turn up the turbo to its Max (ƶ speed binds[Ʋ speed binds that on prime of the four speed binds that is stock]) to be low 4GHz which is Best for pc gamers Ɣ.6GHz is the "cut off" for gamers[games do not perform any much better immediately after 4.6GHz]) Excellent energy saver even with you adding 4 more "speed binds" to the turbo. small high in cost suitable now, you can get an older i5 and OC to 4.4GHz+

Cons:No OverclockingWeak Integrated GfxTiny Stock Cooler

Pros:Energy EfficientRelatively FastCost (for an intel)
Comment:
I went for this chip because I don't plan on overclocking and have a discreet graphics card. This is the perfect chip for me as the only cons it has don't really effect me. The stock cooler was smaller than I figured it should be, but temps seem excellent. Just a testament to how energy efficient these are. The performance is absolutely amazing, and the price wasn't too bad.

Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:Only a little cheaper than a 2500k

Pros:FastBetter energy efficiency compared to AMD
Comment:
I bought this for someone who doesn't plan on overclocking and has a dedicated video card, so the 2500k wasn't necessary. It's my understanding that the 2500k adds better overclockability and a beefier onboard graphics chip. This is the fastest CPU I've ever included in a build before and it flies. Played some Far Cry 2 maxed out at 1080p with a 6850 and it runs great. Also great for video/audio encoding, which makes me want to get one for myself. If you don't plan on overclocking and you have a dedicated video card, this is highly recommended. Otherwise, spend a bit more on the 2500k.

Excellent Processor. Now let me make one thing clear. The positive aspects of this processor for gamers is about ten% more than i5 7xx series processor and about 2-5% far more in demanding applications as compared to i5 8xx series--- WITH lower power consumption. So they fundamentally use much less power and have their personal memory controller. 4 cores as nicely. As usual, Intel cooler not adequate ... if your area is above 30 degrees ambient temp, get an following industry cooler. In a.c it will be just fine. For extremists, the 2500k will suit them a small far more due to the fact of the unlocked b.s. But that's just a pocket load of money.Anyways, great item for price. Just completed create and its working great. For 1155 Platforms, you can also use your 1156 cooler...very good compatibility there. Once you have a great mobo like Asus, Msi, Gigabyte...this will carry out well. Value --- I guessNo true problems for me.Just one more series of Processors to get the planet '''goin''' once again....lol. I truly bought for low power consumption rewards but if you have a great i5 7xx or i7 8xx cpu, its not important to make switch more than.Well done Newegg once again

This CPU will do almost everything you want it to do and a lot more! It is remarkable the difference in efficiency amongst my old CPU and this 1. do yourself a favor and buy this cpu Even although this CPU only demands 95w i identified it ran a lot hotter than you would expect from a 95w cpu. if you are preparing on purchasing this cpu i advocate obtaining a third party heat sync and fan. you don't have it, so get it.

Runs good. Onboard graphics ok. Bios is amazing. Much better than my AMD 965 BE. none Far better graphics with cards installed. I put in 2 Saphiretech VaporX 5770. I really meant to acquire the 2500K chip but I didn't pay attention when I was picking a combo get. Initially time I've purchased an Intel chip given that Pentium II. I'll certainly be seeking at Intel chips in the future.

Just built my very first laptop or computer about this CPU and I am not disappointed. Even with the stock cooler it runs super cool. It idles around 32 C in my pretty warm room. Due to the fact it's not a K version, the overclock is restricted. But I knew that going in so I'm not complaining. A lot of men and women believe that a non-K version can't be overclocked at all. This is not accurate! Though I have yet to test it myself, you can overclock this CPU up to three.99 GHz.

Cons:No Overclocking capabilityWeak Integrated graphics for gaming

Pros:Low cost and good performanceLow power consumption1080p playback
Comment:
Got this processor for a family/media PC build, so my requirements were rather modest. I did not need to OC, but some may find this a disadvantage and may want to pay the extra 10-20$ for the K version. The HD 2000 integrated graphics is a bit weak for running even modest games, but no issue with HD video playback all the way up to 1080p.For budget Media PC builds, this is a great choice.

+ Rapidly, smooth media efficiency+ Editing my 1080p Sony Handycam videos is a breeze with this processor+ Even iTunes is fairly quickly - Fan is not the quietest (you could want a diverse one)- Some of the software on the intel driver disk feels like bloatware- I have had two or three blue screens when employing iTunes or Quicktime videos in a browser. I am operating the newest intel graphics driver on the integrated HD Graphics 2000. I bet a discrete gpu would fix this. I am utilizing the Intel BOXDH67BL LGA 1155 motherboard so I don't assume it is a mobo compatibility challenge. ~ I would purchase the i5-2500k over this one particular if you are organizing to use integrated graphics. The 2500k comes with HD Graphics 3000 for ~ฟ much more. I believed the only difference was that the 2500k was unlocked for overclocking, but the integrated graphics is 1 generation newer as effectively.

I bought this processor along with an MSI mobo (p67-gd65) simply because I wasn't planning to overclock. But in fact, it's actually really easy, the multiplier goes up to 41 and you don't even require to mess with the voltages to get up to 4.1 ghz regardless of this processor becoming distinct from it's unlocked brother. All you have to do is change the ram timings, and you're set. Temps for all four cores are in between 18 to 20 Celsius on a CM 212+. Basically amazing. None! This CPU has xtremely low energy consumption, runs really cool, and it ramps up to 4.1 ghz when the additional energy is necessary in the course of games. bought this for a friend who doesn't overclock and its great value at just $196 (I PMed it btw). Its fast enough for most people who does't convert or rendering of any kind. Highly recommend this over the 2600/2600k since you are paying aroud $100 more for hyperthreading and the little boost in clock speed. For those who wants a high end PC and on a budget, just go for the 2500 and if you really want the extra speed, grab the unlocked version and overclock it since its so easy to overclock now a days, nearly everyone can do it.
