Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:Slow shipping but that is very unusual for NCIX.
Pros:Great board. Comment:
I followed the board approved hardware and had no conflicts of any kind. Love it, looking foward to mucking around with all her abilities. It is a full size board, fits my case perfect but my old board had bout 3 inch clearence from the bottom of the case so I would check your measurments before you buy. |

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:Didn't buy from NCIX.com :(
Pros:Price/Feature & Performance Ratio Comment:
Excellent board for budget power build. Bulldozer ready, dual PCI-E x16 with both Crossfire & SLI support. BIOS is easy to get around and to OC with. Got my Phenom II x4 955 BE to 3.825ghz rock solid with additional 10% OC to NB and HT. Max Load Temps are modestly low in my CM 690 II adv. case never going over 53*C for CPU & 72*C GPU using Prime95 & Furmark at the same time for several hours. GPU is an XFX 6850 OC'd to 875mhz core, 1250mhz membus. My other choice was the ASUS Sabertooth but for $40 more you really only get 2 extra SATA2 ports and a buggy BIOS that your mouse doesn't always work in...VERY IMPORTANT!!! First thing you should do out of the box with this is flash to the most recent BIOS version from the Gigabyte website (F4 when I did so). I then set my main SATA ports to AHCI mode BEFORE installing my OS (Win7x64) to avoid annoying reg fix later on. I also installed the Marvell AHCI drivers from the website and NOT the AMD AHCI drivers (apparently these still have bugs). Hotswap works like a charm on both eSATA and the SATA dock on my case. Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:The BIOS and software suite had a lot of glitches. First boot okay. The 2nd boot was a no-boot. May be related to the old Promise PCI card was was using. Much better after the BIOS update.
Pros:Looks good. No real complaints on the hardware. Comment:
The suite of software is very buggy in Windows 7 64-bit. I don't think I will be using any of it. Uninstall!!If I had a re-do I'd probably spend the same money on a MSI or ASUS board. |

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD990FX ATX AM3+ DDR3 4PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard
Cons:SATA plugs are in a weird position like many new mobos.
Pros:Stable under OC2 PCI-E at 16x... cheapest board currently to have that. Comment:
It runs cool and has a dual bios, so if you screw up while flashing you can always restore factory defaults. This is GREAT since it means you really can't break this motherboard.I have 16gb of 1333 ram and a Phenom II 965BE with zero problems. The SAME components failed to boot in an Asus mobo. I'm very happy I got this board instead. |

So I just built a computer for a friend with this motherboard. I bought it because it was part of a bundle with a 1090T.My friend does not plan to overclock so it does the job well. USB 3, Sata 6 are all bonuses. My main gripe with it is that it only has 3 fan plugin slots. One of which gets used up by the CPU fan. That leaves only 2 plugins for system fans. Had the Core 3000 case we choose not came with a fan controller we would have had no way to plug in all the fans in the case (which was 5 fans). The actual case has room for up to 7 fan slots. In fact most modern ATX cases have at least 6 or 7 fan slots in them. The lack of PWM fan headers on the motherboard almost forces you to buy a fan controller.Otherwise it is a fine motherboard that does the job. I have owned Gigabyte motherboards before and they do seem like quality products. The all black PCB and the matching greyish heat-syncs also make it look pretty good.
