Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:CPU voltage seems to me a little erratic fluctuating from 1.3xv to 1.42x volts stock clocks 965BE.

Pros:Sata 3/ USB 3.0 / PCIE 16 on 2 slots hence FX.
Comment:
I'm not overly impressed with the EFI bios but all boards have them now.The sound is fairly good.Psu is 850w seasonic and the mobo is a direct swap out of MA790X-UD4 which had stable cpu volts so I don't believe the cpu volt fluctuation is connected to the psu.I'd give it a 3 1/2 star but can't so it'll get a 3 based on it isn't getting a 4 even with a $105 sticker price.

Cons:None so far!

Pros:- Good layout- USB 3- ESata straight from the back panel
Comment:
Very satisfied with this motherboard. Always been with Gigabyte motherboards and I never regret my choice.Upgraded my MA-790X-UD4P with this to get SATA3, DDR3 and USB3 natively and don't regret it. My "old" 790x-ud4p still working perfectly and have been moved into my HTPC.So far, Gigabyte never disappoint me and I can already say that my next motherboard will still be a Gigabyte. The UEFI BIOS is very usefull, lot of setting for overclocking.

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:uefi(not really, just not used to it)

Pros:Looks, price, functionality
Comment:
This is a good motherboard! This is the first motherboard i have gotten from Gigabyte, all the other boards i have gotten have been asus. This motherboard has everything you will need for a very reasonable price. it also looks amazing with its black finish. i found there to be lots of space for your cards, aftermarket coolers, and memory. Everything is where it should be and everything fits perfectly. This board also handled overclocking very well, with lots of extra power when you need it. The only trouble i had was with the new uefi, because i am just not used to gigabyte's bios. All in all i would recommend to a friend, good board, good look, and amazing price.

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:- 64 bit Linux doesn't work out of the box (see summary for a fix)

Pros:- Lots of features for the price (when on sale w/ rebate)- Easy to use setup / Q-Flash- 8 USB2 ports + 3 internal connectors- 2 eSATA ports
Comment:
Good quality motherboard for a decent price. However, if I tried to install Ubuntu 64-bit, USB2 and LAN did not work (rev. 3.0). The solution was to enable the IOMMU Controller in the "Peripherals" page in setup.Source: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2114055

Cons:None

Pros:Price, feature set, all black colour scheme
Comment:
This great looking all-black 990FX board is not only priced quite low for its class but it is also a great board for overclocking.GUI bios is very nice, I/O is standard, and the PCI-E lanes allow for both crossfire & SLI configurations to be installed along side other add-in cards with no problem.

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:Will not work with Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 (64 bit). I did not try 32 bit. I did not try an older Ubuntu. Tried for almost two weeks to get the network card working with no success in Ubuntu.

Pros:Nice Looking board. Windows 7 installed easily but needed driver disk to get everything up and running. Default Windows drivers were just barely enough to get it setup to allow the install of the driver disk.
Comment:
Out of box only the two USB 3.0 ports worked with the Ubuntu default drivers. I never did get the network working, even after trying the multitude of forum postings. I believe something has been changed in this rev 3 version that has broken what was working for the older revs. I eventually returned the board and purchased an Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 instead which Ubuntu installed perfectly on the first try.If you want it for windows, it is great. If you want it for Ubuntu, stay away from it like the plague.

Cons:None really

Pros:Great board with great features, definitely feels "ultra durable" when installing components onto it. Will definitely be buying another gigabyte board when i build an intel system early next year.
Comment:
-FX-8350 is supported which is awesome by the way-Was able to successfully boot Windows 7 from a 4GB sanDisk flash drive-Durable ( I kept on screwing up with the stand-offs and was afraid that I had broken/scratched the board but apparently I didn't)

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:NorthBridge runs very hot. The audio is horrible with static.

Pros:Looks great, lots of Bios features.
Comment:
My system wouldn't run stable at all; tried 4 different versions of linux. I had installed 5 fans in the box to start with but it was still running hot. Board died after 3 weeks, currently it's in California on an RMA. $45 for shipping out of my pocket. There is no way to find out the status of the RMA on Gigabytes' website, and it's long-distance to call them as there isn't a 1-800 number either. I have always liked Gigabyte boards, but I'm seriously thinking of just writing this one off and getting an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0. The Asus looks like it has way more features than this Gigabyte for the same price. My only wish is that I had bought it at NCIX with the in-house warranty. I won't be buying anything from Amazon again; they are no help with RMA's after 30 days.

Pros:Easy to navigate BIOSClear CMOS pins for easy clearing of CMOS
Comment:
3 words... Loading Operating System. I seriously don't know what is with this board, but ever since I installed a RAID array, it would always, and I mean every time I booted it, get stuck at the black screen that says "Loading Operating System". So I tried clearing my RAID array, and CMOS, but to no avail. It just gets stuck that black screen. Tried running with no SATA ports plugged in, and it still goes to that screen, even though there's no OS to load. This was my first Gigabyte board, and will be my very last.Posted 3 stars, but I had to since I ordered it in store, and I don't have an order ID. Stay away from this board.

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:No IDE support and there is 3 rev. of this mobo I got rev 1.1 and the rev status is up to 1.2. Be careful which board you have because the drivers are different. A bit more work to it. Not too many fan slots and poorly placed. I had to get extenders for the cables.

Pros:Always Great quality products from Gigabyte. Black PCB,SLI support,AM3+, and the 990FX Chipset.
Comment:
Not a bad board all together but be careful of the cons. Never had a problem from gigabyte. Manual was very well done and install was a breeze if you have a general knowledge of electrics.

I purchased this motherboard to replace my old Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 Motherboard that I bought 2 years ago. I am running a AMD Phenom II X6 1045T CPU with the new Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard. I currently have the cpu overclocked from the stock 2.7ghz to 3.2Ghz. Great overclocking features with this motherboard. Their are 2 of these boards available at NCIX the UD3 blue PCB, and the UD3 with a black PCB, I paid the little extra for the black version, and it was worth it. I would highly recommend this motherboard to anyone looking for a High Quality motherboard at a decent price.

Pros:Great Price for Dual SLI/Crossfire compatibility990FX ChipsetSATA3 and USB 3.0
Comment:
I bought this with an AMD FX-8150, 2 - 2x4 Mushkin Blackline kits, OCZ Agility 240GB SSD etcSo Far everything has worked out great. Recognized the FX right away no problem, no BIOS update  needed. Also was able to load the XMP profile from the Mushkin Ram no problem set to 1600MHZ and auto set the voltages. The ability to use either ATI or Nvidia cards in SLI/Crossfire is a really nice touch, and one of the reasons I chose this case. One little thing to note. If you own an Antec 300 like mine or any case with USB and Audio ports on the top of the case, the audio header on this mobo is located right on the bottom of the MoBo. This means, for me, I have to route the cable straight across my case over my video cards.Overall, this case is a great buy, and, as with all the other Gigabyte boards i have purchased, I highly recommend it.

I put a fx4100 quad core in it and installed the latest Gigabyte drivers from thier site and everything works just fine! I used it as gaming /HTPC. It has 8 gigs of Kingston Hyper X ram 2 EVGA 460ti's, a tower cooler with noctua fans. I'm kinda still working on this comp as I've been puting all the parts into an old 1932 Victor Radio cabinet that I got. Realy like the board though , Going to move win7 OP to a new SSD I just ordered. Very happy with purchase , Great all around Mobo!
