Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:None
Pros:Good price/performance, blows core2duo out of the water, runs cool Comment:
Because I run simulations I'm actually able to use all of the performance offered by this processor and the performance is incredible. More than twice as fast compared to the 3.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo I had before, and runs pretty cool to boot. :) |

No complaints, works like a dream. Even though it's not the K version, you can still overclock to about 4 GHz which is perfectly fine with me (by only changing the multiplier!). Stock cooler completely sucks. Prime95 anxiety tests got up to the 70s at base settings so get an aftermarket cooler even if you don't overclock it. Ignoring Firefox's bugs, I left a window idle in the background and the cpu temps rose 10-20 degrees. I actually want to hammer this point home: the stock cooler is just terrible for anything but idling. Just a sick CPU. If you don't program to overclock to the mid-high 4 GHz range with a 2500K, get this one. It's still capable of mild overclocking and all you need is a ฮ aftermarket cooler. This is the 3rd time I've said it, but just don't use the stock cooler: it sucks some thing bad. |

Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:- none so far
Pros:- Very fast- low price for the speed- stock fan quieter than I taught it would be Comment:
Bought this for a budget gaming PC and paired it to a H67 board since I'll wait BF3 to be released to buy the GPU. It should be way enough CPU horsepower to run games. |

Pros: Price/Performance Comment:
Very fast speeds. Does not disappoint. Granted, I am using the rig mostly for gaming so I don't really push the processor that hard. For gamers looking for the best bang for their buck, though, you can't go wrong firing it this way. |

Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:
none
Pros: PricePerformance Comment:
Price/performance ratio is unbeatable. One of the fastest chips on the market for $200 bucks? its a no-brainer.bought this for a budget build for my parents who only use it for email. figured for the cast, why not???used to be an AMD fanboy, but can't justify that anymore. even the best x6 1100 chip scores lower than this chip in almost every benchmark. and its $250+. |

Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:
not unlocked, Price difference with a K is a joke
Pros: Fast, rather cheap Comment:
I bought this unit for a friend who had a super tight budget and wanted to save every possible penny. Now that there's only 5-10$ difference with a 2500K, I wouldn't consider this CPU anymore unless you really can't spend the extra 10$. |
Awesome processor for a business / work computer. Put this in an OCR build for a law office and it works great. Not going to be overclocking their PC, so chose this over the 2500k.
