My old AMD motherboard was gone. So I bought this with Biostar TH55 as the replacement. It performs really well. fast. The integrated GPU functions effectively, even for some standard 3D games! none none

I had been looking to upgrade from my E8400 for a though. I decided to give this guy the old college attempt, and am I impressed?? Yes. I was surprised to come across that my old machine, with above processor, four gigs Mushkin DDR2 1066 and a Saphire Radeon 4650 512MB, would be outdone with with this processor, six gigs DDR3 1600 and NO VIDEO CARD, and outperform it in every single rating except a single of windows 7 Ɩ.five 6.eight 4.six 6.2 five.9) vs Ɨ. six.9 5.two 5.9 5.9). Taking into consideration I place the process with each other from I3 and open box mobo, cheap energy provide and situation... extraordinary. Previously, I purchased a video card due to the fact I noticed a loss in performance whilst multitasking. The other day, I noticed that I had:Chrome with gmail and 6 'youtube' videos, skype, MATLAB (running stochastic algorithm), Excel, iTunes, and background software with no lag on any video with the above setup. for ??? Like a boss52 Celsius (not undesirable with stock cooler) For the price tag, there is none My buddy purchased an I7 laptop ƒ.four GHz I beleive) which only got .2 higher in CPU rating. Granted its laptop vs desktop, his was ~踰 more... decision? No.

Purchased as a bundle with the ASUS motherboard. Onboard graphics is quite outstanding for my new HTPC. Not to expensive. Stock heatsink/fan of program. My idle temp is somewhere about 29 - 32 C. Beneath load, such as ripping my DVD movie collection. temps shoot up to 60+ C. Alarm signals me of the high temp and I promptly cancel my rip. No BSOD. I strategy on replacing the CPU heatsink/fan soon.

Operates as intended, overclocks quickly with a bit of a voltage jump dual core, but whatever. Presently stable at 4.3 ghz with a 44x QPI @ 1.42vታx롒 bclock. CM hyper 212+ cooler with temps idling at 36-38. 62 max in prime95. The trick on this cpu seems to be underclocking the ram to 2Ɋ. Crashed at twoɌ, going to see how a lot larger I can get the bclock.

Dropped this into a GIGABYTE GA-H55-USB3. Worked with zero complications! Runs Windows 7 and other apps with no a hiccup in overall performance! Stock fan and heatsink is a joke, and shame on Intel for delivering such an incredible CPU but a lousy cooling solution! Pushing those plastic hooks down to hook them into the motherboard calls for more force than I thought, and most likely additional than other people have thought as properly. I gave up immediately after a number of attempts as I did not want to apply as well a lot force so as to bend the motherboard in the 4 places exactly where the hooks are supposed to latch on to. Rather, I went out and picked up a Thermaltake CLP0556 as an alternative. The mounting for this fan/heatsink consists of spring-loaded screws and a mounting plate that fits on the back of the motherboard. Unforunately, I had to un-mount the motherboard to install the mounting plate on the back of the motherboard, but nontheless, the cooling answer worked devoid of a hitch as soon as powered was turned on. I've generally have, and often will be, a consumer of Intel CPUs. I just wish they would increase on their cooling options to make it less difficult to install.

Rapid clock speeds with Hyperthreading.On-chip Graphics is truly great ƕ.four on WEI for gaming). It will run Left four Dead two no problems. It's really quicker in single-threaded applications than my i7-920 rig is (such as Online Explorer, Winamp, Microsoft Office, and so on.).It will overclock if you will need it, but due to the fact I put this in a computer I built for my Dad's birthday, I won't test it out. But you must accomplish 4. GHz+ on air uncomplicated, particularly with a 24x multiplier. It won't cook my dinner. Runs cool. 33° C on the OEM heatsink/fan in a Cooler Master Elite case with only a 120mm rear fan. So you won't want an expensive case to preserve temps in check. It doesn't help TurboBoost, not that you'll want it. Nonetheless, because it's a Dual-Core, it won't final as extended as an i5-660, so it might be worth the additional hundred bucks in the long run, because that supports on-chip graphics as effectively. Nevertheless, for the least expensive rig attainable, skip more than the Core 2 Duo/Quad, and pick this guy up. Most motherboards compatible with the i3 are really upgradeable as well.

Functionality, low heat, low energy consumption, Hyperthreading. none. I believed this chip wouldn't be too far off the Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz I use at function - but the i3 absolutely thrashes it! Supreme Commander runs like a dream. Adobe Creative Suite too.

I got this tiny guy with a BioStar Motherboard bundle. My earlier setup was a stock HP/Compaq w/:e64002GB generic 667 DDR2PNY 9800GTX+Windows 7 HPWas starting to get stuttering in newer games. That old technique served me nicely, but it was time to upgradeI looked into shoring up the old system, but these parts had been more affordable and Substantially, Substantially quicker!!So glad I went this way. I purchased the CM 212+ simply because heard more than and more than that the stock heatsink was garbage and it really is. This tiny guy stays cool even underneath pressure. Have had it overclocked to 4. Ghz and it only went up 3 or four degrees C. Stays inside 30 - 40 C no matter the load!! Couldn't wait for a Sandy Bridge Motherboard. Runs genuinely fast for the value. The stock thermal paste that comes with the heatsink is terrible. Below complete load, my CPU hit about 77 degrees Celsius and idled at 30. I ordered some Arctic Silver, slapped some on, and now it runs at 63 beneath complete load and 20-25 idle. Do yourself a favor and drop the <บ for the paste. Certainly excellent sufficient for mid range gaming. Runs Black Ops fine on high with a GTX 460.

Pretty rapid for HTPC. Runs Cool. Stock heatsink is excellent for folks operating it at the normal speed. I am not making use of its onboard video capabilities but they really should be very good for most HTPC. None, Maybe if you genuinely wanted to you would swap out the thermal paste for some Arctic Silver?? But not a necessity.
