This is the hottest processor I've ever employed, like my old Pentium D 840 Extreme!At stock temperatures it hits 75c with a Cooler Master n520! Overclocked to ANY affordable Ghz and it will shoot up to 87. I know the HSF is installed correctly simply because the idle temps dropped from 37c to 29c so I can't even envision what the load temps had been with the stock cooler; I didn't test them. This is WAY too hot; one thing's not correct right here. My 130w 930 must not be 20c less than this factor at load but it isŌ. This is horrible to attempt and overclock. Perhaps it's LGA1156, possibly it's the processor or possibly it's my MSI Motherboard (OC Genie is really pretty negative, I don't suggest it). 3. It's 跂. Just go x58 and get an i7 930 or 950. If you're a gamer you'll want the superior XFire/SLI performance anyway. You'll invest a couple of additional bucks on the motherboard but you'll get a ridiculously greater processor and tri-channel RAM. It's not a negative processor. I'm convinced that my heat problem is specific to me; there's no way this 95w processor must be hitting 85c or 95c with the Cooler Master n520. Either I installed the cooler poorly or I got one from a actually terrible batch. If you totally ought to go LGA1156 then this is the processor to get subsequent to the i5 760. If you game, consider the i5 760 as it has no hyperthreading (which you'll be wanting to disable on this card as it's useless for gaming) and cost much much less.

Has been my major method CPU for over a year now. Worked good with P55 mobo. Lower wattage than 900 series i7s but offers far better performance due to higher turbo boosting levels. Simply overclockable. I wish these came in LGA 1366 packages. Outstanding DDR3 dual channel controller. Unstoppable power. nope The only downfall to this super CPU is it's restricted to the P55 chipset. The P55 chipset has far less PCI lanes versus Intel X58 motherboards. This is an issue when wanting to run SLI, Crossfire setups alone, substantially less along with SATA 3. and USB three.. There just isn't adequate bandwidth to the CPU for all of this.

Quite quickly processor, I've been working with this in my new desktop setup for some extreme gaming and heavy duty video recording/compression. I have not however come close to pushing the CPU to it's limits. The stock fan is fairly awful (doesn't cool well and is not durable), but if you're willing to spend a bit added getting a new CPU fan, this really should counteract that problem.

This proc is sweet. Brand new build from Dual Core 930. Even with the 930 overclocked to 3.6ghz, there is no comparison. Did a core 2 e7500 build for my dad, and it can not compare to this in terms of performance and stability.Very fast with 64 bit applications. Load Times are minimal if any any. 64bit o/s is a must. Windows 7 was MY idea!Turbo increase makes me want a GIANT Turbo my 91 Explorer. It is night and day differerence with load times. If you have been researching temp issues on this proc, the forums don't lie. An aftermarket cooler is a must(I'm nonetheless researching, but leaning towards closed loop water cooling for just the cpu* Corsair Hydro H70). Temps are beyond uncomfortable under 100% load. Took Other people Guidance from Newegg & went with i7 quad instead of an i5 quad.Nicely worth the added dollars if U can afford it. None so far I'am not an extreme overclocker on the other hand i do suggest a aftermarket cooler.Newegg also gets 5 eggs for price & quality of service.

I just upgraded from a Duo simply because I needed to function on Animation. My rendering time is beyond magnificent. What does an i7 processor do with the proper ram? I had Autodesk Maya, iTunes, and a video conference operating. I don't recommend doing it, but absolutely nothing slowed down. I even had a virus scan operating whilst working on Maya. Very rapidly. Provides my Core two Extreme X9650 a run for its money.Windows task manager shows 8 cores (HT). Excellent dollar:performance ratio. Noisy fan, but all stock intel fans are like this. Get yet another cooling solution if you're looking to reduce noise.

Seriously rapidly processor. Can be misleading on the specs. When gaming this factor sits at three.2 turbo speed the whole time. Overclocked is incredible as well. Reached 3.7ish on a tiny air-cooled heatsink (not stock). Performed wonderful on Cinebench and Prime95. Upgraded to liquid cooling (H50) and it dropped load temps 15 to 20 degrees versus air. So, now four.+ Ghz is reachable. Haven't run tests but, but so far so excellent. Runs hot with aftermarket (Cooler Master) heatsink and fan, even at stock speeds. I highly advocate a liquid cooler for this one. Seriously. Energy consumption at idle is minimal. Appears to be a great value all about. Tough as well. My system recovered no problem from an accidental excursion into the four.8 ghz zone with the ASUS P7P55D-E LX handling the issue with no complications.

Quick! Quad Core! Hyper-Threading!, Turbo Increase! Price? Stock Intel CPU Cooler Loving it! It's so considerably faster than my old beat down desktop just before. It outpaced everything I threw at it. Do oneself a favor, throw the stock Intel cooler at the wall and buy oneself a genuine CPU cooler. The stupid black clips suck. My CPU would raise to 100C with the stock cooler. I tossed it and got a Corsair H50 water cooling system. Now it never ever gets above 50C.

i do a lot of work on my computer system (like everyone else now days) and the CPU in no way appears to be finding over 35 degrees c, also by no means goes above 30% usage running several VM's and playing games...seriously powerful none had some background trash running and producing the cpu go above 90% usage constantly at 1 point. had to do a fresh install for windows and almost everything else. user error, but didn't believe it would use so significantly of the cpu for trash.

I'll let the benchmarks speak for the CPU itself. Just appear them up. It is a excellent CPU. I am writing a review to vent my anger at Intel for still brazenly including defective heatsink securing mechanisms following 3+ years of selling them. This is an absolute scandal. I purchased an e8400 virtually 3 years ago and kept noticing my temps creeping higher and lastly into the lower 70s Celcius. Excellent CPU. Runs StarCraft2 (when paired with GF GTX 460) at 1920x1080 with almost everything on ultra. Encoding is incredibly rapidly. Excellent price for the performance you are receiving. none I am running this with the stock heatsink fan and every thing runs really smooth. Hard to justify the money for a 1366 platform when this performs so properly.

Got this CPU for a build on a slight budget. Budget because the motherboards for 1156 chipsets are still cheaper right now. Running Win7 64bit very smoothly. Upgrade on the heatsink is recommended, stock cooler is very small.
