and it is unlikely that a blow in shipment caused this issue. It is much more most likely that the screw holes had been stripped in assembly or incorrectly threaded in the initial spot.

Rapidly. MW 1 and two highest settings, and handles Windows 7 EI at 7.five. Unbelievable card. The Heatsink keeps the card very cold, at a solid 40C regardless of power consumption. although on desktop, GPU takes on aver 10 watts to run, so extremely effective. OC tools that come with it make it super simple to OC. Fan on the GPU is super quiet, can't even hear it. Incredible card. None. Trying to see if I can hybrid crossfire with my onboard graphics, but I'm not sure that i see significantly of a require. Or that it would even make much of a distinction. This card is quickly and comes with all the possibilities imaginable. And it's DX11 compatible. I spent a lengthy time attempting to make a decision if i wanted a 4770 or a 5770 and this was the better option. The 4770 is just a small less expensive, but the benchmarks had been substantially superior with the 5770, and add in ATeyefinity and DX11. Sold. It's a excellent card and I would suggest any individual on a spending budget get one particular. Or even if you just want a medium priced pc. Power/Price/FPS is just as well high to ignore.
