Chose this higher-price element following reading positive critiques--They were proper! This cable installed easily, looks quite very good. Windows customers remember to uninstall prior printer driver if employing this cable on similar printer, just different connection! None at all. Techs: I initially thought I'd see if I could just transform my printer's connection kind below Port Tab, but that approach didn't work, requiring me to reboot ahead of it would completely and effectively install (I tested it with an older HP DeskJet 722C, our favorite printer, which installs automatically below XP).You could in all probability just plug'n'play beneath the simplest conditions if you didn't try it the 'hard way' first.

Few weekends ago, I picked up an old HP laser printer (Laserjet 2100) at a yard sale. The seller mentioned he could not get it to work on Vista. hmmmm... ??Thirty bucks for the printer ten bucks for this cable.. BINGO. This cable is wonderful. Functions on both my XP and Vista laptops. Dont't be fooled by the low cost. This cable is high good quality. its not cost-free.... 1. turn on Pc2. turn off printer3. connect cable to printer and then to Computerfour. cable is auto detected and installedfive. reboot Computer6. last step, turn on the Printer exactly where windows detects and installs everything beautifully

Very good value. It works with my 64-bit vista method. No difficulties with it thus far. The female parallel connector felt incredibly light and inexpensive. I wonder how durable it basically it. Also, my printer did not respond when the cable was plugged into specific USB ports. I have not narrowed down the result in yet, but I suspect that the USB port has to be powered in order for the cable to operate. Have not checked that out yet, though. I'm content with it.

Wonderful, Works wonderful and loaded proper up in Vista 64 working with Dell XPS 730x. Was worried it wouldn't work like all the other issues I have had with Vista 64 Bit. Utilised it on an old HP 5000n laser printer that's about 10 years old. Value was also nice. None at all

Plug it into the printer, plug the USB into the computer and it's a done deal. Didn't come with an attractive young lady to help install it I had to assign the printer to a USB port to get it to work.It had been assigned the typical LPT1 port, but that doesn't work with this adapter. No biggie. It all functions just fine when you set it up proper.

I purchased a mobo (Intel) with no parallel port but nonetheless had cartridges left for my parallel printer, so I plugged this small cable in between the usb port and my printer and installed the parallel drivers and it worked immediately. Cable a lot lengthy sufficient too. I've had no negative expertise. Appears like each time I construct a new program I wind up having to back-engineer something to get points the way I want them. Nice to have some thing so affordable and simple that works perfectly.

Wonderful cable! I had bought one more brand, which didn't perform at all with an old Zebra Label printer. This cable worked instantly, with no configuration problems. The users manual, though fundamental, is much more than sufficient for most utilizes, and is a step above the other brand I bought. Advised. None.

Plug and go. Attached a Dell D630 Latitude to a HP 4000 and it works. What much more requirements to be said. Tougher to get the 3 different flavors of HP4000 to show up making use of the USB/Parallel interface. That should be additional of a difficulty with the drivers and not the cable. Wouldn't have mentioned it but apparently we have to say some as a con. Suggest to other people.

It definitely does work Didn't function with certain printer drivers that did function with the real parallel port. I got this adapter for a buddy's laptop that doesn't have a parallel port. When I got it in the mail, I tested it with my own setup, a Windows 2000 machine and an HP Laserjet 2100 printer, which does not have a USB port. I could print fine with the official drivers for the 2100. Nevertheless, because I also have a Laserjet 2200, I frequently use those drivers to print on the 2100. This is no dilemma when using a normal parallel cable. With the adapter, the 2200's PCL five driver worked fine, but the PCL 6 and Postscript drivers would fail quickly, with a "Cancel or Retry" error message from Windows.Due to the fact the official drivers do work, I can't complain too much, and my overall expectations were exceeded, since I had some doubts about an inexpensive adapter like this.

I ordered this and sent it to my parents ࿦'s and not very technical at all) directly, I was able to speak them through and get it to function. None Worked with a new build Vista 32 bit machine. Printer not recognized right away. Add the printer manually to port USB001, not LPT1 and you're good to go. Length is 6 feet.

The print function worked. The other all-in-one functions (scan, fax, copy) did not function. I had a new pc that didn't have a parallel port, so tried this converter with an HP T45 all-in-1. The printer driver was installed automatically, the fax driver had to be installed manually, but even soon after that the fax, scan, and copy functions didn't function.
