Ideal for a Mac Pro where you slide the drive in. Way much better than how I rigged the last 1 with double sided tape. The adapter that came with my Intel SSD was useless. This 1 rocks. None that I can see. Possibly I'm very easily amused, but I loved how the two.5" drive fits into the adapter and locks into spot as you close it. No screws needed for that portion - super easy!

worked fine for six months failed immediately after six months. Challenging drive indicated failure(OCZ 60 GB). Removed from icy dock and connected directly; hard drive was ok.

None I didn't actually read what I was obtaining here (my fault), I just assumed it was a nice aluminum mounting bracket. But instead it puts another interface in between the SSD and MB, a horrible, horrible idea and terrible item. This absolutely will slow down your transfer speed. This item doesn't have 1 superior point, it's low cost plastic, encloses your SSD so it gets zero airflow and puts one more PCB interface and connector inbetween the SSD and MB. I got scammed, and cant' believe some persons are posting positive about this? Clearly a lot of persons who don't know what they are doing here.... don't trust user critiques.

Works great with my Intel 80 GB SSD. Feels solid and has very good airflow. I wish it had direct connect of the cables to the drive instead of through a pass-by way of. Seems like it need to price a bit less for what you get.

I bought the Silverstone SDP08 for eight bucks elsewhere and it handles TWO SSD drives at the exact same time, will not block airflow to the drives, and doesn't add a different interface to mix... and I nonetheless believe that eight bucks was a bit high-priced for a piece of metal with holes in it.I guess it's just capitalism at perform - but I'm already paying lots of cash for an SSD, don't assume that I'm going to spend ษ for a piece of metal to hold it in location.

I thought about getting a Patriot SSD enclosure from one more on the net retailer, but decided not to given that this Icy Dock seemed to do just the job for me, and due to the cost of the Patriot and it's two slots for SSDs. Possibly later in a year or two, I might think about to get 1 of those, but may well just go ahead and get an additional 1 of these, with a great SSD that is on sell.

Icy Dock worked perfectly from the get go. My SSD lined up perfectly in the dock, and the dock fit perfectly in my Antec case. Cost - never feels superior to have to shell out ฤ just for a mount Slick marketing of the name 'Icy Dock'. Heat really isn't an issue with my SSD, but I don't believe this dock would do anything to help heat disipation, due to the fact it's all plastic.

Ordered a pair of these for a pair of SSDs going into a desktop. Best fit - excellent construction. I wouldn't feel about mounting the drives without having it. Nothing Worth every single penny.

Fits the drive like a glove! It fit in my case perfect too. Was slightly tough to close soon after I loaded the drive. Not really a con though.

straightforward to install a ssd drive into a 3.five bay, has holes for ventilation, also doesn't hurt efficiency of the disk at all just micrometers larger than a normal hdd, creating it kinda challenging to put into the tool-less hdd mounts in my case, but a little bit of effort and forcing created it fit i was worried about losing performance mainly because of the interface but bench with and with no the dock and saw efficiency loss, so superior job icydock

Air vents, sturdy case, fit my OCZ Vertex perfectly, works. Did not fit my COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 case. Had to bend the slots for the tough drive to make it fit. Kinda pricey for what it truly is. It could of just been an problem with my case but they could of just made it slightly smaller. Obtaining it out is gonna be a discomfort.

Super simple to use: you just drop in the drive and close it up. Closing the leading causes the drive to slide into spot. Has some ventilation, but could in all probability use more. Gets the job performed with my 2.5" SSD.

Does what it says, just insert your SSD and install like any other tough drive. The pass by way of SATA port doesn't bottleneck, and you get throughput speeds wit your SSD. This is a lot better than using those mounting brackets Intel tries to stick you with when you buy their SSDs. None. The design claims to be properly ventilated, but it doesn't seriously seem that way. The minimal power consumption of most SSDs make this a moot point, as it's not going to really require crazy airflow for it to keep working at optimal conditions.

Basic and straightforward to use. I had a difficult time cramming it into the drive bay. It seems it's a hair wider than other drives. A little elbow grease did the trick although.

Makes the installation of an SSD a snap into a three.five" bay and keeps it cool. I wish the SATA connections had been sturdier. I was attaching the cables and virtually broke the connectors off the dock. They have extremely small support, but do hold together. Make positive you attach the cables directly in and you won't have any issues.

If you do not wish your 2.5" SATA drive hanging in the air inside the laptop or computer case with two screws, This is the proper product for you. if your motherboard doesn't support SSD, this icydock WILL NOT make the different either. Windows7 won't help either. other minor issues are some heats trapped inside the icydock unit. it was 35c without this icydock, and grow to be 39c which still look at a quite minor adjustments. I wouldn't be worried if the it is below 45c.

Makes the SSD immediately secure - The install is - literally seconds and the value of this unit is indispensable when compared to the loss of an SSD since of shear stupidity - just click... it's what you want. Absolutely NONE - Guard and shield your information and your drive unit. If you're a cheapy guy, go ahead and fumble around in your box with an high-priced SSD. Leaving that exposed to something is a risk. Generally keep in mind... you get what you pay for.

Sounded good. Does NOT fit my three.five" HDD bays, which I have 4, in my raidmax tower. It appears that normal HDDs are not entirely square and the makers of my case took that into account and made the bays a tiny bit too small.Have to bend back steel brackets to get it in, its silly because the enclosure won't fit by millimeters but merely attempting to install it into my pc is marring the icy dock, I am not positive if I can even return the factor now.
